Welcome back Loony Listeners!
Yes, I'm back in the saddle to give you more of that goodness that is the ITK Newsletter! I'll get straight into it as I really do not know where this will take me, so consider this a stream-of-consciousness sort of writing effort!
First off, with our upcoming episode to be recorded this coming weekend, both Connorshu and I will be looking at the Moon Knight appearance in the latest Punisher issue by Matthew Rosenberg -
PHASE OF THE MOON: PUNISHER SNEAK ATTACK!
LUNAR-PICK: NEW COMIC BOOK REVIEW
THE PUNISHER VOL.12, ISSUE #15
lt should be an interesting one to go through but I've already heard from one of the Loonies (shout out to Loony Brian) that unfortunately Moon Knight's appearance is quite limited. To be honest...in the OLD days I would have been more disappointed.....NOW, since we know our boi is getting a series in December, and of course more attention due to the announcement of the TV show in 2021...I'm not too fussed that Moony has only a small dose in the Punisher comic.
We'll still try and do it justice too - truth be told, I was thoroughly enjoying the Rosenberg Punisher series and was collecting it for the first 12 issues or so, but ultimately had to let it go, due to my wallet slowly disappearing into the Negative Zone....
Similar to all the comic books we review, I'll chuck a Discussion thread on our social media for you all to leave feedback should you so wish (see below for standardised blurb) -
DISCUSSION THREADI'm quite eager to post a discussion thread about this and I'll be pushing for comments from you, my fellow dear Loonies! Yes, I'm sure there will be plenty to comment on, so please do not hesitate to pick up your pens (figuratively speaking) and write into us with your thoughts and points of discussion you'd like to hear on the show!
I'll leave this as a stock standard blurb from now on, for all discussion threads...click the links and read the italics below for some pointers in getting your thoughts in!
If you DON'T want your comments broadcast, please just add, "(DNB)" at the end of your comment, and we'll be sure not to broadcast it. We'll pick a few comments from here and discuss on the show!
If you aren't really a Facebook, Twitter or Instagram person, you can always reach us on any of the other platforms below -
We love hearing from you and typically your comments generate thought provoking discussion on the show and allows us to dive deeper into the issues - don't hesitate to give it a go!
THE HUNT FOR KHONSHU'S GOLDEN SCEPTREThe serial has been going very well so far, and forging ahead, things look rosy for the foreseeable future. Episode 5 of the serial is still a couple of weeks off just yet, but behind the scenes, I've been busy writing and asking Loonies if they want to participate in the audio play.
So far, I've got scripts up to Episode 9, and a full cast thereabouts for each of those episodes, so needless to say I'm quite excited about progressing this along.
I also have just come up with an idea which may very well blow the socks off of all the Loonies, so I'm just working through it but more on that to come in the near future.
What does the serial hold coming up? As mentioned, we'll see the mercs 'Geronimo' Johnson and 'Cold Case' Kurtz go head to head with a Bosqueverdian cartel; Connorshu returns with the help of another Loony, to foil the plans of one of Set's minions; Tommy will return to comb the streets in his own inimitable fashion; there will be a spotlight on the Big Bad himself, Set - the God of Chaos; and, Rebecca and Rey also return with a peek at yet another new character introduced in the ITK Universe...a familiar voice which I'm sure you'll dig....
There will also be other surprises in store...this thing is writing itself...it's so much fun!
If you want to be part of it, please do not hesitate to contact us at ITK...we would LOVE as many Loonies being a part of this as possible...
#ITKMoonKnight 2019 Fantasy Comic League - August Results and New Season
We still are awaiting the final results from the season - Brian the organiser has had a massive event with a new baby, so understandably, the FCL has taken a back seat.
What we do know, however, is that the #ITKMoonKnight division will be returning for another season commencing this month, September and running all the way through to December!
One of the High Priests, Connorshu sadly bows out due to a hectic lifestyle, but we welcome Tommy 'The Man on the Streets' friend Jason as the fifth member of the division. Drafting will commence as soon as we are able and I'll post up all the details once we are up and running!
GUEST APPEARANCES
Finally, no guest appearances for me this week. I'll be laying low and focusing just on ITK stuff - the upcoming episode, but also a bit of writing for the serial and a bit of editing for some episodes for ITK which I have already up my sleeve.
Well, that about covers it for this newsletter - keep reading good comics and as one Egyptian said to the other as they stumbled home from a drunken party along the Nile -

