It's safe to say that we all have some invisible dragons that we are dealing with on the regular. By invisible dragons, I mean things like self sabotage, staying a little too much inside our comfort zone and fearing that we're just not cut out for the bigger plans that we're cooking up inside of our heads. Danya Douglas-Hunt is my special guest today and she is going to share with us her expertise in slaying these types of invisible dragons, the ones that threaten to hold us back. She shares so many different pieces of wisdom and advice. By the end of the episode, I think you're going to learn a lot about how to work with your intuition and your biggest plans.

Danya is a former Olympic athletic therapist and strength and conditioning coach, turned multi-passionate entrepreneur, who now coaches high performing entrepreneurs to their next level of income, impact and inner growth. She is a certified Neuro Linguistic Programming Practitioner, a life and success coach, a time techniques practitioner, a clinical hypnotherapist and an Emotion Freedom Techniques facilitator. Outside of her one on one and small group coaching, she is trained by and coaches on James Wedmore’s team and does performance coaching for Pure Life Organics.

Do you have difficulty coping with the day to day struggles of being a parent? Parenting is certainly an inherently complicated job to take on. And that is why I was so grateful to have DJ Stutz on this episode. DJ has an immense love for children and fully understands the challenges and concerns that come with parenting them. My sense after interviewing her is that she is a child whisperer. How Absolutely Anyone Can Conquer Procrastination and Win Their Time Back with Dr. Christine Li and Dr. Kathy Zhang Feb 03, 2022
    Show notes

Send Dr. Li a text here. Please leave your email address if you would like a reply, thanks.

In this episode, I was a guest on The Purpose Filter podcast and interviewed by Dr. Kathy Zhang who asked me the most wonderfully deep and meaningful questions about procrastination. She even wove in a discussion about how she herself is a procrastinator.

You probably think you've heard it all when it comes to procrastination, but Dr. Zhang and I took that conversation so much deeper. We not only unpack why people push off projects until the very end, but also explore the mindset, unconscious habits, identity and behaviors of a chronic procrastinator. We discussed the primary reasons why people procrastinate and how procrastination manifests as a consequence of mental clutter, fog or underlying anxiety. And I share how a strong sense of self can help "S.M.A.C.K." the procrastination habits that are keeping us from living our best lives. If you've ever pushed something off to the last minute or thought "hmm, I can finish that tomorrow", then you've landed on the right episode!

Dr. Luyi Kathy Zhang, is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at New York University, and the host of the Purpose Filter Podcast, where she shares stories and insights in inspiring interviews to help people transform their lives from the inside out. Her mission is to bring the clarity, purpose and meaning that comes with confronting our mortality to those fortunate enough not to have to…because everyone deserves to live the life they want, with the time they have left.

    Timestamps:

    • [3:50] I explain how I became a Procrastination Coach…
    • [5:57] Dr. Zhang wants to know the deeper meaning of procrastination… beyond putting something off or delaying it.
    • [14:38] I explain the S.M.A.C.K. technique which helped me set the stage for my own better functioning as a procrastinator…
    • [23:11] Dr. Zhang says “I see it in myself, putting things off because I want it to be as perfect as possible because I don't want others to judge me, or feel ashamed of my performance.”

There's always a spirit of change and self improvement in the air around the New Year. With the ringing out of the old and ushering of the new, the vast majority are contemplating habits they want to change. What better time than the beginning of a new year to pause and reflect on what we need to work though and release and how we can do that. My special guest, Adrienne Glasser, is the perfect person to show us how to find compassion within ourselves and to make space for newness and change.

She serves as the Executive Advisor to Breathe Life Healing Centers where she runs experiential groups and advises on compassionate and contemplative treatment of addictions and trauma using IFS. Here's Your Successful Self Meditation for the New Year Jan 06, 2022

Each New Year brings with it a rush of new energy, with the world ready to start new habits and get off to a fresh start. The chance to begin again is truly a great feeling.

What can come with the New Year is also a bit of pressure — pressure to have resolutions that stick, habits that are better, and everything proceeding in perfect time. It can end up feeling like a lot of pressure.

In this episode, you will have a chance to reflect on this special time and what success really means and feels like to you. We can spend all of our time and energy chasing success on the outside, when in reality, we already know what it feels like from within. Take a few minutes with the Successful Self meditation inside this episode to envision what your successful self looks like, what your mind and body are telling you about what you want and need, and what you would like to feel in this New Year.

You might be surprised how successful you’ll feel at the end of the meditation, knowing that you can feel your most powerful self by slowing yourself down and focusing within!
