What to Do When Social Media Feels Draining Nov 01, 2022
    Show notes

The social media struggle is REAL for many online coaches – especially those who don’t necessarily *want* to use the apps for sales and marketing but know they *need* to in order to grow their businesses.

But hear me out: What if creating content could be fun and fulfilling? What if posting, sharing and having conversations on social media was (GASP!) enjoyable instead of soul-sucking?

If that sounds impossible or highly unlikely, this episode is for you.

Today, I’m sharing how I approach content creation and why it works so well for me, along with mindset shifts and easy changes you can make to improve your experience and relationship with social media. You’ll also get my perspective on posting things that have nothing to do with your offer… and what I have to say might surprise you.

    In this episode, I cover:

The reality that sales and marketing are essential parts of your job as an online coach… *IF* you want to be successful [5:40]

Why social media platforms are so ideal for selling and promoting your coaching services [8:00]

The importance of mentally and emotionally getting on board with social media (and learning how to have fun along the way) [10:30]

How I approach content creation and why it works for me [12:40]

The problem with being too rigid, formulaic or calculated on social media [15:00]

Challenging your resistance to showing up on social media and creating content on a regular basis – what if you could enjoy the process? [17:40]

The sweet spot: Creating content you love that also helps you accomplish your marketing goals… and sometimes, just posting whatever you want [23:55]

Establishing social media boundaries to protect your mental health [25:30]

Trusting the process and staying consistent – even when it feels like nothing is going your way and no one is paying attention [30:25]

Marketing Mistakes MOST Coaches Are Making Oct 25, 2022
    Show notes

Fact: It’s not the smartest or most experienced coach who makes the most money online – it’s the coach who’s the best marketer.

Another fact: *ANYONE* can learn to be an awesome marketer who draws dream clients because there are certain things that work very well – like creating clear, high-impact brand messaging – and many that don’t work at all… which is what I see about 90% of online coaches doing on social media, in their emails, on their sales pages, etc.

Today’s episode is a perfect opportunity to learn from those mistakes and correct them moving forward. You’ll find out why being vague is a HUGE no-no, the many reasons “fluffy” marketing doesn’t work (yes, even if your copy is beautifully written), and what it *really* takes to connect with your audience on a deep and meaningful level.

    In this episode, I cover:

What it means to “nail” your marketing [3:30]

Why it’s more important than ever to level up your marketing efforts [5:50]

How I define “marketing” and why online business owners MUST understand how to effectively market their products and services if they want to be successful [7:50]

    Mistake 1: Creating non-niched messaging [10:00]

What you want your ideal clients to think when they come across your content and how to use SPECIFIC messaging to accomplish this goal [12:10]

Mistake 2: Using too much “fluff” in marketing [15:15]

An exercise my Wellness CEO Mastermind clients do to ensure their marketing efforts aren’t just scratching the surface (to make connections, you’ve gotta go DEEP) [22:15]

Mistake 3: Focusing more on a program’s features rather than the transformation or results it can provide [24:55]

The most important takeaway from this episode [25:40]

How to Make CONSISTENT Sales in Your Coaching Biz Oct 18, 2022
    Show notes

Contrary to popular belief, selling does NOT have to be unpredictable and inconsistent – my business is proof of that. And because I don’t believe in gatekeeping, today I’m sharing EXACTLY how to get out of the “show up on social media and cross my fingers that I make a sale” cycle.

If you’re an online coach or any type of online service provider, you’ll definitely want to listen to this episode. The fact is, we are in the sales business – so the sooner you figure out how to make consistent sales through a proven, repeatable process that you can count on, the better.

Otherwise… there’s a good chance you won’t be in business for long.

    In this episode, I cover:

How having unpredictable or inconsistent sales often results in coaches feeling anxious, fearful and unstable in their businesses [3:00]

The importance of understanding the fundamentals of sales and digital marketing [6:30]

Sales planning – what you’re going to sell and how you’ll sell it (hint: your plan should NOT include hoping for the best and crossing your fingers) [8:50]

What I learned about sales planning from launching the first round of Balance & Thrive, my signature online group fitness coaching program [11:45]

How I help my Wellness CEO Mastermind clients with sales planning [15:25]

Understanding and utilizing a sales process and the four things that should be happening in your business every day [18:40]

Ways to generate leads in your business [21:45]

How to nurture your leads and create an audience full of warm or hot leads [22:40]

Navigating the lead qualification process (and why you shouldn’t skip this step!) [23:25]

Closing leads – aka actually making the sale and generating revenue! [25:05]

Identifying what helps your business grow and thrive and doubling down on it [27:15]

Why having more followers isn’t the answer to increasing your sales [27:55]

The power of consistency and why you need to view your business as exactly that – a BUSINESS (which means you’ve gotta put in the work) [29:35]

Proof that my sales strategies and tactics work VERY well when they’re consistently and correctly implemented [32:40]

7 Fears Holding You Back From Starting Your Online Biz (& How To Overcome Them) Sep 20, 2022

In today’s episode, I’m discussing – and debunking – 7 of the most common fears that keep people from launching or growing an online coaching business, and I’m giving my best advice for overcoming those fears.

