How She Overcame The Fear Factor in Pricing & Surpassed Six Figures with Kyshira Moffett Mar 18, 2020
    Show notes

This episode features the wonderful Kyshira Moffett who runs a program called the Founders Circle, working with freelancers and entrepreneurs to help them create their first packaged offer and sell via social media using an interactive sales method.

Before she would feel overwhelmed in her business, she now has an excited and optimistic outlook. You can hear the clarity and passion in her voice as she talks us through her inspirational success story.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • Where’s the money? - Even though Kyshira had an abundance of glowing testimonials, she still struggled to believe in her own value. She had plenty of clients but this wasn’t reflected in her bank balance. She had to change her outlook on money and put a price tag on the value she delivered..
    • Attracting better clients - After setting her higher price point, Kyshira noticed the clients she now attracted were much more passionate and willing to put in the work. This, in turn, encouraged Kyshira to level-up herself.
    • Where is your focus? - Over the last few years, Kyshira’s business model has evolved. Being at full capacity and not being able to fully enjoy her life to the fullest led her to narrow most of her focus on her one core offering.
    • Choose a coaching program for your level - Kyshira has worked with several coaches, with varying degrees of success. However, with Services That Sell, she found the right coaching program that was suited to where she was at, helping her to get to the next level.
    • Slow down to move forward - Kyshira had to make a mental shift when she was at full capacity. By cutting down on one-on-ones, she freed up space in her calendar, allowing her to prioritize her time more effectively and move forward in her business.
    • And lots more! Tune in now.

Should You Create A Course Or A Coaching Program? Mar 11, 2020
    Show notes

In this episode I’m going to break down with full transparency what’s required to create and sell each of these offers. If you’re exploring different business models (or you’re shifting back and forth) then this episode is a must listen.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • Get some clarity - First off, you have to clearly articulate what it is that you actually do. Too many people are confused by trying to offer a variety of services and are unclear on what their true offer is.
    • How to price a course? - Courses are typically more of a DIY experience as your clients will be working though the course by themselves. Also, clients don’t tend to have access to the course creator and the pricing point should reflect the level of support
    • What is a coaching program? - A coaching program tends to have a framework (like a course) but there will typically be a coach or various support methods as you work through the program.
    • Evolution of the industry - Today’s consumer has come to realize that signing up for a course may not lead to any results and is generally willing to pay over $2k for a coach that’s going to assist and hold them accountable.
    • Are you ready to build a course? - If you don’t have a proven, step-by-step framework then you’re not ready to build a course. Until you get to the course-building stage, however, coaching is a great way to develop your framework while generating revenue.
    • What if you’re an introvert? - While you have to respect your personality, if you want to be a coach or a teacher then you have to show up in your business, whether it’s via live video, podcasts, or another effective communication medium.
    • And lots more! Tune in now.

You and I both know that it’s time that you take full ownership of your expertise. Finally learn how to clarify your program promise, articulate your value, and organically launch your $3k - $10k group coaching program.

4 Pillars Of Building A $200k+ Coaching Practice In 12 Months or Less Mar 04, 2020
    Show notes

Today’s episode is going to be very helpful for you if you already have your business up and running and you’re making money. It’s not that hard to hustle your way to six figures if you’re willing to grind it out and put in the work. But what about when you want to grow to $200k and more? Going above and beyond requires a different way of thinking and focus. That’s where the 4 Pillars come into play. Grab your notebook and get ready for some nuggets of information coming your way.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode is extremely actionable and insightful. Here is a quick summary of the four pillars:

    • Simplicity - Is your business model too complex? If you’re selling multiple offers and having to work around the clock - the answer is yes. It’s time to cut back on your offers and do less, by putting all your focus into your single, flagship service.
    • Sales - You need to be a BEAST at sales… and no, I’m not talking about the sleazy-car salesman stereotype. It’s all about making contact with your ideal customer as frequently as possible. Educating yourself on sales psychology and how people make buying decisions is crucial.
    • Systems - When you’re hustling your way to your first six figures, it’s likely that you’re running forward non-stop and haven’t even thought about building systems. If you’re constantly doing repeat tasks manually then you need to be automating or delegating them. Document your processes and focus your time on what matters.
    • Support - You can’t get there alone. When you want to get to $200k and more, you have to ask yourself: “what support do I need?” Do you need a coach to advise you? What team members do you need around you? Do you need legal and accounting advice? What do you need to make sure you’re being your “best self”?
    • And lots more! Tune in now.

