Episode 365: Instagram Advertising Secrets: What Meta Won’t Tell You About How to Have Success with Instagram Ads Feb 11, 2022
    Show notes

Prior to the iOS update, it was easy to compare your ad performance on Facebook and Instagram. Now you’ve got to get creative.

If you missed Part 1 of co-hosts Ralph Burns and Kasim Aslam’s discussion with Tier 11’s Angela Ponsford, check that out first. In today’s episode, the trio continues their chat about Instagram advertising and what you need to know to get the best results possible on this platform. They talk about the merger between paid and organic ads—and the inescapable fact that IG reels aren’t going anywhere. You absolutely need to utilize them if you want to stay relevant. Stop trying to hack the algorithm, Kasim says, and just play the game.

Listen in for some tips on building community and engaging your audience on Instagram in some new (and not that scary) ways.

    IN THIS EPISODE YOU’LL LEARN:

    • How to create a specific audience and boost small bits of content only to them
    • Why paid ads by themselves don’t work on Instagram
    • How to set up conversation starters in your Instagram DMs with Minichat
    • Why you should play the IG game instead of trying to hack it (and how to do it)

Episode 361: Congress's Attempt to Shut Down Digital Advertising and Kasim's Plea for Liberty and Small Businesses Jan 28, 2022
    Show notes

A new bill was introduced this week that could literally take away your ability to be seen by your target audience.

In today’s episode, host Kasim Aslam shares his thoughts on the Verge article that came out this week: “Democrats Unveil Bill to Ban Online ‘Surveillance Advertising.’” Kasim, who is anti-partisan, is forced to get “mildly political” as he responds to this unsettling news. The bill would ban all use of digital advertising targeting ads to users. Kasim doesn’t want to be dramatic, but this is a dramatic bill, he says. If passed, it could effectively be the end of digital marketing as we know it. If they take away your ability to be seen by a relevant audience, “your message will be lost. You’ll be de-platformed. You’ll be a needle in a stack of needles.”

Listen in to hear Kasim’s thoughtful hot take and what he thinks is actually the solution to all of our trafficking problems.

    IN THIS EPISODE YOU’LL LEARN:

    • What kind of targeting the bill does “allow” and why that’s not a concession
    • What the “Overton Window” is and why it matters
    • Why and how this bill hamstrings every single small business out there
