Do You Have What It Takes To Be In The 1%? What Separates The Good From The Great? Aug 28, 2019
    Show notes

There are certain habits that you have to get rid of if you want to join the top 1%. You have to be willing to make a commitment to your goals. A commitment that ensures you won’t be giving up until you’ve gotten to where you want to be.

Things may take time, but don’t give up. Aim for greatness and be willing to do what it takes to get there.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • The recipe for change - A commitment with no follow through is like a prayer that goes unanswered. If you want to make a significant change in any area of your life, you have to make a commitment and then take action in some way.
    • How hungry are you? - Imagine if you had zero options other than to start a business and be successful at it. Imagine if business success is the only way you’re going to put food on the table. If you’re fearing commitment, this will allow your survival instinct to kick in as you tell yourself you have no other options. If you’re hungry enough, you’ll find a way to succeed.
    • Don’t delete the post - Once you’ve made a commitment and taken action, don’t allow fear to cause you to step backward and reverse all the good you’ve done. This happens way too often when I see people go live on Facebook, only to delete the post a few minutes later. Don’t delete the post! Keep it up and focus on making each subsequent post better than the last.
    • Show up consistently and the money will follow - If you’re truly committed to being the best at what you do, then you’ll get paid. You simply have to keep showing up and be willing to put the work in until things work out. The likes of Michael Jordan never stopped working, through the good and the bad. Never give up and keep showing up!
    • You’re not basic, average, and simple - Make the commitment to be great! While it’s natural to fear that everyone is watching over your shoulder and waiting for you to slip up, in reality it doesn’t happen that way. People are more concerned about their own problems and how they look. Never allow basic, average, and simple people to hold you back... Ever!
    • And lots more! Tune in now.

Want some help scaling your group coaching program at a price you’re proud of? You can grow beyond six figures without offering discounts, downsells or dumping a ton of money into paid ads.

Facebook Freak Out: What To Do When Social Media Shuts Down & The Importance Of Your Email List Aug 25, 2019
    Show notes

I felt the need to dedicate this episode to my beloved social media platform after seeing a lot of ridiculousness following some recent issues where Facebook wasn’t functioning quite to its usual high standards.

There’s no crisis going on. If Facebook is your preferred platform, then I’m here to reassure you that everything’s gonna be OK. There is no social media Armageddon on the horizon. You don’t have to follow the advice that some people are putting out by abandoning Facebook and focusing on an email list.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • Facebook literally is social media - With over 2 billion daily users and with the likes of Instagram and Whatsapp part of the organization, Facebook pretty much IS social media. While people may try to paint a picture of instability, Facebook is simply too big to fail. There’s too much money to be made and too much at stake.
    • How often do you show up for your business? - Facebook has been providing a high-level, game-changing service for the last decade. It literally shows up 24/7, time and time again, every single day without fail. So what if it went through a little downtime for a period of a few hours. Was there ever a time in your business life when you haven’t shown up? Do you ever take the occasional off-day? I know I do. Please, give Facebook a break.
    • Were you even being productive? - For all the people hating on Facebook, were you even on there being productive? Were you there trying to go live and represent your business? Did you sign on with the intention of posting content that would convert and lead to future clients experiencing life-changing transformations? Or, were you merely on there to browse photos and click the like button?
    • Transactional content - When you create a piece of content, do you ask yourself why you’re doing it? While a cute photo or catchy quote may get plenty of likes and shares, beware of the difference between posting content for the sake of it and posting transactional content. Transactional content has a clear call to action and is designed in a way that’s going to get results for your business.
    • How important is your email list? - For many businesses, an email list is very important. However, if you’re only just starting out then what good is a big email list if you don’t know what to do with it? In the early stages, it’s far more important to figure out the problem your solving and convey your value to your ideal customer. Facebook Live is the ideal channel to make this happen. Email lists are important and do have a role to play. But only once you’ve reached that stage of your business evolution.
    • And lots more! Tune in now.

How This Copywriter Overcame Adversity To Build A Highly Demanded, Boutique Business With Five-figure Offerings With Prerna Malik Aug 21, 2019
    Show notes

My special guest today is Prerna Malik who is one of the best copywriters in the game and currently runs Content Bistro, along with her husband.

They explored the idea of providing blogging and social media management services to small businesses. Through hard work and dedication, things were going well. It was when Prerna decided to niche down and go from a general blog writer to focusing on being a conversion copywriter that things really started to pick up.