These are not only fears that I’ve personally dealt with but also fears that I help my clients move past every day, so chances are this episode will include something YOU have felt or are feeling, too.

If you’re looking for an excuse not to chase your dreams, this definitely is *not* the episode for you. However, if you’re interested in practical, real-life tips and strategies for dealing with your fears and insecurities so they don’t hold you back (all from a business coach who’s been in the online coaching industry for 7+ years), you’re in the right place!

Fear #2: “What I want to do/share/create has already been done.” [15:05]

    Fear #3: “I don’t even compare to other coaches – everyone else is better/more educated/smarter/fitter than I am.” [18:50]

Fear #4: “I’m not good enough, and I don’t have what it takes – and other people are going to find out that I’m a fraud.” [23:58]

Fear #5: “What if I fail my clients?” [29:55]

Fear #6: “I’m afraid of being judged – what will people think or say about me if I become a coach?” [38:40]

Fear #7: “I have no idea how to do [insert thing here] – I don’t even know where to start.” [44:10]

How a business coach (and a program like FCBA) can help you bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to go [45:10]

Business Boundaries for Peaceful, Successful Coaches Sep 06, 2022
    Show notes

Setting boundaries as a business owner isn’t just a good idea – it’s ESSENTIAL. Unfortunately, that’s a lesson I had to learn the hard way.

Not only did failing to set boundaries early in my coaching business steal my energy and reduce my ability to fully show up for my clients, but it also kept me from enjoying my personal life and resulted in serious burnout. 10/10 would *NOT* recommend.

However, I learned a lot from my mistakes – and so can you. Today, I’m sharing the 6 boundaries that I recommend coaches and service providers set and abide by ASAP.

Listen to this episode to learn why I’m a big believer in set working hours (nope, they aren’t just for the 9-5-ers!), the many reasons you shouldn’t give your clients your personal cell phone number, how you can ensure your clients get the best possible care WITHOUT you having to be constantly available, and so much more.

    In this episode, I cover:

My definition of boundaries, why I used to think they were rude, and how I came to realize they are NOT bad and are actually *very* important [3:30]

Lesson 1: Coaches need set working hours, full days off and weekends (even if your weekend isn’t the traditional Saturday and Sunday) [8:55]

Lesson 2: Your clients don’t need your personal cell phone number [16:00]

Lesson 3: Turn off the notifications on your phone now – seriously, NOW! [17:20]

Lesson 4: Set and clearly communicate your boundaries and expectations with your clients at the beginning of your working relationship [23:50]

Lesson 5: Establish and enforce strong financial boundaries with your clients [29:15]

Lesson 6: Set the mental and emotional boundaries that will allow you to unplug from work and release responsibilities that are not yours to take on [34:10]

Overcoming Discouragement in Business Aug 30, 2022
    Show notes

I know from personal experience that discouragement is one of the biggest challenges business owners face. It’s also very dangerous because, if we aren’t careful, our discouragement can fester, grow and, ultimately, harm or even RUIN our businesses.

That’s because we often stop taking action when we feel discouraged. Not only will prolonged inaction kill our progress, but it also makes us feel more and more hopeless – and once hope is gone, it’s just too easy to quit altogether. It’s a slippery slope.

But there’s good news: You CAN overcome this all-too-common feeling, and today I’m showing you how. You’ll walk away from this episode with a better understanding of how discouragement can impact you and your actions, and you’ll learn easy-to-implement strategies for navigating discouraging situations and experiences.

Along with helping you feel more prepared to combat discouragement the next time it pops up, I hope this episode gives you the boost of encouragement you need if you’re going through a tough time. Keep showing up, and remember – as long as you don’t quit, your success is inevitable. You’ve got this!

    In this episode, I cover:

Why I believe discouragement is one the most dangerous things business owners encounter [4:00]

How discouragement leads to self-sabotage, all-or-nothing thinking and other behaviors that keep us from getting what we want [7:40]

The ways I’ve seen my clients’ discouragement lead to catastrophizing [9:55]

Making everything our fault when we feel discouraged [11:55]

The habit of avoidance and how it relates to feelings of discouragement [13:25]

Why your response to discouragement can make or break your business [14:30]

The importance of not numbing out and actually feeling and facing your feelings – including discouragement [18:50]

The power of asking yourself what *IS* and what is *NOT* objectively true [20:30]

What can happen when you challenge your negative beliefs and turn your focus to empowerment [22:15]

“Trying on” positive thoughts rather than forcing positivity and optimism [24:20]

Doing the work – even if it doesn’t feel easy or rewarding in the moment [26:00]

The reality that whatever you’re discouraged about likely does NOT have the power to end your business or prevent you from succeeding [28:35]