EPISODE 111:
Rey is joined by special guest, Josh 'Geronimo' Johnson, to discuss all the latest Moon Knight news and topics which have caused a stir amongst the Loonies!
Also, following the phase of the moon, the hosts look at a massive 90's comic event -
PHASE OF THE MOON: NEW MOON
SPOTLIGHT: ACTS OF VENGEANCE OVERVIEW
An overview of the entire Acts of Vengeance event, as well as reviews for the the three Moon Knight issues (Marc Spector: Moon Knight #8-10) are also included in a very action packed show!
Josh also drops a couple of bombs -
He has an amazing announcement which should have many Loonies excited to bits! AND...
He's got a GRAND theory for how Moon Knight will return to the Marvel Universe in his new comic series in December!....
Tune in, turn up the volume and get your Khonshu on!!!
MOON RATING (out of phases of the Moon):Josh: Three-Quarter Moon 🌖 - 7.5/10

Hello Fair Loonies!
My oh my, what a week it has been! Our humble community is gradually expanding with a growth spurt unsurpassed so far over the last week. It seems a little thing like an announcement for a TV show has really excited comic book fans and Moon Knight fans alike. I'm so glad that they are finding our community, and a note to those who have been with us a while now - please be sure to welcome all and any new Loonies into our group. Whether they are curious about the character and know little of him; or whether they have been long time fans and only now have just been exposed to ITK, please make sure to treat them like you yourself would want to be treated...we all have a common interest and goal!
As I type, our group has reached 1.1K members...which is CRAZY!! Never really imagined we'd get this big...but am super proud!
Anyway, there's a bit to cover here in this week's newsletter - first of all, next upcoming show will be a SPOTLIGHT - and for this, we thought we'd do a prelude of sorts before the ACTS OF EVIL Moon Knight Annual coming up shortly -
PHASE OF THE MOON: SPOTLIGHT
ACTS OF VENGEANCE! THE WHOLE SAGA, PLUS -
l'll be joined by fellow Loony, Josh 'Geronimo' Johnson and this should prove to be quite a fun run through. We won't go into too intricate a detail, as it would take us forever to go through it all, but we'll cover an overview of what the ACTS OF VENGEANCE was all about and how it ties into the ACTS OF EVIL event in the current annuals. The three Moon Knight centric issues should also be fun to chat about - we'll get into in depth reviews of these issues one day, but for this instnace, we'll kinda treat it like we do an OVER THE MOON Arc Review...still, for anyone wanting to learn more, we should have a good basis for which you can build on!
This episode will also be a crossover with the peeps over at the Capes & Lunatics Sidekicks, Ultimate Spidey Podcast too!
Phil and Lilith will be covering the Acts of Vengeance tie-ins from the Spidey comics whilst we do the Moon Knight ones - so be sure to check out the Ultimate Spider-man Podcast too if you can! Their episode drops next Tuesday...

