Why This Copy Writer Bounced Back After Burning Down Her Successful Agency with Jamie Jensen May 20, 2020
    Show notes

Today’s episode features the amazing Jamie Jenson, who is sooo much more than a copywriter. She's an award-winning screenwriter, storyteller, mentor, and entrepreneur who founded a digital marketing agency that grew 50% year after year for 3 straight years. Not only does she strive to serve clients to the best of her ability but she leads with her heart. You’ll find her insight and perspective are incredibly inspiring...

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • Have fun - While writing the copy for her first business website, Jamie noticed she was having so much fun. It was a no-brainer to provide this service to other businesses and brands. Do what you love and you’ll greatly increase the likelihood of success.
    • Raising the rates - After establishing her business, Jamie had to have several significant shifts in her mindset to raise her rates as she became more business-like in her approach. She came to realize that her services were helping people make more money and she started to take notice of what other people in the market were charging.
    • Creating processes while serving - When creating her agency, Jamie was very committed to creating strict processes that her team and clients would follow. Even though they were rigid, these processes kept things moving forward and allowed client projects to be completed successfully.
    • Follow your heart, not your ego - While leading her agency, Jamie began to lose excitement about growing the business. Even though her ego loved being an “agency owner”, her heart didn’t want to pursue it. This led to her going back to what she loved most... working directly with clients to help tell their stories.
    • Accepting money lost - Jamie has a refreshing perspective on money that she’s “lost” in the past. Even if you spend big on something that doesn’t work out, consider the lessons you’ve learned. Accept that not all your choices will work out the way you want.
    • And lots more! Tune in now.

Raising your rate takes more effort than just deciding on a new price. Then comes the work of addressing the objections, effectively articulating your value in your marketing content, and designing curriculum that delivers on the promise you sold the client into. Need some help with this?

Choose Your Clients Wisely May 13, 2020
    Show notes

Choosing your clients wisely will not only make you more successful in business, but it can be the difference between happiness and unhappiness in everyday life.

In this episode, I’m going to be sharing how you can go about overcoming any resistance when it comes to choosing your clients more wisely.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • Do you have a fear of freedom? - While working in the corporate world, many people crave the freedom of choice. However, when they get it, they can often have a fear of making choices for themselves and being decisive.
    • The power of being selective - The more selective you become when choosing your clients, the better the clients are that you attract. This works in the same way as dating: if you’re willing to accept anyone, you’re probably not going to find the world’s best life partner. Learn to filter and be selective.
    • Get clear and specific - Define who your ideal client is and decide what problem you’re solving. When you begin effectively articulating the solution you’re providing, the right client will find you.
    • Is it a good fit? - There are a number of questions you need to ask yourself when you’re assessing a client. If you’re going to be coaching them, are they going to be committed to achieving the result? Are they a good fit for you and your personality?
    • How to reject a client - Rather than straight-up rejecting a potential client, be honest and explain how you may not be the right person to help them achieve the results they want. Be positive and refer them to a more appropriate service provider if possible.
    • And lots more! Tune in now.

How To Know When To Pivot In Your Coaching Business May 06, 2020
    Show notes

This episode is going to help you identify when is the right time to make adjustments to your business model and what you need to do in order to make it happen.

I’m going to be giving you guidance in relation to the three main phases that you will go through in your business: money, manage, and multiply.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • What phase are you at? - Before taking any kind of action, it’s necessary to identify the phase of your business that you’re in. Furthermore, you have to know where you are within each phase to ensure you’re focusing on the right thing at the right time.
    • Phase 1: Money - Your primary focus when you’re starting a business is to convert clients and deliver your service. There’s no point in thinking about things like branding or creating a pretty website until you’ve figured out how to bring in sufficient money.
    • Phase 2: Manage - Now you know how to sell your services and bring in the cash, you need to learn to manage your business. This includes things like managing your resources, building systems, and investing in marketing.
    • Phase 3: Multiply - Upon creating an established and proven business model, you can now look to scale what’s working.
    • Don’t get too caught up in the future - If you try to anticipate all the problems that may come up, a lot of your energy and resources will be wasted, and you’ll lose your effectiveness to make all the necessary decisions.
    • And lots more! Tune in now.

