017 | Scott Kucirek Explains the Importance of Striving for a Positive Mindset

On this week's episode, we have one of the founders of the yummy candy line, OCHO candy, Scott Kucirek. He currently runs the day-to-day operations of the company, overseeing manufacturing, sales, business planning, finance and marketing. I really love this candy! I'm borderline obsessed!

Scott shares with us the many ups and downs he experienced in his life, all while keeping a positive mindset. Scott was in the Navy, but he decided it was time to resign his position and apply to the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. Initially, he was not accepted, which threw him for a loop because his entire plan (at the time) had been surrounding going to business school.

Scott would not let that stop him!. He started networking with anyone and everyone who would listen, about how he didn't get in. This networking led to some pretty amazing things for Scott, and he shares them all in this week's episode right here!

Scott shares how taking action, focusing on the positive and doubling down on your efforts when you really want something, will make ALL the difference in how successful your business is.

Enjoy, thank you for listening and tuning into Success Unfiltered!

016 | Tiffany Krumins Wants You to Know That You Are Enough

This week we have the inspirational, Tiffany Krumins on our show. She is the founder of Ava the Elephant, which is an amazing tool that has changed the way that caregivers look at medicine time with their children. Ava is now one of Shark Tank's most well-known and beloved successes.

Tiffany shared how she struggled to truly believe in herself, in the very beginning. She knew she had an incredible product that would help so many parents and caregivers, but when meeting with investors, she'd feel the pull of having to settle because she was concerned another investor would never come along, and she had big dreams for Ava.

She quickly realized that there would always be more investors, more retailers and more TV shows. That she did not have to let others dictate or try to change the way she ran her business or the way she behaved in business.

Tiffany now works to mentor other women to know they are worth it. That following their values is important and that they should never settle. That even if you don't fit into the typical business mold there are people who will want to work with you, just as you are.

Tiffany shares some of the major details of creating a product and trying to work with investors and retailers, in this episode.

014 | Kelli Masters Tells Us How Taking BIG Action Can Bring About Confidence

Today, I'm excited to introduce you to Kelli Masters the founder of KMM Sports, a full-service sports management company based in Oklahoma City. Kelli is an attorney and certified NFL sports agent. She continues to practice law as an Of Counsel member of Fellers Snider Law Firm, while also representing athletes in football, baseball and Olympic sports. In 2010, Kelli became the first woman to represent a first-round pick in the NFL Draft, and continues to fight for opportunities for women in a very male-dominated industry.

In high school, Kelli was known as introverted and shy, so when it came to the business world she had to quickly learn how to overcome that and let her blind confidence show.

In the beginning of Kelli's career, she had experienced quite a few NO's. She knew that when she became an entrepreneur she had signed-up for a full time sales job, so she quickly learned that in order to succeed in business she needed to have a really clear understanding of what she was getting into, and plenty of knowledge about the industry.

009 | Pat Flynn Shows Us How to Build Relationships to Build Your Business

Hello and welcome to today's episode! I'm thrilled to introduce you to Pat Flynn of The Smart Passive Income Podcast. In today's episode, Pat tells us all about his first foray into creating software, and how it didn't go well. It's a great story to hear because so often we think that successful entrepreneurs never have failures, but we all do.

Pat shares 3 typical business practices that we should all avoid when starting in business, and provides better alternatives to these.

Most entrepreneurs know who Pat Flynn is. They're familiar with his amazing podcast, and many are familiar (and have purchased) his courses. Pat regularly provides his audience with incredible content that is full of knowledge, but recently he was asked by Chalene Johnson to speak at her Marketing Impact Academy conference, under the condition that Pat must sell his new podcast course to her audience at the end of his presentation. Pat talks about why this made him uncomfortable and the end result.

Building a relationship is the number 1 thing you can do to grow your business, and Pat tells us all about the best ways to do it.

Have you been wondering how you can make more sales and serve more people in your business without having to be sleazy? Pat has you covered in this episode!

Enjoy and Thank you for listening to Success Unfiltered!

008 | Emily Page Shares Why Persistence Pays Off

Welcome to today's episode! I'm excited to introduce you to Emily Page, the founder of Pearl Resourcing. Emily shares some amazing insights into why being persistent in business can make an incredible difference in the connections you make and the speed at which you grow.

Let me tell you a not so little secret, in order to really get ahead in your business, you MUST be persistent. You must connect with people, send emails, and put yourself into uncomfortable positions-- These are the things that will get you ahead and help your business grow.

Uncomfortable situations are scary, and so many people avoid them, but it is probably one of the best ways to meet new people and get your name out there. For example, at Emily's very first trade show, she took samples of her products and went into other's booths, asking multiple questions, which led to some of Emily's current clients.

Emily also discusses how important it is to reach out and connect regularly with your clients. You want them to know how much you value their business and how seriously you take their work.

Have you been struggling to make any connections in your business? Or have your leads dried up? Emily has you covered in this special episode!