She’s since become a master in the copywriting world. So much so that she has a long line of businesses wanting to pay her five figures for her services.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • Solid work ethic - You can have all the tools in the world but without a solid work ethic, you can’t expect success. Even though Prerna lives in India and English is her second language, she is able to write world-class copy for the English speaking world. There’s no substitute for work ethic when it comes to overcoming obstacles and achieving your goals.
    • The personal touch - Prerna would work tirelessly to identify potential clients by looking for businesses that would be a good fit and didn’t have a solid blog or social media presence. By writing out each prospective email separately, the personal touch went a long way to winning over clients.
    • Packaging your service - Selling a standalone service doesn’t allow you to charge anywhere near as much as selling a package of services. When Prerna started to package her services, her sales shot up dramatically. Her clients were far more excited and enthusiastic about the prospect of purchasing a “package”.
    • Don’t be Beyoncé on day 1 - In the early days, while you don’t have to scrape the barrel, it’s also not wise to charge super high prices until you can justify the value that you’re providing. Prerna can now charge $13,000 for a service she provides, but that’s because she’s backed up with years of experience, technical ability, and countless case studies.
    • Repeats and referrals - Nothing confirms your credibility like getting repeat purchases and referrals from existing clients. In fact, the majority of Prerna’s revenue is made up from repeat business, where she gets to know her clients better each time and can, therefore, provide an even higher level of personalized service.
    • And lots more!

Generation 1099: Student Loan Debt and The Modern Day Side Hustler Aug 18, 2019
    Show notes

Whether you’re a college graduate who can’t find a worthy job or someone that wants to liberate themselves from corporate America, I want you to take one thing away from today’s episode. I want you to realize that you have control over your life and what your true earning potential is. Don’t let the system or past beliefs put a limit on what you can achieve.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • The rise of the side hustle - It seems that we were led to believe that if we went to college and got a degree then we’d be sorted for life. After blindly following the norms of the “system,” it’s no wonder why so many of us are trying to build a side hustle, finding ourselves sitting on massive debts without the employment opportunities we expected.
    • Investing in yourself - In order to earn a degree you typically have to spend tens of thousands of dollars and go through several years of intense study. That’s a lot of time, money, and effort, right? Now, imagine what your life would look like if you invested as much in yourself as you’ve invested in the system. What would your earning potential be?
    • Limitless - Even though your job, your industry, and the economy may dictate what your salary is, your earning potential is limitless. In order to bridge the gap between your current salary and your desired income, all you need is three things: a computer, Wi-Fi, and a social media platform. If you’ve ever had a job, then you already have a set of skills that someone has paid you for.
    • Not always a leap - While many people have the fantasy of flipping off their boss and resigning on the spot, taking a sudden leap and spontaneously quitting your job isn’t a smart move. A gradual change, where you start to put the pieces in place is far more realistic. Sometimes, freelancing in your spare time can be the best bridge to go from employment to having a six-figure business where you’re calling the shots.
    • Are you sacrificing? - Are you spending your time and money where it counts? Are there things you can live without for the time being in order to apply your resources to help you get to where you want to be?
    • And lots more! Tune in now.

You and I both know that it’s time that you take full ownership of your expertise. Finally learn how to clarify your program promise, articulate your value, and organically launch your $3k - $10k group coaching program.

How To Get Out There and Build an Awesome Online Business Organically, Even if You’re Not an Extrovert with Mariah Coz Aug 14, 2019
    Show notes

My special guest on today’s episode is Mariah Coz, who is incredibly effective at running her company that helps people create their own courses.

Her biggest program now is her “accelerator” program that forms a services-hybrid coaching program to help people go from one-on-one to a group coaching program. Mariah shows that if you have real confidence in what your offer delivers and you’re incredibly excited to help people with what you have to offer, then even the most introverted person can be super-successful in selling through webinars, or an equivalent sales method.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • Respond to what they’re asking for - Mariah has been very effective in listening to what her audience wants. Instead of guessing, she created and released specific products that people were actually asking for. Of course, this made the selling process much easier.
    • Results-based pricing - While Mariah felt uncomfortable and had a hard time pushing up prices, she began to realize that the results her clients were getting far outweighed the price she was charging. By eventually deciding to raise her prices, she began to attract more customers that were extremely committed.
    • Find people that are better than you - When it comes to scaling her business, Mariah has been successful in finding the right people and training them extensively. She’s transferred all of her knowledge to her employed coaches so that they can coach the clients at least as effectively as she could.
    • Long term - Mariah is willing to spend big money when it comes time to invest but she’s realistic about ROIs. In the modern world, we’ve created an expectation of instant returns. In business, however, it doesn’t usually work that way. If she’s making a big investment, she’s well aware that she may have to wait several years in order to get the big payoff she desires.
    • Paying for access - Whether it’s joining a mastermind group or attending a live event, it’s important to recognize that you may have to pay for access to be around people who are on a path of excellence and are going to help you get a better sense of what’s possible.
    • And lots more! Tune in now.

