Pulling Back To Scale Forward With Courtney Sanders Dec 04, 2019
    Show notes

Today’s episode features none other than the first-ever business coach that I hired after getting serious about my business. She’s full of inspirational wisdom and you’re not going to want to miss what she has to say.

Starting out as a blogger, Courtney Sanders was initially writing about hair-care and eventually more about personal development. After more and more people came to her for business advice, she got into business coaching. Now she’s transformed her whole business model and is an inspiration for anyone who wants to build a super-successful business that’s in line with their ethics and values.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • Unhealthy growth – When Courtney began coaching, her primary focus was in growing her business and helping her clients to grow their businesses. While growth is important, she realized that a lot of her clients were failing in other areas of their lives. Solely focusing on growth can be unhealthy. From here she took a step back and re-evaluated things. She realized that her clients needed more than what she was giving them.
    • Are you aligned with your business? - Courtney was able to help people make money. She had the tools and tactics to get the financial results that her clients wanted. However, doing things in this way wasn’t aligned with her core values and what she wanted her brand to be about. Even though she felt a lot of friction from her clients, she pivoted and focused on becoming a coach in all areas of life as opposed to merely focusing on money.
    • What’s your current state? – Courtney talks about a time in her life when she was comfortably making six figures, yet she was waking up late with low energy and not feeling particularly happy or vibrant. If you’re continually feeling low on enthusiasm, you need to question yourself and reflect. Even though running a business is difficult and challenging, it should bring you a lot of passion and joy. If you’re not feeling completely energized about getting up in the morning and getting to work, consider whether you need to pivot into an area you feel passionate and energized about.
    • Streamlining – While pregnant, Courtney realized she didn’t want to spend her time doing things that she didn’t particularly enjoy. After auditing the areas of her business, she essentially got rid of all the waste, automating a lot of her procedures so she could focus her time and energy on what she wanted to focus on.
    • Beware of the enemy – Be aware of the th

Credibility Is The New Currency Nov 27, 2019
    Show notes

Today’s episode is going to help you align yourself to the modern strategies and attitudes that are required to flourish in business.

Consumers are doing their research. They have countless options and have their own opinions about what they want. They’re not going to buy based on the charisma of a salesman anymore. That’s why, as someone selling professional services in the online space, you have to understand that credibility is the new currency.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • Closing a sale is just the beginning - There are so many courses that help you to go out there, pull the trigger, and close the deal to get your first sale. While this is important, getting the sale is just the beginning of the relationship, It’s not the end goal. That’s why you have to build credibility into your sales process.
    • Your brand isn’t a logo or a service – It’s important to focus less on what your service is and more on what problem you solve. You need to have a specific niche that your product or service caters to. Your product or logo isn’t what differentiates you in the market. The problem you solve is what differentiates you. Services That Sell has a proven method to help you get crystal clear on this and to align your message with your ideal customer.
    • Being credible before the sale - You need consistency with human-to-human connection. Are you consistently being visible? Are you consistently adding value? Is there consistency on your core messaging throughout your social media posts? Your content needs to be consistent with how buyers make decisions and if you’re not putting yourself out there and adding value to the audience in front of you then you will quickly lose that audience. Your content needs to be purposeful and it needs to show how you can get people consistent results
    • Being credible after the sale - Selling is not the end goal. Maintaining credibility after the sale, therefore, means you have to have a documented, proven process in place that will get your client the results they desire and expect. You have to deliver on your promise. By doing so, you’re building on your credibility and setting yourself up for the next sale.
    • Giving your services for free - There’s a common conception that you have to initially give away your services for free in order to earn credibility. I’m very skeptical about this practice, especially when it comes to the coaching business. If no transaction takes place, your client probably won’t be fully committed to putting in the work that’s required of them to get the results they want. Therefore, giving away your services for free like this can hurt your credibility.
    • And lots more! Tune in now.

How This Full-time Academic Researcher Got Booked Out & Banked Over $12,000 In Less Than 3 Months With Kemi Doll Nov 20, 2019
    Show notes

My special guest on this episode, Kemi Doll, has been crushing it as of late! And she’s here today to give you some insight into how she’s getting it done.

Kemi went down the route of trying to sell her offer through a complicated email funnel. Just before launching, however, she found Services That Sell and decided to change her approach. She flipped the funnel, re-packaging all her content to create a real service that would get real results for her clients.

