035 | Todd Durkin Shares How a NO from Nike and Adidas Led to Success!

Todd Durkin, MA, CSCS, is an internationally recognized strength, speed and conditioning coach, personal trainer, body worker, motivational speaker, and author who motivates, educates, and inspires people worldwide. He is the founder of Fitness Quest 10 in San Diego, CA, a world-class facility that provides personal training, strength and conditioning, therapeutic massage and bodywork, pilates, yoga, nutrition, chiropractic and physical therapy programs.

Are you struggling to find the positive in every NO that you receive?

My guest, Todd Durkin, shares some of his devastating NO's, but how each and every one was turned around by keeping his mind right. Todd shares how any one of us can use this same method to improve our mindset which will then improve our sales calls and revenue.

Todd experienced a pretty massive NO, when he was turned down by Nike and Adidas. You'd think might lead someone to throw their hands up and quit, but instead it was this NO that put fire in Todd's belly to keep on pushing through. In the end those NO's are what led to some of Todd's biggest success.

Take that as a lesson, never allow a single NO to bring you down for too long. Use each one as a stepping stone to learn something new, and keep your mind right by repeating positive mantras when the going gets tough.

Todd shares how he went from a people pleasing paper boy to an incredibly successful coach, in this MUST LISTEN episode of Success Unfiltered.

How Do You Build Sales Relationships? | Coffee Is For Closers

On today's episode of Coffee is for Closers, I'm talking about how to start building long-term relationships today so that your business has long-term success!

Building a business takes time. Making true connections takes time. And in this fast-paced, instant-messenger, want-it-NOW culture, nobody seems to want to wait for anything.

Taking the time to get to know your prospects is becoming a lost art. Things like listening more than you talk, reaching out simply to say hello, or listening to your clients talk about their lives seems too old-fashioned. Way too slow. And not worth the effort.

But as an entrepreneur or salesperson, you need to know how to build sales relationships and build rapport. If you take the time, do the work, and get to know your people, something magical is going to happen. You are going to stand out. You'll be remembered. And you'll be more appreciated by prospects, clients, and influencers alike.

Most of all, when it comes time to close the deal, the client is going to remember the one who took the time to get to know THEM.

    Today You'll learn:

    - How to keep track of the details your prospects share

    - How to follow up without it taking up all your time

    - How to set yourself apart as THE go-to person for your client's needs (and yes, actual PHONE calls are involved!).

Ready cultivate that relationship and take it to a WHOLE new level?

Check out this guide from The Pitch Queen called "Rules Of Engagement: How To Keep The Fire Burning For Long-Term Business Relationship Bliss". It'll help you get focused, get organized, and make the crucial steps of relationship-building a part of your everyday life (without taking over your life)! Get it right HERE!

032 | How Mindee Hardin went from a $15M in Sales to ZERO

Mindee Hardin is the founder of Juicebox Moms where she has helped over 300 Mom inventors through the joys and trials of bringing their ideas to life while they juggle the heart tugs and demands of a family. She has been an entrepreneur for 12 years and most widely known for her success as the inventor of Boogie Wipes, saline wipes for kids stuffy noses. Mindee has been featured on the Today Show, The Big Idea, Good Morning America, Fox News and in People Magazine.

Often when we think of someone inventing a product, we assume that it will always be their product to make money from, but Mindee shares her story of going from $15 million in sales to being removed completely from the company.

This might have kept many people from going forward in their lives or career, but this wasn't the case for Mindee. She began a coaching and consulting business where she works with mom business owners to build a business that allows for business and family fulfillment.

Mindee also shares her story of being in a trademark battle for a new product she has invented.

All of this entrepreneurial experience has taught Mindee a very important lesson: Live in the NOW, not the when.

David is married to his beautiful wife Vee, and has two daughters with another on the way. David lives by the famous words of Zig Ziglar "Help enough people get what they want and you end up with what you want."

David has been involved with sales for most of his life, and it is because of his rough upbringing that he is as resilient as he is. He had experienced some scary things as a child, which has led him to understand that each NO is just another step in the direction to a YES.

Early in David's real estate career, he began working with a potential client who seemed like a very promising lead. David spent months grooming him, getting him ready to sign a contract but the prospect continued to refuse, which eventually led to David's most profound NO.

Being in business is never easy, there are some major struggles that can occur and can knock us off our feet. David helps us to understand that by building a resilience muscle, we can begin looking at NO's as just another step to YES.

In this episode, David takes the time to share his expertise on building that resilience muscle, as well as how we can continue to believe in ourselves despite multiple failures. This is a MUST LISTEN!

So often entrepreneurs look at each NO as a failure, but Christine doesn't waste her time thinking that way. Instead she believes that there is a YES to be found in every NO, you just need to find the way there.

Christine shares some of her biggest NO's, like having to deal with a huge two year lawsuit that she couldn't talk with anyone about. She had to keep her upbeat, positive nature even on the toughest days. The reason she was so successful in doing this is because she had great support in her lawyers and business insurance.

In this episode not only does Christine share why having a positive outlook is so important in business, but she also shares why having great business insurance and supportive lawyers is so important.

029 | Larry Marcus Tells Us Why Experiencing Fire in the Belly is So Important in Business

Larry Marcus has a long and successful background in media, marketing and finance. Having served in the capacities of CEO, CFO, and VP Business Affair of several large and small media companies, he is currently, Principal of Marcus Strategies, a business consulting practice, the Managing Partner of Marcus Investments as well as Chief Executive Officer of Peak Media Holdings, an investor in television stations. Additionally, Larry is an Angel investor for half a dozen early stage start-ups.

In his current semi-retirement mode, Larry is and has been involved with multiple non profits, serving San Diego's inner city youth, economic environmental impact and hospice care among them.

Larry has experienced a lot in business, beginning his career in media at the age of 12 or 13, with a neighborhood paper route. His parents were from the depression-era and were constantly telling Larry NO to the things he wanted. He made it his life's mission to learn how to turn every NO into a YES.

Larry takes us through many of the NO's he heard and how he worked to flip that answer.

The number one thing to learn from Larry is that you need to find your fire in the belly. Once you've discovered that and where it comes from, it becomes easier to grow your career or business. You won't let anything stand in the way of your drive to move forward.

Join the conversation with Larry, and hear how he's successfully grown several businesses as well as become an amazing angel investor (who almost invested in my last company, FITzee Foods).
