How To Get Paid What You're Worth EVERY Time | Coffee Is For Closers

As an entrepreneur or salesperson, you have to know how to get paid what you're worth...and that means you have to ASK for it!

This just might be the biggest determining factor in whether you love your business, love your clients, and love your life….or not.

Selling yourself short is all too common in business, and something almost all entrepreneurs are going to have to deal with. Sometimes you offer bargain rates because you want to help everybody. Other times you lowball yourself out of fear. Still other times you short-change yourself because you never really considered what your worth truly was.

Believe it or not, undercharging opens the door to a host of potential sabotages. When you don't honor yourself and accept less than what you're worth, eventually your business becomes a job. One that causes you stress, frustration, and resentment.

Eventually the quality of your work and the satisfaction with your business goes right out the window, right along with your sanity. It's a lose-lose situation, not only for yourself, but also for the people you serve.

That's not what I want for you. That's why on today's episode I'm sharing how you can stop undercharging, start owning your value, and finally raise the bar for yourself, your business, and your clients.

Stop the cycle of undercharging for your services, underestimating your value, and short-changing yourself. It's time for you to know yourself, own your value, and step into the true rock-star entrepreneur that you are. This is the single best thing you can do for clients, your business, AND yourself. How to Find Support To Achieve Your Goals | Coffee Is For Closers

If you want to be a successful entrepreneur or salesperson, you need to have support to achieve your goals. I call this person your champion. They are someone that will root for you, keep you accountable and help you be your personal best. I'm sharing my tips and tricks to help you find that person and even become your OWN champion!

One of my personal champions joined me for this episode.

One of the biggest achievements of my professional life was getting my line of ready-to-eat meals and protein bars into the well-known national retailer Vitamin Shoppe. Michael Martin was instrumental in that endeavor, and he's been my champion and friend ever since!

Michael joined me on Coffee Is For Closers to share his thoughts on owning yourself, staying in your lane, and remembering that what others think of you is none of your business.

But let's be honest: most of us are a lot more worried about being criticized for speaking our truth than we are of failure itself. That's why the fear of being judged by others is one of the biggest game-stoppers for any entrepreneur.

Being a buyer for a billion dollar company, Michael has seen his share of elevator pitches and sales presentations. And he'll be the first to tell you that the most successful entrepreneurs out there don't let that nagging fear of failure stop them from making a sales pitch at all.

The ones who make it are the ones who show up, do their thing with passion, and accept the feedback they get without taking it personally. And you can do that very thing, too.

Michael and I hit on all kinds of tips for owning your mission, such as….

    - How your self-talk affects your mindset (and how to tweak it in your favor)

    - Why owning your own enthusiasm makes you real and relatable (instead of annoying)

    - How finding a champion to support you and share your vision is invaluable (he and I should know!)

    - Why taking on challenges outside of entrepreneurship makes you a more resilient business owner (and human being, for that matter!)

How to Be More Resilient | Coffee Is For Closers

If you want to be a successful entrepreneur or salesperson, you MUST know how to be more resilient. It is almost a guarantee that you're going to get a lot of NO's. Having a strong resilience muscle and self confidence is key to helping you get more sales and close more deals which will ultimately help you serve more people with your product or service!

Let's face it. Business and entrepreneurship is an amazing and exhilarating life, but it is not for the faint of heart. You have to take a lot of hits. Withstand a lot of doubters and naysayers. And get right back up EVERY time you get knocked down.

Resilience is a key trait for any successful entrepreneur. That ability to get back up when you fall is paramount if you want to live your dreams. And nobody knows that better than my friend and real estate rockstar Carlos Gutierrez.

When it comes to staying strong through the slings and arrows of the entrepreneur life, Carlos has it down to a science. He communicates with up to 40 prospects a day, does it with passion and purpose, and never lets the "NO's" or the naysayers get him down.

If you want to learn how to remain standing in a world of negative Nancys, Carlos can show you the way!

