Episode N0. 64 Nurturing The Relationship You Have With Yourself Aug 25, 2019
    Show notes

[Tweet "The most important relationship in your life is the relationship you have with yourself. Because no matter what happens, you will always be with yourself.”- Diane Von Furstenberg"]A few years ago I went through a pretty rough breakup and as I was trying to wrap my head around the whole ordeal I kept reading articles that told me to love myself. I feel a little silly admitting this but I'd sit back and be like "BUT HOW THOUGH?!" I did all the shopping, all the mani's and pedicures; but I still felt like crap. And so I began on a quest to discover what it truly meant to love myself. And what I've found over the years is that for me it has been more about nurturing the relationship that I have with myself and less about taking trips to the spa. Showing myself some love has looked a lot like unlearning my limiting beliefs and behaviors. Speaking up for myself when my natural tendency (a.k.a learned behavior) is to keep quiet because I don't want to ruffle any feathers. It's been validating my own emotions and opinions instead of searching for some outside source to do it. For the past few weeks, we've been talking a lot about our relationships with other people and I thought it was only fair that we spend some time chatting today the most important relationship we'll be in for the rest of our lives--the relationship with ourselves.Check Out Episode No. 64 Nurturing The Relationship You Have With YourselfTopics Discussed In Today’s Episode: How to start prioritizing your needs + desires Why it's so important to start cultivating the relationship you have with yourself Warning signs that you need to show yourself some love ASAP Dismantling limiting beliefs + enhancing your positive self-talk Respecting your own boundaries that you've set for yourself + not violating them any longerResources Mentioned In Today's Episode: Grab your tickets to The Sunday Jumpstart Podcast Meetup + Coworking Session. Episode No. 62 Getting Comfortable Being The Beginner Aug 04, 2019
    Show notes

[Tweet ""You've got to be the beginner before you can be anything else!""]Wouldn't it be nice if that thing you just started working on blew up overnight? I'm talking a million views, a million followers, a million dollars, a million clients-- instantly? Nice huh? Well, let me let you in on a secret. It more than likely ain't gonna happen like that captain. It takes a nice little minute to become an overnight success. And by minute I mean anywhere from a year or maybe even ten. Who the hell knows! 🤷🏽‍♀️ You can't really guarantee when that thing you're building will pop. There is one thing I do know for sure and that my dear is that you cannot get to that level of success you dream of without first being the beginner.I know sucks right? A lot of us hate being the beginner. We want so badly for our stuff to work right off the bat because we're so used to constantly seeing everyone else's huge mega wins on Instagram. We, legit watch people on the daily; announce book deals, open bakeries, sign with labels and start businesses--ALL THE TIME and it seems like it happened for them overnight. The thing is that a lot of us tend to forget that it took years of discipline, education, execution, failures, and small wins that helped your IG fave to that point. Oh yeah and the fact that at some point they were a beginner just like you but the difference is that they didn't give up.In today's episode, we're talking about why it's so important to get comfortable being the beginner. I know you're rolling your eyes at me cause you've been working hard-- you're like "Jessica I want my wins and I want them NOW! " Trust me I get it. But there are so many lessons to be learned in the meantime, not just the final destination. So if you just started a thing or you've been working on something for a while and still haven't seen the results you were hoping for then today's episode is for you! Episode No. 61 The Lowdown On Situationships With Natalie Lue Jul 28, 2019
    Show notes

[Tweet ""When we treat ourselves with love, care, trust and respect we will not accept less from somebody else that can't be or do what we already can for ourselves. - Natalie Lue of @baggagereclaim""]According to Urban Dictionary, a situationship is a relationship that has no label on it. I like to call them Psuedo relationships. It's when you're "dating" someone and it feels almost like a whole relationship but not quite. You and your boo may always hang out, finish each other's sentences, have sex, go out, meet friends and family but when it comes time to have THE talk about making things official and committing to each other, someone always says; "Nah, why mess up what we have with a label?"🤨 (That's my-- make it make sense face.) Anyway does that sound familiar? It does to me because I have been in more than my fair share of situationships. And since it's summertime and everyone is out in these streets living their best lives meeting new boos and boo thangs, I decided to invite relationship guru, Natalie Lue onto the show. Today she's spilling all the tea on why we allow ourselves to get into situationships and how to finally walk away from them.Topics Discussed In Today's Episode: Why we seek out partners that are emotionally unavailable Setting relational intentions + boundaries How to get into the habit of expressing your wants + needs The signs that you might be in situationship Why situationships wind up hurting you in the end How to ask those big questions + not feel bad for asking them How to end situationships Check Out Episode No. 61 The Lowdown On Situationships With Natalie LueResources Mentioned In Today's Episode: Natalie's Blog: Baggage Reclaim | Podcast: The Baggage Reclaim Sessions | Instagram: @NatLue Mr. Unavailable And The Fall Back Girl By Natalie Lue Ready to work together? Episode No. 60 Napping Is Self Care Too Jul 14, 2019
    Show notes