Now, she’s completely booked up for the rest of the year.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • Make a commitment - Upon signing up for Services That Sell, Kemi was committed to learning all the content of the course, regardless of how uncomfortable it would make her feel. If you sign up for a course or any kind of coaching program, you have to be committed. Be willing to answer some difficult questions.
    • Promise one result - Kemi had trouble niching down. Even though her target audience was already small, the result she was promising was still vague. That’s when she started using results-focused language, making her promise of “Get that grant!” It was a very specific result and would force her to become committed to her clients. Promising a clear, tangible and measurable result takes true courage.
    • Willing to fail – Despite being terrified at times, Kemi has a willingness to try new things out, even if it could mean failure. This is the perfect attitude for growth, especially if you’re following a proven methodology. She learns from each and every action, whether it’s posting on social media, going live on Facebook or having sales calls.
    • If you truly want to help people, you will succeed – According to Kemi, the difference between someone that has success in Services That Sell vs someone that doesn’t is the desire and passion to go out there and serve. If you just want to make money, it’s much harder to be successful, because the courage and drive come from a deep desire to help people.
    • Learning to sell – If you believe that you’re doing something wrong by asking people to pay for your services, then you’ll never be successful at sales. Kemi

You Have To Get Rich Before You Build Wealth Nov 13, 2019
    Show notes

Why did you decide to start your business? Did you start out with a desire to completely change your financial situation and build wealth? If so, today’s episode is essential listening.

Entrepreneurship gives you a fast track when it comes to getting rich in a relatively short space of time. However, getting rich and building wealth aren’t the same thing. If you want to play the game of building wealth (and you weren’t born into a wealthy family), you need to get rich first.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • What does it mean to be rich? – Being rich can be both in terms of mindset and being financially rich. The two are not mutually exclusive. If you’re making over $100,000 a year then you can consider yourself rich.
    • What does it mean to be wealthy? – Being wealthy goes far beyond being rich. When you’re truly wealthy, you will have such an abundance of financial wealth that the generation that comes after you will be taken care of for life.
    • How to build wealth – Once you’re earning enough money to pay for the lifestyle you want, you can begin to build wealth, by taking your excess profit and investing it in assets, such as property, stocks, and investment funds. But, to begin to build wealth, you have to get rich first.
    • The power of leverage – You can get rich incredibly quickly. My signature program, Services That Sell, has had countless members who are making big bucks from offering their services. However, the next step is to take what you’ve already got and leverage it. This is how you can multiply your earnings.
    • And lots more! Tune in now.

How This Digital Marketing Agency Is Racking In Millions For Her (And Her Clients) With Emily Hirsh Nov 06, 2019
    Show notes

Today, you’re in for a treat. This episode features an extra special guest, Emily Hirsh, who’s a very big deal in the world of online marketing. She’s been working with top-level influencers and game-changing entrepreneurs through her full suite marketing management company. After developing her revolutionary “Hirsh” method, she’s made a ton of money for her clients, allowing her business has gone from strength to strength

Even though Emily is now at the helm of a multi-million dollar business, four years ago she was a virtual assistant, managing email and calendars. She used to use freelance websites to get clients, before getting involved with Facebook groups. This is how she grew, building relationships on Facebook while learning everything there is to know about Facebook ads. Her passion and commitment to mastery in the Facebook ad field allowed her to become a dominant force in her niche.

Emily has succeeded by focusing on one goal at a time. She also makes sure her whole team are united and focused with her. While it’s great to have long-term goals, she ensures that these goals are broken down into short-term, specific, and realistic objectives that her team can easily follow.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • When to say no - There comes a point where you have to start saying no to new clients. In the early days, this isn’t necessarily the case. Emily spent her first year on Facebook saying yes to everything. Offering a vast array of services, she was able to hone in on her niche, learning what she liked and disliked in the process. Once you’ve found your niche, it’s important to double-down and say “no” to clients who want something different from what you’re offering.
    • Getting your hands in the dirt - Emily may have a dedicated team working for her now, but she spent the early days doing everything herself. Two intense years of working for clients and gaining essential experience now means she has the wisdom and experience to lead her team in the right direction.
    • You still have to do the work - While Emily recognized the need to hire a coach, she asserts that doing so isn’t like a magic button that will solve all your problems. An excellent coach will give you quality advice and help you take things to the next level. But, you still have to put in the work.
    • What’s the priority? - Emily is incredibly foc

The Difference Between Working In Your Business Vs Working On Your Business Oct 30, 2019
    Show notes

Are you ready to become a CEO? If the answer is yes, then how do you go about planning your day in order to get things done that will ultimately get you the results you desire?

