Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s 101st lesson on Pokémon biology. Today's class is all about Electrode, the Ball Pokémon (Sphere Pokémon in Hisui) and evolved form of Voltorb. So if you've never seen an Electrode before, just imagine a Voltorb... but flipped over. And that's it! Electrodes love some good, yummy electricity. So much so that their fascination with power plants has been known to cause frequent blackouts. Electrodes are also known to explode at the slightest stimulation. Sometimes, they do it just for fun - the scoundrels! There's much more to learn about Electrode, including its electric/grass type Hisuian variant, so be sure to take good notes!

    100: Voltorb Jun 29, 2022

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s 100th lesson on Pokémon biology. Wow! What an achievement! To celebrate, we are doing nothing special whatsoever. Today’s lesson is all about Voltorb: the Ball Pokémon. Originally believed to just be an electric type, new research has uncovered an electric/grass variant from the ancient Hisui region, where it was called the Sphere Pokémon. And if you couldn’t tell already, Voltorb is basically a Poké Ball with eyes. Now, which came first: the Poké Ball or the Voltorb? Researchers are still trying to figure that out. There’s much more to learn about Voltorb, so take plenty of notes! And thank you, dear students, for listening to 100 lessons!

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s ninety-ninth lesson on Pokémon biology. For this class, we will be discussing Kingler: the Pincer Pokémon and evolved form of Krabby. Resembling Krabby in many ways, Kingler is most well known for the gorgeous crown on its head and its giant pincers. These claws have 10,000 horsepower, which is more than enough to break open an apricorn... in case you were wondering. Its claws are so large that Kingler has a hard time just lifting them. So just know that if you see a Kingler waving at you, it's exerting a lot of energy on your behalf. That means you're special. There's more to learn about Kingler, including its Gigantamax form, so be sure to take good notes!

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s ninety-eighth lesson on Pokémon biology. In today's lesson, we discuss Krabby: the River Crab Pokémon. This cute little water type has two pincers, which it uses to pinch enemies and balance itself. Sometimes when there's a heated battle, Krabby can lose a claw! Oh no! Nah, it's all good with Krabby. They have the ability to regenerate their claws similar to how Slowpoke does with its tail. But that doesn't mean you should go around tearing off Krabby claws as you see fit. Be respectful now. There's more to learn about Krabby, so make sure you pay close attention and take good notes!

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s ninety-seventh lesson on Pokémon biology. For this class, we are discussing Hypno: the Hypnosis Pokémon and evolved form of Drowzee. Like Drowzee, Hypno loves putting people to sleep and eating their dreams. It's known for using its swinging, polished pendulum to lull victims to sleep. What's even creepier is that Hypno has been known to carry away people who have good dreams. There's even one reported instance of a Hypno carrying away a child, BUT this isn't common... supposedly. But just to be safe, you probably shouldn't let Hypno babysit your kids. There's more to learn about Hypno, so make sure you take plenty of notes!

    Show notes

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s ninety-sixth lesson on Pokémon biology. In today's lesson, we will be discussing Drowzee: the Hypnosis Pokémon. This psychic type is said to have descended from the "legendary beast, Baku". Don't ask us what a "Baku" is. It ain't a Pokémon we've heard of. Drowzee is able to put people to sleep through hypnosis, where it then feasts on its victim's dreams. If you think that's creepy, get this: its favorite dreams are those of children. Terrifying. Unsettling. Don't bring this home to the family. There's more to learn about Drowzee, so be sure to take detailed notes!

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s ninety-fifth lesson on Pokémon biology. This class today is all about Onix: the Rock Snake Pokémon. This big rock/ground type is composed almost entirely of gray boulders. It can travel underground at speeds of over 50 mph, which is known to cause loud roaring. As it digs through the earth, Onix absorbs hard objects, causing its body to become more sturdy. And once it's done digging, those tunnels are later used by Diglett! Ah, the circle of life. There's more to learn about Onix, so please take good notes!

    Show notes

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s ninety-fourth lesson on Pokémon biology. This lesson today is all about Gengar: the Shadow Pokémon and final evolved form of Gastly. This mischievous ghost/poison type gets its jollies by hiding in the shadows of people or objects, ready to attack its unsuspecting victims. It's also a bit of a jokester! Gengar loves playing pranks and casting curses on people... all in good fun! Gengar also has a Mega Evolution, which has the ability to access other dimensions, as well as a Gigantamax form, which possesses a giant mouth that is rumored to be a gateway to the afterlife. Again, what a fun jokester of a Pokémon! There's a ton to learn about Gengar, so be sure to pay attention and take exquisite notes!

    093: Haunter May 11, 2022
    Show notes

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s ninety-third lesson on Pokémon biology. And this class is all about Haunter: the Gas Pokémon and evolved form of Gastly. This ghost/poison type has a tongue made entirely of gas, which it uses to lick unsuspecting victims. And once licked, those victims will shake violently until they die. Bad way to go. Some say Haunter is actually from another dimension, which is how it's able to float through walls. Sounds like some old folklore to me, but if it's in the Pokédex, then it's gotta be credible... right? And there's even more to learn about Haunter, so make sure you students take good notes!

    092: Gastly May 04, 2022
    Show notes

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s ninety-second lesson on Pokémon biology. In today's lesson, we will be discussing Gastly: the Gas Pokémon! This ghost/poison type is basically a dark purplish cloud. Its body is made up of 95% gas (hence the name, kids), so it can be easily blown away by strong winds! I'm sure you're wondering what that other 5% is that makes up a Gastly. Well, tune into the lesson to find out that terrifying answer. Speaking of terrifying, Gastly also has the ability to envelop and suffocate any opponent regardless of size. So please, make sure your Gastly is well-trained before bringing it around kids, okay? There's even more to learn, so make sure you take plenty of notes and send your Gastly poems to the Professor for extra credit!
