    MOTM #675: Handling Cancellations Jul 28, 2025
    Show notes

Cancellations are an inescapable part of running an online business, and if you care about what you do, they’re most likely going to hurt a little bit. A cancellation can feel like a knock to your self-worth and the value of what you do (not to mention the financial impact of a cancellation) but when you think about your own cancelling and unsubscribing habits, they usually aren’t personal. To me, the goal is to get to a place where you can feel completely objective about getting cancelled on. It may take some time, some mindset work, and some intentionality, but it is possible.

    Let’s chat.

Welcome to Maestro on the Mic, a podcast that helps online business owners find their passion, generate more profit, and build a life that they love. I'm your host, Dr. Shanté Cofield, aka The Movement Maestro, and I’m stoked to have you here. I hope this podcast inspires you to make moves and do the thing. Action is the answer.

    In This Episode You'll Hear:

    • The first cancellation is gonna hurt
    • Loss of money is a real concern
    • Over time, you get more data
    • Understanding your own value and worth
    • Get tactical about letting people go

    Show notes

Starting over is never really starting over—you always carry your past experiences with you. So when you’re feeling the urge to start over, lean in. I’ll never advocate for burning your life down without any safety precautions, but if you’re craving something new, you’ll never know if it can turn into something more unless you try it out. When something new comes up, lean in.

    Let’s chat.

MOTM #672: It’s Always New to Someone Jul 07, 2025
    Show notes

Everything you say—even if you’ve said it a million times—will always be new to someone. It’s a simple enough statement, but it’s so easy to forget just how true it is. When you’ve talked and talked about a concept or idea for a while, it feels obvious to you, but every single one of us started out as a newbie in whatever we’re an expert on now. Remember those newbies, and talk to them. They need you.

MOTM #671: Are Ads Killing Your Confidence? Jun 30, 2025
    Show notes

I love getting ads online, but when I say ads I mean the kind showing me some shorts I’d like to buy, not the kind that tell me my business sucks and I need to hire a coach to make it suck less. Coaching is great—I am one!—but there are people out there that sow insecurity with their ads and promise a magic pill that will fix all your woes if you just give them money. Bullshit. If you’ve seen an ad that makes you feel insecure, it might be worth looking in to, but there’s a chance it’s worth ignoring, too.

MOTM #670: How to Make People Care Jun 23, 2025
    Show notes

When the work is as shitty as it is right now, how the hell do you get the people around you to start caring? Well, you don’t. You can’t! It’s frustrating and at times demoralizing, but y’all know I’m all about taking ownership of what you CAN control, instead of allowing yourself to become a victim of circumstance. So you can’t make anyone care, but you can be the first to care, and you can make caring contagious. Make giving a shit cool again.

    MOTM #669: Narrative Warfare Jun 16, 2025
    Show notes

In the same way that history is written by the victors, the social narrative gets decided by the best storyteller. The way the story gets told changes the way that the story is received, which directly effects the outcome of any given situation. When liars, racists, or any other genre of assholes are telling the story, we get a shitty outcome. When we know this, we have a say in deciding who controls the narrative.

MOTM #668: Online Business: Uphill Both Ways? Jun 09, 2025
    Show notes

Running an online business sometimes feels like like walking to and from your destination uphill, both ways. This shit takes a hell of a lot of work and—especially at the beginning of your journey—often the amount of work you’re putting in doesn’t feel commensurate with the amount of money you’re making. MOTM #667: Grill the Fruit, Skip the Launch Jun 02, 2025
    Show notes

It’s summer and if there’s one piece of advice you should take from me, it’s this: your work can wait. Every summer, things start to slow down, and I think you should be one of them. Summer is for being present and savoring all the little moments. So maybe put a pause on your next launch, get outside, and eat some damn fruit.

    MOTM #666: I Don’t Believe in Charging Your Worth May 26, 2025
    Show notes

Whoever came up with the idea to “charge your worth” didn’t know what the hell they were talking about. I’m it’s well intentioned and it’s a saying to encourage others to charge more for their services, but “worth” is something ill-defined and highly subjective. Wouldn’t it be better to charge what you need? Because damn it, well deserve to make enough to live our best lives.

    Let’s chat.

    In This Episode You'll Hear:

    • What does it even mean to charge your worth?
    • Charging what you need
    • The opposite of scarcity isn’t abundance
    • More stuff doesn’t mean more value
    • We should all be making more