Today’s episode is a masterclass on the differences between working ON your business and working IN your business. I discuss what each of them entails and how to get the right balance.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. It’s packed with advice and guidance for anyone who wants to develop and sharpen their CEO thinking process. Highlights include:

    • Plan the process - It’s easy to get caught up in planning what you want the result to look like. What’s equally important is planning the process. This includes how to best leverage your time and energy on a day to day basis. This ensures you stay focused on what’s going to make a difference.
    • Working on your business - Working on your business is all about strategic planning. It relates to setting goals, personal development and working on the skill sets that you need to reach the next level. It includes reflecting on what has happened so far, and deciding what changes you need to make moving forward. If you have a team working for you, then you will also need to spend time delegating tasks and helping your staff develop.
    • Working in your business - The day to day operations are what we’re referring to when we talk about working in your business. This can include anything from responding to social media comments to bookkeeping.
    • Shifting from an employee mindset - If you used to be (or still are) an employee then you’re probably more accustomed to working in a business. Working on your business, therefore, may not come naturally. That’s OK though. If this is the case, you have to build your skills, stamina, and relevant knowledge over time.
    • Making the time - When planning out your schedule, you need to ensure you devote adequate time to work on your business. Even though the ratio of time spent working on vs in your business changes from season to season, practice intentionally carving out space for working on top-level decision making and goal setting. This will ensure your hard work always stays focused in the right direction.
    • And lots more! Tune in now.

How This Project Manager Mastered The Art Of Closing High Ticket Clients And Doubled Her Monthly Income With Danielle Adams Oct 23, 2019
    Show notes

Today’s episode features the success story of Danielle Adams, an organizational specialist and expert in efficiency who managed to establish her own company, Divine Inspirations Professional Services while learning to generate the income that her services deserve.

Her passion is contagious and she’s a great inspiration for anyone who’s thinking of starting a business, or if you’re ready to take your existing business to the next level.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • Build around your passion - Danielle is a great example of how to build a business that’s based around what you’re good at and what you’re passionate about. By the time she established her business, she was already an expert in her field and loved what she did. Enjoying what you do makes it so much easier to become successful.
    • Take a step of faith - While Danielle confesses she didn’t know entirely what she was doing when starting her business, she had so much passion and was willing to take action. This is what makes her success inevitable.
    • A shift in mindset - Before enrolling in Services That Sell, Danielle had only made a few dollars in her business, despite getting plenty of qualified leads on the phone. Once her mindset changed, she understood the true value in what she was offering. By charging a price that reflected her worth, she started making a lot more money.
    • Serving your clients vs selling your services - Danielle continues to work hard in developing her ability to service her clients. Becoming a master of your craft is essential if you want to provide your clients with outstanding service. However, if you don’t know how to sell your services then you won’t have any paying clients to serve. Serving your clients and selling your services are complementary skill sets that are both essential in this game.
    • How can you lose anything when you’re investing in yourself? - Danielle has an excellent mindset. When choosing how and when to invest in herself, her focus is based on where she wants to get to and not her current set of circumstances. Adopting this attitude will propel you forward and help you get to the next level.
    • And lots more! Tune in now.

What Does It Mean To Actually Scale Your Business Oct 16, 2019
    Show notes

What do you think it means to scale your business? In today’s episode, we’re going to talk about the most important elements in your business to determine whether you’re ready or not, and break down what it actually means to scale your business.

In order to scale, you have to have three core areas in place:

    1. You need to be able to attract qualified leads to your business. This doesn’t just mean marketing your services to the general public, but communicating the problem you solve to qualified leads who would benefit from what you’re offering.
    2. You need to be able to convert your qualified leads into clients. You have to close the sale. I’ve found the best way to do this, by far, is through sales calls. It’s a tried and tested method that’s been proven time and time again.
    3. You need to be able to deliver your service consistently, utilizing a proven and documented methodology. Because customizing and having to change the way you do things with each client isn’t efficient.

