Episode No. 74 Pressing Pause Nov 24, 2019
    Show notes

Y'all I am taking the month of December off. I was going to try to keep creating new content on the blog + podcast but it just ain't happening captain. Ya girl is burned out! 🥴 I decided to take the month of December off to try a little easier. I'm over the grind. I want to use this next month to do to the work but with way more ease + gentleness for myself. So no more waking up at 3:30 am to finish edits, or skipping lunch to finish a newsletter. Nope, I'm going to put some boundaries in place with my business so that I can take better care of myself. So what does that mean? Welp, it means that today is the final episode of the #SJSPodcast of 2019. We'll be returning with fresh new episodes on January 6th, 2020. Aside from announcing my month-long hiatus, in today's episode, I'm sharing why it's so important for all of us to press pause + get back in alignment with our why. Episode No. 73 Motherhood + The Hustle With Lu’Cretia Thomas Nov 17, 2019
    Show notes

[Tweet "If anything my daughter is the reason why I decided to take the leap. I want her to see me as an example + know that she can do what she wants and that there are no limitations. - Lu'Cretia Thomas "]A few years ago Lu'Cretia "LC" Thomas was fired from her corporate job. Getting fired is scary as hell but getting fired when you're a single mother to a young daughter is a whole other story. So what did she do? Well, she worked up the courage to look at her firing as an opportunity to go after her side hustles full force. Instead of finding another corporate job she turned her side hustles into a full-blown business. That one leap of faith wound up being the best decision of her life. Now almost seven years later LC is still in the game creating multiple facets of her business while still being a dope mom to her baby girl.Last Fall, she created the Girl Behind The Hustle, an online community created to encourage, celebrate and share stories from the women behind the hustle. She is also a podcast host, social media strategist, and hairstylist. The woman is a hustler in every sense of the word!In today's episode, LC shares how she bounced back after getting fired, created her own lane + how motherhood made her a better businesswoman.Check Out Episode No. 73 Motherhood + The Hustle with Lu'Cretia ThomasResources Mentioned In Today's Episode: Interested in affordable therapy? Episode No. 69 Ditching The Excuses Series: “What If My Friends + Family Don’t Support Me?” Oct 13, 2019
    Show notes

In today's final installment of the Ditching The Excuses Series, we're going to talk about support. Oftentimes when we start a new endeavor we expect our friends and family to be the first in line to support, purchase, sign up, listen or read. Makes sense right? I mean they have been in your corner throughout your life cheering you on and celebrating your accomplishments. But what do you do when your inner circle isn't really all that interested in being your customer, client or audience member? Does that mean you give up or on your dreams? Absolutely NOT! In today's episode, we're going to talk about why it's so important to not take it personally if your friends and family don't support you in a way that you expect them to in your dream chase. Instead, we're going to focus on how to find your people. Those customers, supporters and audience members you were called to serve that aren't necessarily members of your beloved squad.Check Out Episode No. 69 Ditching The Excuses Series: "What If My Friends + Family Don't Support Me?"Resources Mentioned In Today's Episode: Ready to work together? Episode No. 65 Recommitting To Your Hustle Sep 08, 2019
    Show notes

One of my biggest goals this summer was to make sure that I had fun, and fun I had! I went to every rooftop, speakeasy, day party, festival BBQ, you name it. And guess what? I loved every single minute of it! Here's the thing though, while I was out and about sipping on Margarita's and living my best life, I lost sight of my hustle a little bit. I was so busy key-keying that I let some of my goals fall by the wayside. Once August rolled around I could feel myself flirting with major burnout so I decided that hell or high water September would be a-- "girl sit yo ass down somewhere and get back focused on your hustle"-- September. So I spent some time last weekend reconnecting to my why. I set some intentions, created a strategy and decided to execute the hell out of it over the course of the next twelve weeks. Basically I activated beast mode! Are you ready to do the same thing? Ready to knock the dust off your to-do list and recommit to your goals? Well, today's episode is for you because I'm walking you through the very process I went through to help me get clear about my desires, prioritize my next moves + have some fun along the way. Oh yeah + I created these journal prompts to help you figure out what your next moves are too.
