Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s 131st lesson on Pokémon biology. For today's class, we will be discussing Lapras: the Transport Pokémon. Lapras gets its name from its love for ferrying people across the water. It's a very friendly Pokémon, but this has made it an easy target for hunters in the past. There was even a period where Lapras almost went extinct! How could anyone hurt this majestic, seafaring angel!? Lapras is also known to sing beautiful songs to communicate with others of its kind. Simply precious. And there's much more to learn about Lapras, so take plenty of notes!

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s 130th lesson on Pokémon biology. In today's lesson, we are learning all about Gyarados: the Atrocious Pokémon and evolved form of Magikarp. And what an evolution this is! Gone is the wimpy, useless Pokémon that was Magikarp. Gyarados is feared by many for its temper and destructive behavior. It's been known to appear during times of world conflict, adding to the mayhem by burning everything down. Does Gyarados want the fighting to stop or does it revel in the violence? We may never know. There's more to learn about Gyarados, including its Mega Evolution, so make sure you're taking good notes!

Show notes

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s 129th lesson on Pokémon biology. You might not want to get too excited about today’s lesson because it’s all about Magikarp: the Fish Pokémon. All you need to know is that it’s terrible at swimming and splashes a lot. It can also survive in polluted waters, which makes sense for a trash Pokémon like this. I would say there’s more to learn about Magikarp, but I’d be lying. Don’t skip this lesson though - it is required by the Professor!

And once Tauros charges, there’s no stopping it. In Paldea, there are three different breeds of Tauros: the Combat Breed, the Blaze Breed, and the Aqua Breed, which we also cover in today’s lesson. So make sure you take good notes!

Show notes

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s 127th lesson on Pokémon biology. In today's class, we will be discussing Pinsir: the Stag Beetle Pokémon. This bug Pokémon is appropriately named after the large pincers on its head, which it uses to crush, rip, and tear into opponents. If the victim is too hard to crush, it will swing and throw them! But Pinsir can only throw things twice its weight. However, Pinsir has a Mega Evolution, where it can throw things up to 10 times its weight! This Mega Pinsir also has a pair of wings, which allow it to fly at a blinding... 30 mph. Yeah, not that fast. But it looks cool! There's more to learn about Pinsir, so take plenty of notes!

And in today's special episode, we will be discussing Magmar: the Spitfire Pokémon as well as some big news for the class, such as our Patreon and Discord! Magmar is indeed a VERY hot Pokémon, with its body temperature burning at 2,200° Fahrenheit. So because of this, it's typically seen near active volcanoes. If Magmar is ever in a cold place, it will blow hot flames all around to change the environment to its liking. Wow, selfish right? There's more to discuss about Magmar, so make sure you take detailed notes!

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s 124th lesson on Pokémon biology. In today's class, we will be discussing Jynx: the Human Shape Pokémon. Weird name, right? We've covered plenty of human-looking Pokémon, but hey, I don't make the rules! But Jynx does almost sound human. It speaks a language similar to ours, but no one has been able to decipher it. So instead of verbal communication, Jynx prefers to dance! This Pokémon is loved by many, especially in the Galar region, where it's been called the "Queen of Ice". Now that's a better name than "Human Shape". There's more to learn about Jynx, so make sure you grab your dancing shoes and take some notes!

Show notes

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s 123rd lesson on Pokémon biology. And today's lesson is all about Scyther: the Mantis Pokémon. This bug/flying type is known for its long, sharp scythes. It uses them to rip and tear through its foes with ease. Scyther can even cut through a large tree with a single slice! Now that's impressive and all, but does anyone else think Scyther would be a great hibachi chef? Scyther also disguises itself in tall grass, where it moves like a ninja to attack unsuspecting prey. It moves so quickly, that you can't even see it! And by the time you catch a glimpse... SHHHLINK! Your throat is cut. There's more to learn about Scyther, so make sure you take good notes!

Show notes

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob’s 122nd lesson on Pokémon biology. And this class is all about Mr. Mime: the Barrier Pokémon. This psychic/fairy type is a masterful pantomime, so much so that it can create invisible objects with its hand movements! It does this by solidifying the air molecules around its fingertips. But if you dare to interrupt Mr. Mime while its miming, it will slap you! So please, be respectful. There's also an ice/psychic Galarian variant, and it is known as the Dancing Pokémon. This Mr. Mime can manipulate temperatures to create ice floors, which it then uses as a barrier. There's more to learn about Mr. Mime, so make sure you're taking good notes!
