    Show notes

This week on Jeb in Flow we're talking about mental toughness as it applies to physical training and other areas of life in which that may be a requirement. This is a term that is overused and terribly misunderstood. Many people think "If I was more mentally tough, I could push harder so if I push harder, I will become more mentally tough" Well, it's not that simple and that's also not exactly true.

What are you doing for recovery? What is recovery? Is there a difference between a rest day, a recovery day, and a cheat day? The physiological adaptations that take place as a result of exercise do so during your recovery period. This qualifies the necessity not only of recovery but of being intentional and deliberate with how you choose to recover.

To compete, means to seek together. You can't dislike your opponent if your opponent brings out the best in you. Don't let your workouts tell you how fit you are. They are not a test or an assessment. Instead, they should be viewed as an opportunity to get better, to learn and to grow.

Your Brain Cells are Laughing Aug 03, 2020
    Show notes

Mirror neurons are a type of neuron that fire when a person performs a motor act and also when they observe another person performing the same or similar act. Mirror neuron activity is observable earlier than 12 months old. They've shed a lot of light on human social interaction.

We are social creatures. We mirror what we experience or what we see others experience. If we are constantly watching people argue, name call, or attack each other, we feel the same sense of anger, resentment, irrational emotional instability that we witness in others.

But Jeb, haven't you repeatedly told us that it's all about making decisions? Well, yes.
