PHASE OF THE MOON: WAXING GIBBOUS CRESCENT
LUNAR-PICK REVIEW - MODERN RUN
MOON KNIGHT VOL. 6, ISSUE #2 - '1ST STORY'
Released August 2011 writer - Brian Michael Bendis artist + inks - Alex Maleev colourist - Matthew Wilson letterer - VC's Corey Petit editor - Tom Brevoort SYNOPSIS (courtesy of Wiki)Perched above a rooftop, Moon Knight stands with the hallucinations of Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Captain America as they debate as to which agent they should send in first. The group agrees that Spider-Man should enter first. Meanwhile, the lead henchwoman known as Snapdragon is briefing her adult dancers on the rules for the clientele who come through the high-profile adult entertainment club; listen and report to Snapdragon. In the middle of her speech, Spider-Man arrives with metal wristbands. Two large bouncers surround him and Spider-Man jumps into action while Wolverine, Captain America, and Moon Knight coach him. As Spider-Man is battling the guards, Snapdragon joins the fray. Once she senses that this is not the real Spider-Man under the suit, she attempts to unmask him to expose Marc's face. This triggers the Wolverine inside of him as his wrist gauntlets become claws. As Wolverine (mentally), Marc nearly gets the upper hand but he is shot in the shoulder. Just as the guards are getting ready to dispose the body, an adult dancer attacks and escorts an unconscious Marc out the building.
Marc wakes up in a unknown bed, patched, and with the dancer; Maya Lopez, aka, Echo. She was three weeks undercover with the dancers and nearly found the organization running LA but Marc arrived and blew her cover. Marc learns that she is deaf but she wants to learn more about Marc and why he is carrying a Spider-Man mask. Meanwhile, Snapdragon reports back to her leader that Moon Knight, not Spider-Man, attacked them. The mysterious LA Kingpin is upset as this is the second thing Moon Knight has taken from him. Snapdragon vows to take him out and wants to assemble a team to do so; he agrees.

EPISODE 103:
Khonshu's Priest, Rey is joined by very special guest Phil Perich in this Part Two of the Into the Knight / Ultimate Spider-Cast Crossover!
Rey and Phil travel back in time to the 90's and continue their review of a handful of comics which overlapped from 'Spider-man' and 'Marc Spector: Moon Knight'.
The phases of the Moon are up for grabs again, and Rey makes a pact with Khonshu for Episode 103 and 104... essentially, the phases are flipped and we look at a two-part arc review!

Loony-ites!
We here at ITK pride ourselves with promoting an open and inclusive community, so it's with great pleasure that our next episode will be a crossover of sorts with fellow Collective podcast, The Ultimate Spider-Cast!
The Spider-Cast is one of a plethora of podcasts hosted by the fine people over at The Capes & Lunatics: Sidekicks Podcast, most notably Phil Perich and Lilith (I love the name!) Hellfire!
Part One of our Crossover includes an arc where our boi, Moon Knight crosses paths with not only the Black Symbiote Spider-man, but also the deadly and dangerous Demo-Goblin!
Part One should be available now, by the time this Newsletter drops, so please check it out on the link below:
The Ultimate Spider-Cast - Bonus Episode #27.5 (Spider-Cast/ITK Crossover)
Part Two will be our next episode coming up for your glorious listening pleasure, and we'll also be joined by special guest co-host Phil, from the Ultimate Spider-Cast to make the crossover all but official!
I'm looking forward to chatting with Phil again and some of you may already know that we've collaborated in the past, with Phil's very own ISLA RA episode ( ITK Episode 64 ) and I jumped onto his podcast to discuss one of my other passions, Peter David's X-Factor run (Capes & Lunatics: X-Factor #71-#83)
We've made another deal with Khonshu and this time, we're swapping the Phases of the Moon (the absence of Khonshu's Sceptre allows this!) so what is meant to be a Waxing Crescent, we'll pretend it's a Waxing Gibbous....
PHASE OF THE MOON: WANING CRESCENT GIBBOUS
MARC SPECTOR: MOON KNIGHT VOLUME 3, ISSUES #32-33
'HALF-LIFE / TORN' BY HOWARD MACKIE & RON GARNEY
As is our usual modus operandi, I'll post up a discussion thread for these two issues, but please feel free to send us feedback also on the Spider-man issues featured on The Ultimate Spider-Cast!