THE HUNT FOR KHONSHU'S GOLDEN SCEPTRESo, you may recall the latest episode for our serial dropped in Ep 109. It followed the progress of 'The Power of' Chad looking for the Golden Sceptre out in deep Space-Time, in the OtherVoid. He met some deities and got blasted with cosmic rays - what will happen to him next???
I've just finished editing episode 5, and it again picks up where the serial left off - this time with those two mercenary brother-in-arms, Josh 'Geronimo' Johnson and Dustin 'Cold Case' Kurtz...!
Can't wait for you all to listen, and expect it to be dropped into episode 113 of the ITK Podcast before it gets released as it's own thing a few days later.
What can you expect in the upcoming serial?
Well, the boys are still stuck in Bosqueverde after episode 3, and we see more of the cartel and underworld that both Geronimo and Cold Case have been poking at....will they find the Golden Sceptre in Bosqueverde?...or maybe another lead?...You'll just have to wait and see!
#ITKMoonKnight 2019 Fantasy Comic League - August Progress
We are heading towards the end of the maiden season of the #ITKMoonKnight Division in the Fantasy Comic League. Things are tightening up and no one's a certain winner yet!
The winner of the season will be awarded with a trade paperback of their choice and it currently looks like this -
Tommy is leading the season overall, and will need to avoid coming last to seal a victory for the season;
Rey and Connor still are in with a chance, but they require Tommy to come last AND they require to come out on top in August;
Dustin has it a little harder - it may just be out of his grasp regardless;
Chad sticks true to his fave characters...but his performance may affect the overall result (i.e if he beats Tommy this month)
Here are the current score cards for August. I'm looking OK, for the first week of August, but anything can happen int he subsequent weeks. FCL organiser, Brian, recently welcomed a new member of the family into the world, so he's understandably a little behind...but by the end of this month (only in a week or so)....we should have the final results!
If you'd like to participate in the FCL under the #ITKMoonKnight division, please do not hesitate to contact us and we can rustle up a new squad for the new season starting in September.
Our division comprises of 5 x Loonies... A full season goes for 4 months (new season starts September)....
Each member fee would be $16USD
Winner of the Division at end of season will also win a trade of their choice!
More info can be found here...

What say you? Keen to represent ITK and have a bit of fun (you certainly end up knowing more of what goes on the Marvel Universe!)
Just drop us a line if you're keen and we'll sort out the details!
GUEST APPEARANCES
Finally, keep an eye out for the Quantum Zone Podcast, if you want to hear more of my thoughts on other comics - in particular, one of my favourite cosmic heroes, Quasar!
I guest on the Quantum Zone episode #76 where we review and do a reading from What If...? #25...which was heaps of fun, even though I had my hands full with my small son, Finn! Should be out next Friday!
Also, this Friday, I'll be recording with Dave, another fellow Collective member, for another guest spot on The Signal of Doom Podcast!
We'll be looking at all that's been in the comic news over the past week, as well as reviewing some of this week's comics...AND reviewing a trade of the week (a fave of mine) - Valiant Comics' BLOODSHOT (2012) Vol. 1. Can't wait - the episode will be out by the end of the weekend too, so will complement the release of our own episode for your listening pleasure...
OK, that's a nice chunky (or CHONKY) sized newsletter right there! I'm off to read more comics...! Keep reading Moon Knight, keep in touch in the ITK community and make sure everyone can see you coming!

BONUS EPISODE ٢ : INTERVIEW WITH CULLEN BUNN
In collaboration with fellow Collective member, Capes & Lunatics Podcast, guest hosts Phil and Chad sit down to have a chat with prominent comic book writer, Cullen Bunn, to chat all about his experiences writing at Marvel; his stint on Moon Knight; his thoughts on the new TV show announcement; his independent works; Deadpool....and of course the upcoming Moon Knight Annual #1, with our boy Moon Knight facing Kang the Conqueror!
A huge thank you to Phil over at Capes & Lunatics for stepping in, and for our very own Power of Chad, for creating this episode for your listening pleasure!
And of course a huge thank you to Cullen Bunn for his time, and for sharing his experiences and giving us some insight into the writing process..
Enjoy!