In this episode, we talk about:

    - How to resolve conflicts with clients while keeping your cool

    - How to focus on your mission and not care what people think

    - How to stay positive, inspired, and resilient in a very competitive field (it's all about being the best YOU that you can be)

Remember, "What other people think of me is none of my business."

How to Believe In Yourself More | Coffee Is For Closers

On this episode of Coffee is for Closers, I'm talking about how to believe in yourself more. As an entrepreneur or salesperson, you need to believe in yourself and your worth and your value. I give you my best tips and tricks to grow your confidence because if you believe in yourself, others will too.

Now, I know what you might be thinking. You've probably heard this all before. But stay with me on this. Why? Because it really IS that important.

You could have the world's best marketing. The most legit sales funnel on the planet. Even the most effective products or services known to man.

But if YOU aren't 100% behind it, it's not going to take off. If you don't believe in yourself so deeply that 100 naysayers couldn't talk you down, you probably won't get past "go."

It comes down to one simple truth: if you don't believe in yourself, how will anyone else believe in you? (Or buy from you, for that matter?) If you want to be a successful entrepreneur, you must believe in yourself and your business.

You already know that people want to buy from people. But they don't want to buy from just anybody. They want to buy from someone who is so sold on who they are and what they do that it's palpable.

So how do you actually make that happen? Are there really practical steps to help you kick up your confidence and build up your belief in yourself from the inside out? That's what this week's show is ALL about!

If you're ready to learn exactly what you can do to boost your confidence and tap into your inner superstar, this episode is for you! I share everything I know about the power of self-confidence, from how it helped me launch my current business to that one time I got on a little show called "Shark Tank." (True story!)

036 | Mel Robbins Shares How NOT Making the NY Times Best Seller List Led to Success!

Mel Robbins is the international best-selling author of The 5 Second Rule, one of the most booked speakers in the world, and a social media influencer reaching more than 20 million people a month.

If you were to ask any entrepreneur for their top 10 book list from 2017, I'd bet that a majority of them would have The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins, on the list. It is the most downloaded, self-published books on Audible, but what you may not realize is that Mel experienced some pretty serious NO's during the publishing process, but she NEVER allowed them to get her down for too long.

Choosing to be a self-published author comes with its own set of difficulties, but add to the mix that Tony Robbins' book was going to publish on the same day, you are left with a pretty stressful situation.

Mel's philosophy? Get comfortable with the unknown! It may not be fun, but if you practice being in this state BIG THINGS can happen!

In this episode, Mel shares some rarely heard stories of publishing her book and how NOT making the NY Times Best Seller list eventually led to major success for her. Download this MUST LISTEN episode of Success Unfiltered!

How to Work the Room (Networking 101) | Coffee Is For Closers

As an entrepreneur or salesperson, you need a system for how to work the room (aka networking) at a conference, meeting or other live event. Today I'm giving you my best sales tips, secrets and tricks that will help you get in contact with more people that matter.

This week we took relationship management to a whole new place: the REAL world! I'm talking live events. Networking get-togethers. Trade shows. Places where you can actually speak to mentors, speakers, teachers, and influencers face-to-face.

Sounds kind of radical in a world that's gone overwhelmingly online, doesn't it?

But trust me: Making an In Real Life - "IRL" connection with a live person beats sending them 10 emails or giving them 20 Facebook likes & comments.

People need to connect with real people. And live events or live functions are STILL one of the best ways to build relationships that stay with someone a lot longer than a text or a tweet.

But if the idea of walking into a conference hall, walking up to a stranger, and extending your hand sounds about as terrifying as rollerskating across a bridge at rush hour, then this week's episode is for you!

You CAN do this, I promise. You already have the skills it takes to work a room with confidence. All you need is a plan.

On today's episode you will learn:

    - How to research and prepare before a networking event

    - How to choose the people you want to meet

    - What to say when you meet someone important

    - How to follow up after a networking event
