Hey, Soothers! In this episode, I meet with my feng shui teacher, Amanda Gibby Peters, to take a holistic view of the power of feng shui for all people, but especially highly sensitive people. Amanda is Dallas-based with an international clientele. She lives with her husband and twin daughters, and chronicles her work at www.simpleshui.com.

232: Listen in on a Soothe small group and see what it's like Nov 05, 2023
    Show notes

Hey there Soothers! Today I bring to you a lovely, warm group of amazing women — one of my current small groups inside the Soothe mastermind! The small groups are the tender heart of my Soothe program, and by listening today you'll hear straight from a few of the women who are currently in Soothe! I know it's one thing to hear me talk about Soothe, and quite another to hear actual participants, so I hope you'll enjoy this beautiful group of women, why they joined Soothe, and what they are learning and taking away from the program. (And a lot of jokes and laughter — this group is a shining example of the fact that humor and play is healing, too.)

231: Why highly sensitive people might want to microdose, with Kayse Gehret of Microdosing for Healing Oct 29, 2023
    Show notes

Hey Soothers! Today I'm so excited to have on Kayse Gehret of Microdosing for Healing. Kayse Gehret is a nature-based healing artist, author, founder and podcast host. With nearly three decades of experience in the healing arts, Kayse leads Microdosing for Healing - a nationwide virtual community around earth medicine practice - as well as the Best Practices Mastermind for Healers - a global collective of diverse healing artists & health professionals brought together for learning, strategy, growth, collaboration and visioning new healing models for the future.
I connected with Kayse over the summer when I took one of her programs. Today we dive into all things microdosing, from our how personal journeys using earth medicine both started, WTF actually IS microdosing, how microdosing in Kayse's experience has helped her clients with nervous system dysregulation, hormonal and menstrual issues, and feminine energy, and lots more.
I'll be incorporating microdosing medicine into Soothe, and Kayse is a big reason why — she taught me how plant and earth medicine helps heal us and helps us grow at a different level than cognitive and intellectual understanding can do.

230: Reflections on 4 years of business Oct 22, 2023
    Show notes

Hey Soothers! Did you know it's been four years and one month since I left my corporate job and leapt into the great unknown of starting and running my creative online teaching and life coaching and writing and whatever the heck else I do business? I thought I'd take some time to reflect on lessons I've learned about running a business these past four years. In this episode I talk about why you don't need to f*cking scale your business, why regulation is the most important business skill you can learn, how 2023 has been for me compared to past years financially, what I'm noticing in what my audience is desiring, trends I'm generally seeing in the industry, and more. Enjoy!

229: How to steward yourself through upleveling, uncertainty and transitions Oct 15, 2023
    Show notes

Are you finding yourself in a moment of transition, change, or upleveling? I know I am and I've heard this echoed from many of you in the Soother audience, too. As my work shifts and evolves, and I do too, I ponder today what we can do to gently support ourselves and steward ourselves as we navigate a time of uncertainty or upleveling. Plus, a live Tarot reading on this topic, too!

228: "I'll end up in jail, or all alone and homeless" Oct 08, 2023
    Show notes

This week, I talk about how one of the biggest fear I see in women when they think about taking non-traditional or unconventional risks (leaving a job, moving, anything financial-related) is the big, scary fear of either being arrested/ending up in jail, or ending up homeless, or as a "bag lady." We may poke fun at ourselves when we name this fear, but it has a really serious, deep and ancestral origin that's based in historical occurrences of the past, and I want to dive into that today. Hopefully with this context we can understand where these types of fears come from, why they are with us, and how we can begin to move through them and heal them.

227: Answering 3 of your questions about how to lead as a highly sensitive person Oct 01, 2023
    Show notes

Hey Soothers! The Highly Sensitive Person Leadership Academy closes TONIGHT at midnight ET so in honor of this round of enrollment I'm answering three great audience questions:

    1. How do you show up fully and authentically as your highly sensitive self if it doesn't feel safe?
    2. Feeling intimidated at work and shutting down
    3. Consistency at work

Enjoy, and I'd love to see you inside of HLA - it won't open until summer 2024 again for enrollment.

226: Are you the rock, or the river? Sep 24, 2023
    Show notes

Hey Soothers! In today's podcast, I explain a metaphor I've been using a lot in my 1:1 coaching lately: That of the rock, and the river. In this metaphor, the rock is the person tossed around by the river, at the mercy of the river, without much agency or control in how it gets swept along. The river, on the other hand, is the life force that moves as it will. When we're in passive mode, not setting boundaries, giving away our power to others, we can think of that like being the rock. But when we're the river, we shift into a force of energy that is powerful. So tune in to hear about how you can become more like the river in your own life.

225: What is small leadership? Sep 17, 2023
    Show notes

As I continue to talk about leadership and promote the Highly Sensitive Person Leadership Academy, a theme I want to touch on is that Small Leadership is a skill we're all going to be called on to develop in coming years. This is especially needed as we go into the diminishment of many larger systems outside of us, that we have up until now counted on to lead us. We're in a time when we're moving away from large, monolithic leadership, and we're going into an era of learning to rely on, tend to, step up within local communities. I know a lot of you don't view yourself as leaders, but I'm urging you to reconsider. Leadership isn't going to be optional in the future. We're all going to be called to step up in some way, whether we plan for it or not, whether we want to or not. And that's my mission with HLA. To give you the skills to handle leadership, when that time inevitably comes. That, to me, is small leadership.
HLA is now open, with enrollment closing October 1st. Just head here: http://www.catherinedandrews.com/hla