PUNISHER ANNUAL VOL.1, ISSUE 2
There's plenty to chat about!! Tune in and hear us gush!!!
SYNOPSIS (by Rey)
After witnessing a seemingly normal customer satiate their needs with 'hunger by gerbil' Marc Spector investigates which leads him to a mysterious organisation named, 'Save Our Society'.
Across town, The Punisher tracks down a small time criminal who has been knocking off eldery women's social security checks for drugs and it's not long before Frank is also led towards the shady, 'Save Our Society' - a NFP organisation dedicated to curing drug addicts.
Both Moon Knight and Punisher investigate one of the 'Save our Society' clinics in Long Island and upon finding The Punisher's intended target, Ralph Newton, things turn ugly. The two are attacked by serpentine humanoids as Ralph himself turns into a snake like being but the Punisher makes short work of him.
Regrouping back at Moon Knight's mansion, the next target is Borwardt Estate on Long Island, where both Madam Viper and a Dr. Tyrone are stationed and where Save our Society are based. More battles with serpent men ensues but this time Viper manages to drug the Punisher with what appears to be the same drug turning all the addicts into snake people. Frank goes mad, shooting anything and everything as Moon Knight continues to battle his way through in pursuit of Viper.
Viper manages to make good her escape and Moon Knight clashes with the drugged Punisher but manages to subdue him with a nifty stint of mesmerism.
Frank wakes up at Grant mansion, grateful to Moon Knight for rescuing, but he soon leaves to continue his ever raging war on crime.

Rey: Half Moon 🌖 - 5/10

Loony Readers, Listeners and everything in-between!
It's your vessel from the almighty Khonshu, funnelling to you all the weekly Moon Knight and Into the Knight news for your perusal and ultimate acceptance..!
As you can tell by the awkward and unusual title of this newsletter, our show will be randomly ambushed by a Punisher related issue -
PHASE OF THE MOON: 'I'LL SHOOT THE MOON....!'
PUNISHER ANNUAL VOL.1, ISSUE 2
Why, I hear you ask?....Well, technically it's because I have a very entertaining and intelligent guest this coming week in the form of Orion Petitclerc (some of you will know him from the fellow Collective podcast, 'We Are Venomaniacs!', whilst others of you would have recently heard Orion on the Last Sons of Krypton podcast, alongside Connor El and myself, talking all things Spectre!) and he's requested a review of this very memorable Punisher/Moon Knight clash!
It's literally been decades since I've read this (I have a copy of it somewhere in a filing cabinet at my folks' place) but I'm looking forward to re-reading this and seeing how Moon Knight fares against ol' world-weary Frank...they've always had an interesting relationship (of which is most recently seen in the Matt Rosenberg run of the Punisher, re: Vol. 12, issues #14-15) so no doubt Orion and I will have plenty to say about it!
NEW SEGMENT! - SPECTOR-LATIONYeah, this one I've been thinking about - you know how I always love to find ways to involve our ITK community on the show, so I thought I'd pursue this idea -
A few episodes ago, I kinda did an overview of some of the posts some Loonies posted up on the ITK Community (mostly from our Facebook Group, but I keep an eye out on all the platforms...). I thought it would be fun to at least shout out some posts from Loonies, and if worth discussing, then will mention on the show.
I'd like to acknowledge and thank fellow Loony Austin Brackett for supplying the name of this segment - keep your ears out for this - there are a few shoutouts to posts from Loonies which I'll share this coming episode...and maybe even a plug again for our Discord Server, as a fair few of us had a right ol' time chatting there with a new Loony...Anyway, all to be shouted out on next episode! :)
GUEST APPEARANCES
Finally, the second part to the Two-Part Predator Retrospective should be up sometime today (Wednesday) from the 20th Century Geek Podcast. Host Scott was kind enough to invite myself and Dave from the Signal of Doom Podcast again to chat about the remaining Predator films of the franchise as well as broadly speaking of the 'Predator Vs. ....' comics released in the past. I have to tell you, that I've never had such an enjoyable and immersive conversation as I had with these blokes...I totally forgot the time, and the Predator fanboy in me had my eyes lit up from beginning to end! Highly recommend you give this a go if you are a seasoned fan or a curious Loony wanting to know what this Predator thing is all about!
That's pretty much it for this newsletter, Loonies! There's a little mention to our online store yet again at the bottom of the newsletter. Be sure to check it out... for a limited time, all items are like 35% off, so it's a good time to cash in on some ITK merchandise!
Hahaha, enough of the salesman in me... be good to one another, and thanks for being part of our community!
