    121: Starmie Dec 28, 2022
    Show notes

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s 121st lesson on Pokémon biology. Today's lesson is about Starmie: the Mysterious Pokémon and evolved form of Staryu. How mysterious is it exactly? Like its predecessor, Starmie has a red jewel core, which it uses to communicate via radio signals. These signals are sent into space to communicate with... something. And that's where the mystery comes in. Some suspect that Starmie might actually be an alien! But those are just rumors. Because of its beautiful, color-changing core, Starmie is known by many as the "Gem of the Sea." How beautiful... but seriously, is it an alien!? There's more to learn about Starmie, so please take detailed notes!

    120: Staryu Dec 21, 2022
    Show notes

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s 120th lesson on Pokémon biology. And today’s class is about Staryu: the Star Shape Pokémon. This water type Pokémon has a red core that glows very bright at night. They’ve been known to float on the water’s surface, blinking their cores in efforts to communicate with the stars in space. Are they actually making contact with another species? Are there more Staryu in space? Who knows! Staryu also has the ability to regenerate torn limbs. But that doesn’t mean you should be careless. Please treat our little stargazer friends with love and care. There’s more to learn about Staryu, so make sure you’re taking good notes!

    119: Seaking Dec 14, 2022
    Show notes

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s 119th lesson on Pokémon biology. Today's lesson is about Seaking: the Goldfish Pokémon and evolved form of Goldeen. And what a beauty it is! Seaking's vibrant colors and gorgeous fins allow it to court females by dancing. If you think you can dance, just watch a Seaking bust a move! It also gains weight to attract mates too. The fatter the better! Besides its beautiful appearance, Seaking also has a pronounced horn on the front of its head. This powerful horn creates holes in riverbed rocks, where it stores its eggs safely from the river's current. Talk about dad of the year! There's more to learn about Seaking, including the horn vs fin fandoms, so make sure you're taking good notes!

    118: Goldeen Dec 07, 2022

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s 118th lesson on Pokémon biology. And for today’s class, you will be learning about Goldeen: the Goldfish Pokémon. Although it’s not gold, this Pokémon is quite gorgeous! Its elegant tail and fins look similar to a ballroom dress. But if you plan to dance with Goldeen, be sure to make room for the big horn on its head! As graceful as the Water Queen is, it's also feisty and dangerous to unsuspecting swimmers. There’s more to learn about Goldeen, so take good notes, students!

    117: Seadra Nov 30, 2022
    Show notes

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s 117th lesson on Pokémon biology. For today’s class, we will be discussing Seadra: the Dragon Pokémon and the evolved form of Horsea. Despite being a water type, Seadra has dorsal fins that secrete toxic venom. Upon contact, they can induce numbness and fainting in humans. However, this toxin is considered to be highly valuable as herbal medicine. Forget painkillers! Seadra venom is the way to go. Remember how Horsea could generate small whirlpools? Well, Seadra’s whirlpools are no joke! They are powerful enough to swallow fishing boats! But if you’re in a yacht, you’ll probably be fine. Maybe some minor damages. There’s more to learn about Seadra, so make sure you’re taking good notes!

    116: Horsea Nov 23, 2022
    Show notes

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s 116th lesson on Pokémon biology. This lesson is all about Horsea: the Dragon Pokémon. For virtual students who tuned in last week, our school (and half of Saffron City) was destroyed in the Kangaskhan earthquake. Despite this mishap, we are making the best of it by having class on the beach of Cinnabar Island, which allows us to encounter Horsea in its natural habitat! Horsea is a tiny water type that shoots blank ink from its mouth at attackers and small bug Pokémon. Horsea also love to dance and create whirlpools for fun. Sometimes they'll compete with each other to see who can form the biggest one! Isn't that simply adorable? There's more to learn about Horsea, so be sure to take good notes!

    115: Kangaskhan Nov 16, 2022
    Show notes

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s 115th lesson on Pokémon biology. And today's class is all about Kangaskhan: the Parent Pokémon. And boy does it live up to its name! Kangaskhan is a fiercely protective mother to her child, whom she carries in her belly pouch. This baby will stay with its mother until it's approximately three years old. Kangaskhan will go to any length to protect her child, even if it means sleeping while standing. She only allows the baby to leave her pouch to play if she believes it's a safe environment. But if something poses a threat to its young child, consider it dead already. Kangaskhan is the ultimate parent. The thought of even mocking its parenting ability is a fool's game. Only a moron would do such a thing. There's more to learn about Kangaskhan, including its Mega Evolution, so be sure to pay attention and take notes!

    114: Tangela Nov 09, 2022
    Show notes

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s 114th lesson on Pokémon biology. Today's class is about Tangela: the Vine Pokémon. This little grass type is known for the long, blue vines covering its body. Now what does said body look like? Well... we have no idea. Apparently no one has bothered to check what Tangela's hiding under all those vines. These vines are constantly undulating, which causes foes to feel unnerved. Tangela also enjoys to tickle others and be tickled itself. Quite the playful little thing. Just don't play too hard or these sensitive vines will snap off! But it's fine, they quickly regrow within a day. So forget what I said - play hard. There's more to learn about Tangela, so make sure you're taking good notes!

    113: Chansey Nov 02, 2022
    Show notes

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s 113th lesson on Pokémon biology. And this lesson is about Chansey: the Egg Pokémon. Named not only for its egg-like shape, Chansey is also known to share its eggs with injured people and Pokémon. However, if Chansey senses you have an evil heart, it will not give you an egg. These Pokémon have also been referred to as "doctors' doubles" due to their eggs' nutritional value. I'm no expert, but I don't think giving someone healthy food automatically makes you a doctor. There's more to learn about Chansey, so please take detailed notes!

    112: Rhydon Oct 26, 2022
    Show notes

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s 112th lesson on Pokémon biology. Today's class is all about Rhydon: the Drill Pokémon, who is the evolved form of Rhyhorn. Now that it has evolved to use its hind legs, Rhydon has a way more developed brain. It's a genius compared to that dumb dumb Rhyhorn. Its horn is strong enough to shatter rocks and even diamonds. And Rhydon has tough hide that is able to withstand molten lava of 3,600 degrees Fahrenheit. So if you're ever in need of a magma-proof, diamond-breaking, building-toppling Pokémon, Rhydon is the one for you! And there's even more to learn about it, so be sure to take good notes!