[Tweet ""Don't feel pressure to go hard, if your spirit is feeling soft. There is no rush. Experiment with rest as power, The magic and healing is in the slowing down"-- @thenapministry"]For the past couple of weeks, I have been super distracted. I've been trying my hardest to be productive and get the dream work done, but lately, it ain't happenin' captain! I've tried everything to get my head back in the game. From apps to coworking with friends at coffee shops. Nothing has been working. That is until I mistakenly fell asleep for a full 90 minutes in the middle of the day. I wasn't supposed to but I am so glad that I did. I woke up feeling completely restored, renewed and re-energized! My focus was back, I got a ton of work done and a wave of creativity washed over me. Why hadn't I incorporated napping into my routine before? Well because GUILT. I have this fear that if I stop for just one second to catch my breath and rest that everything I worked hard to build will crumble. Bummer right? Well, I'm over that mindset because napping is a form of self- care and I am here for it! In today's episode, we're talking about the importance of napping, how to do it (believe it or not there's a science to it) and the many benefits of being super intentional about getting more naps into our daily lives.Check Out Episode No. 60 Napping Is Self Care TooResources Mentioned In Today's Episode Soul Rest: 7 Days To Renewal Devotional in The Bible App The Nap Ministry On Instagram Night Storms Playlist On Spotify The Tide App This week's listener win comes in from Jessica of ReCreatingHerStory.Com Ready to work together? Episode No. 58 The “Get To Do” List Jun 23, 2019
    Show notes

Have you ever looked at your to-do list and thought "Ugh I HATE that I have to do all of this ish"? Yeah me too! I love my business but I hate all the administrative tasks that come with it. The emails, the meetings, the pitching-- it all drives me CRAZY. Why? Well because it's boring, tedious and totally unsexy. I'd much rather be doing a photoshoot or writing up some amazing content. But emails? Eww! No!Well, a few months ago I was listening to my good friend, Taylor Elyse Morrison's podcast, Be School and she talked about turning her dreaded to-do list into a "Get To Do" list. Instead of resenting all of the work she has to do on the daily, she looks at her tasks and says "I am so grateful I get to do this stuff". Mind blown! 🤯Yeah yeah yeah emailing can be boring. But I am so blessed to be able to send them for a business that I once dreamed of having and prayed to God that I could create. Her "get to do" list has changed the game for me. Every day I am excited to tackle my work because I am so honored that I get to do it!Have you been griping about all the work you have to do? Tired of dropping your kids off to soccer? Sick of cleaning up that house? Pissed that you have to get another oil change? Well, remember when you prayed for that stuff? The kids? The car? The home? Yep, total heart check huh? If your to-do list has been working your last nerve then check out today's episode, it'll help you incorporate some gratitude into your work! Episode No. 57 Finding Your Purpose Jun 16, 2019
    Show notes

I used to be kinda stressed out about finding my purpose. I would look for it high and low for it. Maybe it was in my acting career? Maybe it was working with kids? 🧐 I'd sit and read books about finding my purpose. Alchemist anyone? I knew I wanted to leave my mark on this planet but I didn't know how. Well, recently my coach had me do an exercise that helped me realize that the search for purpose isn't necessarily an outside job. That most times it's been within us the whole time. In today's episode, we're chatting it up about finding your purpose and how it might be tied to something that's been brewing in your for a while now.Resources Mentioned In Today's Episode: Let's work together!