Black Entrepreneurship & The Wealth Gap Jan 20, 2020
    Show notes

I was laying in bed, 2:00am on a Sunday morning when I recorded this voice memo, sharing thoughts after having an in-depth conversation with a group of friends about the racial wealth gap. This is an uncut and raw dialogue sharing how I am leveraging my business to make strides towards closing the wealth gap, and how much perspective has changed over the past 3 years of being in business.

Raising your rate takes more effort than just deciding on a new price. Then comes the work of addressing the objections, effectively articulating your value in your marketing content, and designing curriculum that delivers on the promise you sold the client into. Need some help with this?

How To Pay Yourself & Earn Profit First In Your Coaching Business With Mike Michalowicz Dec 18, 2019
    Show notes

It’s been a long time coming, but here with me on today’s episode is Mike Michalowcz. If you follow me regularly, then you will have heard me mention his name on multiple occasions.

Mike is the author of a bunch of first-class business books, including Profit First and Clockwork, that I highly recommend you read. His Profit First method will simplify your finances and ensure that you pay yourself what you deserve from day one, and never miss a tax payment.

It doesn’t matter if it’s as little as 1%, you must start paying yourself immediately.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • Entrepreneurial poverty – Telling your friends that you’re an entrepreneur may give them an image of you being rich and living the high-life. In reality, most entrepreneurs are working all hours, highly stressed and struggling to survive. Mike’s mission is to close this gap. He believes you can live a great life and avoid working 16-hour days if you run things efficiently.
    • Every dollar has multiple responsibilities – You have to pay bills, taxes, your own compensation, and make a profit. Traditionally, profit is calculated by taking your sales and subtracting everything you spend. This makes logical sense. Unfortunately, it doesn’t fit with human nature. Mike recommends flipping the formula. For everything you earn, a certain percentage goes straight to your profit account.
    • Multiple bank accounts – To better align your business finances with human nature, Mike suggests having multiple bank accounts. He recommends that you have separate accounts for: receiving deposits (sales), paying your profit, owner’s compensation (your salary for running the business), paying taxes, and operating expenses. This gives you immediate clarity on how you can use your money. Your operating expenses are what you have to spend in the business after you’ve taken care of yourself. This forces you to try to improve your margins and make more money. Also, in following this method, you always have money available to pay your tax bills.
    • You’re a shareholder in your business -

No Excuses: How To Hold Yourself Accountable To An Outcome Not Just A List Of Tasks Dec 11, 2019
    Show notes

Do you ever find yourself falling short when it comes to getting the results you desire? Today’s episode is all about being accountable for oneself, and I’ll be dipping into my five building blocks to build accountability. This episode may be a reality check for a lot of you, but I think it’s going to help out a great deal.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • Why are you starting your own business? - Why do you want to start your own business vs being an employee? If you want to be in charge of your destiny and build something for yourself, great! If, on the other hand, you simply don’t want to have a boss who’s holding you accountable, then you could be in for a shock when you become your own boss.
    • See the bigger picture - Accountability isn’t merely about completing a list of tasks. It’s about being committed to seeing the objective through to completion. While getting the day-to-day tasks finished is essential, you have to understand how they relate to the bigger picture. Without the bigger picture in place, you can’t be accountable for achieving the overall objectives that will define your success.
    • How to make yourself accountable - Without a crystal clear expectation, it’s impossible to be accountable. Don’t just say you want more money, say exactly how much money you want and when you want to have earned it by. Your goals have to be measurable. Then you need to know how to go about achieving your goals. You have to be realistic about your capabilities and your capacity. Often, this means saying “no” to people who aren’t helping you get closer to your goal since you only have so much time and energy in a given day.
    • Your fear of asking for help can lead to failure - I get it! Many of you were forced to be self-sufficient in early life and have been doing a great job in taking care of yourselves without ever asking for help. Understand that business doesn’t work like this. If you’re used to going it alone and refusing to ask for help then you need a shift in mindset.
    • The importance of feedback - Feedback is essential and you have to get it regularly. Without honest feedback, how do you know whether you’re on track to achieving your goals? Beware though, if you’re asking for feedback from a spouse, bestie, a friend’s grandmother, or anyone that has no business experience. Make sure you get your feedback from people with relevant expertise and those who understand your context. If you don’t have any business-minded friends to ask, then join a mastermind group, hire a coach, or go out and make yourself some new friends. In Services That Sell I’m always personally holding my members accountable.
    • And lots more! Tune in now.