Apart from the discussion thread on our FB Page and Group, you can also send us your thoughts on the platforms below...
OK, well, with June now behind us there have been the final standings of our #ITKMoonKnight Fantasy Comic League Division!
#ITKMoonKnight 2019 Fantasy Comic League - Final June Standings
Connorshu took out the month of May, and the other High Priest Rey takes out June...but hey, let's give kudos to all the Loonies in the division! We're doing pretty well against the other divisions...not quite there yet, but for our first go, I'd say we have to be pretty proud of our effort!
I'm in the process of getting FCL Host Brian on the show to chat all about our ITK Division's effort and a bit more on the Fantasy Comic League for those who are interested...it's heaps of fun, and it will be great to chat with Brian - more details of that to come! But in any case, here are the final score cards of June for your perusal!
High Priest of Khonshu, Reynaldo Gesmundo
I was lucky with this - I stuck to the tried and true and it managed to keep me in the lead by the skin of my teeth!...Like in Endgame, Stark pulled it out of the fire, for me...
Tommy 'The Man on the Streets' Kawel
Tommy is just one point shy of joining the lead at the end of the month, and it were the powerhouses of Punisher and Thor which sold it for him...come to think of it, Daredevil cracked over 20 points too, so all cylinders were firing for Tommy here...
Dustin 'Cold Case' Kurtz
Dustin takes the middle of the pack and as you can see, Wolverine did most of the point scoring...no guesses as to who Cold Case will hold onto going into July...and with the Wolverine vs. Blade mini coming out, you'd think he may hold onto the Daywalker too...
High Priest of Khonshu, Connorshu Stephens
My priest in arms, poor Connorshu has been the victim of i) not being able to retain any of his roster from the previous month of May since he topped the division, ii) two of his roster were auto-drafted due to late submission of drafts...Captain Marvel fired big time, but not even the power cosmic of the Silver Surfer and 'Silver Surfer: Black' could help our High Priest this time...
'The Power of' Chad Jernigan
If anything, Chad is consistent! Sticking true to his original roster, Chad manages to work a bit of magic via the efforts of the She-Hulk, but unfortunately Loki and X-23 had a pretty quiet month. There's that Loki mini series on it's way which may prove a dark horse for The Power of Chad. One of Chad's favourite characters may finally gain his time in the sun!
As for how we fared against the other divisions...we're getting there, but we're up against some seasoned, experienced teams...
#RedRoom 390
#Midtown 387
#Asgard 322
#ITKMoonKnight 296
As before, #RedRoom and #Midtown don't have a Spidey ban, hence the larger numbers (Spidey is a MASSIVE VIP in FCL!)
OH! Just one thing about our on-going podcast serial....let me know if you want to be part of THE HUNT FOR KHONSHU'S GOLDEN SCEPTRE.
I've already written parts 4-6, but if you want to weigh in and write a 3 mins episode, let us know!! Always glad to share the Moony love, and this time, it's the Loonies who try and track down Khonshu's Holy relic!
Or, if you want to hear yourself on the show, and want to give a go at voice acting, hit us up and we'll write you in! It's all a bit of fun, and after speaking with Wayne (who co-hosted on last week's episode) I may just put these all together and make one continuous serial and post on our website or something... it'll be a proud achievement and if you want to be 'immortalised' in our premium production, you just need say the word!
As one final FINAL thing - I'm so dang excited...! I placed my order for the Mezco One:12 White Moon Knight figure...it is such a beautiful looking figure with all the accessories, I just couldn't ignore it...won't be available in Australia until November 28th, so I'm already saving my pennies for when it does turn up on my Standing Order!
Right - ee - oh!
That about wraps it for this lil newsletter - be sure to drop by our ITK community to discuss and share anything Moon Knight related!
Keep listening;

EPISODE 102:
A last minute change of plans, sees Rey joined by the talented Mr. Hunt!...Wayne joins the show to talk about what's been happening in the ITK community; his love for Howard the Duck; the logistical labour that goes into setting up a stall at a con; and finally both Loonies take a look at another LUNAR-PICK Classic Run review,

Dearest Followers of Moon Knight!
It's an albeit late-ish newsletter, but I hope you do excuse the tardiness as things have been quite hectic at this end of the temple!