In my signature program, Services That Sell, I help my clients to get these three areas mastered. Without having these foundations in place, there’s no point in trying to scale.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • Making more money vs scaling - A lot of people mistake scaling with making more money. They’re not the same thing. Most of us are at a point where we’re ready to make more money, but not where we’re ready to scale. In fact, making more money is a by-product of successful scaling.
    • Start with 1 on 1 - In the early days, working with clients in a 1 on 1 format is the best way forward. It allows you to charge a premium price while you’re developing your process and refining your methodology. Going through this process will eventually put you in an excellent place to scale your business.
    • Always focus on the next step - If you don’t have a documented methodology, then focus on getting one. If you have plenty of qualified leads but no sales, then you need to learn how to close the sale. Always ask yourself: what’s the most important “next step” to move forward in my business? Don’t waste time on things like PR if you’re not yet achieving the results that warrant getting this kind of exposure.
    • How much capital? - You shouldn’t need to raise any capital if you’re selling a service. If you were to develop a physical product then that’s another story. If you’re selling a service you should be able to fund your business yourself. Profit margins are usually ridiculously high in service businesses. This means that scaling can be achieved by reinvesting your profits and avoiding external financing.
    • And lots more! Tune in now.

Karleen Roy is the founder and CEO of The Vanity Group, an event production company that curates magical experiences for your favorite celebrities, including Justin Bieber, Kobe Bryant, and a whole host of top talent!

Karleen recognizes that her business isn’t yet in a scaling phase. For her, the back-end processes are just as important as the front-end side of things that her clients get to see. After listening to this episode, it will be easy to see how her humble and level-headed attitude is what allows her to continue to thrive.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • Do your due diligence - If you’re debating whether or not to go into business then Karleen highly recommends that you carry out initial research to find out what the market rate is for the service you’re offering. Determine who your competitors are, and identify what they’re charging.
    • Know your value and keep it simple - Karleen as been working with celebrities for many years and what she does is now second nature. She knows how her clients think and is always able to meet their incredibly high expectations. Rather than trying to do many different things, she recommends being excellent in your own field. Be the best at what you do rather than trying to do everything.
    • Building relationships - According to Karleen, people want to do business with people they know and like. She never tries to force a relationship and is always invested in building relationships organically over the long term.
    • Becoming a CEO - Being a business owner hasn’t been easy to Karleen and she’s had to work hard to become a successful CEO. She still considers herself a student of the game, working with many of her peers and reading relevant books in order to nurture her CEO abilities over time.
    • Balancing growth with client expectations - To avoid sacrificing the quality of client work, Karleen ensures she is always fully focused on the event at hand. The Vanity Group is niche by design and she never overloads her team’s schedule. Long-term growth is always dependent on the ability to deliver your promise to your clients in the present.

Lessons Learned From Masterminding With Millionaires Oct 02, 2019
    Show notes

Ever wondered what it’s like to have a millionaire mindset? Well, I’ve been on the road for the last few days and have had the opportunity to mastermind with some high-performing millionaires. Fresh off of this experience, I wanted to use this episode to talk about four common characteristics that I noticed all these people having. Even though their personalities differed greatly from one another, these four characteristics were unwavering.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are the four millionaire-mindset characteristics that I discuss in detail:

    • Ability to focus - All of these individuals made their initial money from one or two signature offerings. They didn’t spread their focus over a range of services or products. Instead, they harnessed all of their energy into selling one service, perfecting their methodology. Learn to focus on what’s in front of you and concentrate on the task at hand. Don’t get distracted.
    • Simplicity - When asked what service they provide or what problem they solve, they’re able to articulate it with ease. Within a few seconds of listening, you know whether or not you need what they’re offering. It’s important to learn how to articulate the problem you solve by keeping it as simple as possible. There’s no need to complicate things.
    • Forever learning - The mindset of welcoming any opportunity to learn and improve regardless of your level is something that really sets the millionaire apart. Think about professional athletes. The likes of Kobe Bryant, Serena Williams, and Micheal Jordan spend hours and hours practicing and improving their skills before they even step foot on the court for game-time. Learn to practice the skills you need in business and adopt a forever learning mentality.
    • Decisiveness - Millionaires are quick to make decisions once they’ve reviewed their options. However, the ability to make a decision is something that takes practice over time, especially when you’re starting out in business and don’t yet have all the necessary data available to you. Don’t be reckless in your decisions. That being said, you need to learn through trial and error by learning to be decisive. Making the wrong decision helps you learn and grow. Don’t be afraid of failure. In my opinion, doing nothing at all is the worst type of failure.
    • And lots more! Tune in now.