Show Up and Show Off: Discovering Your Voice as You Are Building Your Business Aug 11, 2019
    Show notes

Today’s episode is all about the process that you should be focusing on when it comes to building your business.

If you don’t know how to sell, it doesn’t matter how much content you’re creating. If your content doesn’t convert and lead people to take action then you’re not doing things in the right order. If you don’t yet have an offer to sell then it doesn’t matter how well you understand how to technically set up a Facebook ad or set up a lead page or set up a course.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • In the beginning - Until you get to the point in your business where you’re consistently making around $5,000 a month, then don’t waste time trying to do everything. There’s only one thing that really matters, and that’s figuring out exactly what your offer is. Figuring out the problem that you’re going to solve is like the seed from which everything else in your business will grow.
    • Making the right choice - I fully understand how hard it is to figure out what your offer is going to be. If you have numerous ideas floating about in your head then it can be especially difficult to make a committed choice. That’s why you should have a proven framework, like what we have with Services That Sell, to make the decision-making process much easier for you.
    • Is your ego coming into play? - Are you working to get a huge number of followers, likes, and shares to gratify your ego? Or are you working to help people make real-life transformations while making a whole load of money in the process that gives you the life you’ve always dreamed of? Beware of your ego coming into play and keep reminding yourself why you went into business in the first place.
    • Transaction before transformation - Understand that if you really want to help someone to have a life-changing transformation, a transaction has to come beforehand. This is true in all aspects of life. For someone at McDonald’s who wants a transformation from being hungry to being full, there first has to be a cash transaction before they receive their food.
    • Serving over selling - What’s the best way to sell your service? Forget about the stereotypical sleazy car salesman who won’t take “no” for an answer. In order to sell honorably, you have to realize that you’re allowing someone to have a life-changing transformation. Instead of trying to sell them what you have, it’s better to think of the sales process as inviting a potential customer to join you in a way that serves them.
    • And lots more! Tune in now.

If you’re booked out with private 1:1 clients, ready to raise the price of your successful digital course or want a new revenue stream beyond retainer clients, I invite you to apply.

How this website designer is traveling the world while converting clients consistently using the lean launch method with Danielle Tucker Aug 07, 2019
    Show notes

My guest today is Danielle Tucker is living an extraordinary life, traveling the world while running a successful niche web design business.

She’s worked hard to niche all the way down to help speakers through her web design. Applying the lean launch method, she is able to convey the value she can provide, helping her customers to book more speaking engagements and get their message across to their audience.

    Key Highlights of the Episode

This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights:

    • Invest big for big transformations - Leading up to her enrollment in Services That Sell, Danielle invested in a handful of coaches, consultants, and strategists. She came to realize that the bigger the price tag of an investment, the greater the level of transformation she could expect.
    • Market to your ideal client - While this sounds simple, so many business owners try to market to everybody. Instead, try to get in the head of your ideal client. Get down to the finest details. Do your research and you’ll be able to figure out exactly what they need from you.
    • What feels fun vs what’s really needed - When building your business not everything is going to be 100% enjoyable. Sometimes it’s easier to focus on what’s fun and forget about what actually needs doing. This is when a bit of discipline is needed as you have to push through any resistance and focus your efforts on what’s needed to make the greatest impact on your business.
    • The lean launch - Danielle has been able to land a bunch of five-figure clients from utilizing the lean launch sales method. This simple, two-step approach involves putting out live videos and converting clients over the phone. Danielle has had to overcome a lot of nerves, but by planning for success, she’s pushed through all her anxieties and is now converting clients consistently.
    • Knowing your figures - Are you intentionally taking the actions that will get you the results you desire? Danielle found herself becoming very intrigued by how certain people can work less yet earn more money than others. Knowing your figures will allow you to reverse engineer what you need to focus on in order to earn a specific income.
    • And lots more! Tune in now.