As you may have heard from our latest episode, so GLORIOUSLY put together by the High Priests Connor and Rebecca, I've been away for a stint as I've had some pressing 'real life' matters to attend to.
Not to get too much into it, all I will say is that Connor and Rebecca did such a cool episode for our first of the 'New Attitude Era' and I can't thank them enough for stepping in whilst I had other things to pour my energy into.
If you haven't heard the episode yet, please do yourself a favour and catch it on any of the main podcast catchers, or on the podcast catcher of your choice!
So, what else has been happening, and what's to come?
As had been alluded to in our episode 100 and 101, with Khonshu's Sceptre gone (as has been the theme of our ITK serial...more on that later!), our podcast system is out of whack, so regardless of the phases of the Moon, we've had different episode-types coming out for your listening pleasure.
Although we had a LUNAR-PICK classic run review in episode 101, we'll be having another classic run review for your Moony needs:
PHASE OF THE MOON: WANING CRESCENT
MOON KNIGHT VOLUME 1, ISSUE #7
'THE MOON KINGS' BY DOUG MOENCH & BILL SIENKIEWICZ
Not only that, but we have special Loony guest, Knol Tate joining us as well, to go through what will no doubt be a very trippy comic book review and story!
In addition to prepping for our comic book review this weekend, we've also progressed with our ITK serial, 'THE HUNT FOR KHONSHU'S GOLDEN SCEPTRE' which will form part of our episodes from time to time.
For those of you who haven't come across it, it's another vehicle we would like to put forward and see if any Loonies would be keen to participate! Whether you like to write, or voice act...or even just have ideas, please feel free to drop us a line and we'll see how to get you in amongst it!
The first three episodes have already dropped via our 100th episode a few weeks back, and only just recently, we've released them as separate episodes on the podcast for ease of access! I've also been working on the next three episodes which are looking to expand the storyline and reveal a few surprises for you all!
As always, you can drop us a line to discuss any of the comic books we review or if you want to join in on our fun ITK activities such as the ITK serial -
Right - now also pressing on...we've more results from our Fantasy Comic League Division, here for your consideration -
#ITKMoonKnight 2019 Fantasy Comic League - June, Week 3
The current season of #FantasyComicLeague continues on in the month of June, Loonies, and we've got an update on the new drafts that your team members (Connorshu, Dustin, Chad, Tommy and Rey) have chosen for the new month.
We're nearing the end of this second month of the season, and I've got to admit I'm pretty lucky as we've had the auto-draft rule in place (for those who don't get their drafts in on time), and I hate to say it, but I bear the fruit of others' misgivings! (Sorry Connor!)...So here is how we stand with only one more week left in the month -
High Priest of Khonshu, Reynaldo Gesmundo
Sticking with the classic heroes, I've come out well this past week, with Deadpool, Cap and Iron Man being three of the top six performers of the week!
Tommy 'The Man on the Streets' Kawel
Tommy has been tussling for second spot with Dustin this month, and he edges ahead only slightly, with good performances by Frank and Matt this week...
Dustin 'Cold Case' Kurtz
Cold Case isn't far behind and his VIP card of Wolverine certainly has been a massive help for him during the month. It's a shame Ghost Rider hadn't yielded more points...but it's all to do with the book releases, so you never know what the last week brings...
High Priest of Khonshu, Connorshu Stephens
Connorshu unfortunately has been hampered with a couple of auto-drafts which were chosen at random and which have not been very bountiful for our High Priest. Thougth maybe the Silver Surfer would have given more, but his appearances have been limited, so not much you can do there. Carol proves her worth though, and brings in a healthy sum...
'The Power of' Chad Jernigan
Chad rounds off the Division and Loki gets some points! Alas, it's not enough for our most loyal of Loonies - a decent rack of points form Bucky is some consolation...
Thanks once again fair Loonies - I'll call it a night here (have typed enough for one day I think...between scripts and newsletters!)... keep an eye on out ITK community and remember, it's for everyone to share and participate in - no matter if you just like to see it all unfold, or if you want to be more a part of the things we try to cook up - it's all good and fun, and we just are so appreciative of having such a good community of folk!
Discussion thread for comic review coming up...check out Twitter, FB Page and Group!....