If you want some help clarifying your program promise and refining your curriculum, I’m here to help.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • Getting to a point of clarity - Tarah had to put in a lot of work to refine and streamline her approach until she reached a point of clarity. It can take a lot of effort before you find your ideal niche.
    • Going live on Facebook - Even though her clients aren’t generally hanging out on Facebook, doing live videos on the platform allowed her to get super clear on her message and gain a deep understanding of potential talking points.
    • How to understand what your client wants - Tarah is able to fully identify her ideal client and what their motivations are. Furthermore, she always asks herself how she can help this client achieve the result they want.
    • Staying connected to your “why?” - Tarah points out that being an entrepreneur, you’re constantly having to adapt and change up what you’re doing. However, by regularly referring back to her Services That Sell growth assignments, she’s able to retain her core value proposition.
    • An innovative way to attract new leads - Tarah is willing to do what it takes to attract new leads. After conventional marketing methods weren’t getting the desired response she decided to invite prospects to be part of a podcast. This received a fantastic response and allowed her to have an open, long-form conversation with her target customers. How far are you willing to go to attract new leads?

The Missing Link: Why You Aren't Seeing Consistent Cashflow In Your Coaching Business Apr 22, 2020
    Show notes

Consistent cash flow is something we all look for when starting a business. At the end of the day, you want to see that all your hard work and sacrifice is reflected in your bank account.

This episode is going to give you the missing link to ensure you’re not wasting time and you’re doing what needs to be done in order to get the results you want.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • Be visible - One of the main reasons why coaches struggle to consistently sell is because they’re not consistently visible. If you want to enroll clients, you have to put yourself out there on a regular basis.
    • You will enroll new clients at the rate at which you’re consistently selling your service - How often are you talking to strangers and selling your services? If you’re spending all your time playing it safe and planning behind closed doors then you can’t expect to see any results.
    • Just because you know something, doesn’t mean you can apply it - While having knowledge is great, if you’re not taking action then you will not be able to move forward. Sometimes, signing up for a coaching program and being around others that will hold you accountable can make all the difference.
    • Are your doors open? - If you have a brick and mortar business you have to open the doors to allow potential customers to walk in and talk with you. With an online business, you have to open your door and talk to prospects using other tools such as online videos, social media comments, and sales calls.
    • Are you leveraging your content? - You can leverage content by taking a piece of core content and repurposing it in many different ways. This is a great way of the impression that you’re always open for business.
    • And lots more! Tune in now.

You and I both know that it’s time that you take full ownership of your expertise. Finally learn how to clarify your program promise, articulate your value, and organically launch your $3k - $10k group coaching program.

Daily Discomfort: The Price Of Success Apr 15, 2020
    Show notes

Do you have any idea what’s required for you to evolve and grow as a person? Service provider? CEO?

This is what I’m going to be tackling during this episode. It’s particularly important if you find yourself with any limiting beliefs, or if you have a lot of people around you who don’t understand what’s going on.

Throughout this episode, I’m going to be addressing some of these beliefs and challenging your perspective to get you into a state of discomfort and on the path to success…

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • Is it hard to make new friends as an adult? - When you need to upgrade the people around you, making new friends can seem hard. But, it’s not. I just think it’s uncomfortable, so why not go out there and introduce yourself, join a group coaching session, and get active in the Facebook Group.
    • Daily discomfort is the price of success - It’s so easy to label things as being hard and giving up before we get started as we let the fear build up. But, if you’re willing to push through the comfort over and over again, then you’re setting yourself up for success.
    • You don’t get what you want, you get what you deserve - Getting from where you are to where you want to be is a road of daily discomfort. There will be sacrifices necessary. You have to voluntarily coach yourself by putting yourself in positions of discomfort.
    • Have faith - Are you willing to believe in something even when there is no evidence to support it? You’re highly unlikely to have evidence when you’re trying to achieve something brand new to you. This is where a little faith is required.
    • Start by finding gaps in your business - When you want to upgrade your circle, think about your objective. A great way to do this is to identify gaps in your business that need to be filled. Find appropriate mentors or coaches in these fields, and sign up for their live events or join their group coaching sessions.
    • And lots more! Tune in now.

From Influencer To Industry Leading Agency Owner with Shannae Ingleton Apr 08, 2020
    Show notes

This episode features the wonderful Shannae Ingleton, an entrepreneur who serves as a glowing example of how to take the lessons learned from the corporate world and apply them to entreprenuership. She not only quit her job to start a business but then returned to the corporate world in order to fully learn about what it took to run a successful business.

On top of being a leading influencer, Shannae is also the co-founder of Kensington Grey, a boutique influencer agency that manages and negotiates sponsorship deals on behalf of clients.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • More than an idea - Shannae realized there’s more to being an entrepreneur than merely having a good idea and getting people to show up at her events. Due to spending more than she was making, she needed to return to the corporate world to learn about what it took to run a business.
    • The benefits of a corporate job - Shannae used her corporate job as an excellent learning experience. Not only did it provide her with a steady paycheck, but also allowed her to add to her skill set and expertise.
    • Are you creating quality and compelling content? - After working alongside many editors and creative individuals, Shanae learned that when you create genuine, high-quality content, it attracts both fans and sponsors.
    • Build a support group - Shannae started a group of like-minded influencers which has grown to around 200 members. This open-minded network allows each member to grow and flourish as resources and expertise get shared.
    • Shannae’s advice for attracting sponsors - When you’re unique, genuine and obsessed about providing value for your audience, you will grow and have a super-engaged tribe following you.
    • And lots more! Tune in now.

Will You Choose Comfort or Courage? Apr 01, 2020
    Show notes

This episode is all about what you need to do when reaching these low points because you will have to decide whether you’re going to choose comfort or courage in your journey.

The thing that separates those who have, from those who “have not”, is a decision that’s made on a daily basis. You have to be committed to achieving your goals and making your dreams come true… every single day!

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • The end result - So many people glorify the result, yet people rarely talk about the daily discipline, sacrifice, and dedication that’s required to get there.
    • Seasons change - If you’re on a path of growth then it’s natural to find yourself going through various seasons of change. Sometimes things get tough and you have to accept, understand and embrace it.
    • Stop waiting for circumstances to change - Things aren’t always going to flow smoothly. Sometimes, when things get tough, you have to stop waiting for inspiration to fall from the sky or for things to magically get better. You have to push through the times of discomfort.
    • You already have what you need - Everything you need to achieve your goals, you already have inside of you. Most of the time, you know what to do… You just need to actually go out there and do it.
    • There’s nothing shameful about needing help - Growth requires a lot of faith and there’s no shame in admitting you need help when times are tough. If you have control over everything, then maybe you’re operating in life with too much comfort. If you’re always comfortable then you can never expect to grow.
    • And lots more! Tune in now.

Every day, we help coaches and DFY providers, like you, transform their 1:1 service into a SUSTAINABLE online coaching business that is set up to automate the necessary aspects of your offer so you have the energy to show up, serve your clients and increase your business growth month after month.

Side Hustle To Main Hustle: What's Required To Replace Your Salary Mar 25, 2020
    Show notes

Is it possible for a side hustle to become your primary source of income? Absolutely! But it takes a certain amount of commitment to get there, as well as a particular mindset. You have to show up consistently, even on the days that you don’t want to, and especially when you don’t feel like it.

On today’s episode I’m breaking down exactly what’s required to make your side hustle your main hustle.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode is extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • Answer this question first - Is your intention to do a bit of hustling and make some money on the side or do you genuinely want to build a long-term, sustainable business? You have to make this decision before moving forward.
    • Be realistic about the numbers - How much money do you need to replace your current paycheck? Replacing your income is what will give you financial freedom. It should be your first financial goal before setting any bigger, “get super rich” goals.
    • The path of least resistance - What’s the quickest, simplest path you can take to where you get freedom of choice? This is why I’m such a big advocate of selling high-ticket offers. Having only two or three clients, each paying you over a thousand dollars a month means you have the capacity to attract these clients and serve them to the best of your ability.
    • What can you do organically to attract clients? - If you’re working full time and just getting started with your side hustle, then you probably don’t have the cash to pay for paid ads.
    • Make sure you can handle the back-end - Growing too fast can kill your business. Being great at sales and signing up a lot of clients is great for revenue, but you need to be able to take care of the back end to ensure you can handle the clients you’re getting.
    • And lots more! Tune in now.

Raising your rate takes more effort than just deciding on a new price. Then comes the work of addressing the objections, effectively articulating your value in your marketing content, and designing curriculum that delivers on the promise you sold the client into. Need some help with this?
