She talks more about the spiritual and life lessons she learned in her book which is about to be released called Here We Grow.

#90. How to Know When It’s Your Intuition Guiding You Apr 27, 2018
    Show notes

How do you know it is Intuitive Guidance OR your busy mind coming up with ideas? What constitutes an intuitive-hit or a nudge from the Universe?

--- Channel Your Chill, my group program is currently open for registration! Check it out here: www.thrive.how/channelyourchill ---

A listener reached out to me recently to ask this, and she is far from the first person to bring it up. I can still remember back when I was sure I didn't have an intuitive bone in my body. Now - 5 years later - I consider myself incredibly tuned in to my inner guidance system.

In this episode I'm talking through 4 particular checkpoints that can help you ascertain whether you're in alignment with your inner knowing, or whether you may have got caught in rumination or your overthinking mind.

Some of the things covered include:

    • The difference between Green Light intuition and your Warning System intuition
    • How intuition is a feeling rather than thinking system
    • How intuitive guidance will struggle to be heard over loud thoughts
    • What you can do to tune-inward and tune-out the outside world so you can hear your intuition
    • How seeking approval outside of yourself kills intuitive connection
    • How impulsivity is not intuition, and how if you are impulsive you can benefit from building in a contemplative practice before jumping to act
    • How trust is crucial to the process
    • And the fineprint when it comes to intuition. What it can and can't do.

There are quotes that I have peppered throughout this interview. If you would like to get those, head to www.thrive.how/podcast90

I also mention Ali Katz free Intuition Journal. You can find that here: http://www.hotmesstomindfulmom.com/intuition-journal/

    Show notes

This is an important, enlightening and super useful information. Becca Reed Smith is a Therapist & Mindset coach. She shares with us here her straightforward guidance, and she explains concepts that most of us find challenging, in very real and understandable ways.

We talk about a lot in this podcast, but some of the particulars include:

    • Understanding that Fear is Normal
    • How common it is to not feel good enough at times
    • The importance of stepping out of our Comfort Zones when it comes to Fear + Self-Doubt
    • Imposter Syndrome, and a discussion on the "who am I to ..." statement many of us play in our heads
    • How once we feel safe and grounded, our options open up
    • How stress can eventually lead us to feeling numb and that is our nervous system simply doing its job and trying to regulate the big emotions
    • Cognitive dissonance - what it is, and how we can use it to our advantage
    • And how our Doubting Dialogue often shows up in the form of "what if" questions and what we can do it quieten it

    #87. Niki Taylor - Reiki 101 & Universal Energy Apr 06, 2018
    Show notes

Niki is an experienced Reiki Master-Teacher with a really interesting story. She offers both Reiki sessions and also facilitates Reiki practitioner training workshops.

After reaching her own rock bottom, struggling with anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts, she was led to Reiki through a series of synchronistic events. We talk more about her journey and I get my Reiki-for-dummies questions answered.

I’ve been interested, yet confused, by the concept of Reiki for the longest time. So long, I felt it was about time I simply had a conversation where I had the chance to ask all of my completely inexperienced questions.

And if I’m a little nosy about what on earth this Reiki thing is, then I’m betting a few of you have heard about it too. Or maybe you haven’t? If you have or you haven’t – you’ll still get SO much out of this conversation.

Some of the things we cover in this episode include:

    - What Reiki actually is

    - How energy can be sent through time and space

    - How we all have our unique energy signature, which means that two of us can do the same thing very differently

    - How the idea of energy can be scary when you come from a religious background, but how it can be thought of as just another label for the holy spirit or gods presence

    - How even if you aren’t a Reiki practitioner you can use Reiki energy

    - The importance of the “feel good” factor when choosing a practitioner (or a Life Coach for that matter)

    - How we can process the hurt and fear we see in the world today

    - What sending #loveandlight means from a reiki perspective

    - How we have the power to raise or lower our vibrations

    - How important water is to our well-being and our we can supercharge our own water to make it even more awesome

    - And tones more of course

To find Niki, you can head to www.awakenspiritualtruths.com or on Instagram@highvelocityspiritualcoach.

#86: Why Do You Get Up Every Morning? Mar 30, 2018
    Show notes

It's another play it again episode! If you want to live a deeply fulfilling life, you can't afford not to dive deeply into yourself.

This episode made a splash when I released it the first time, and it's also one of my favs. It's hard hitting goodness. I'm going deep in these 12 min asking you - What Matters to You? What is Your Why?

I'm talking about getting to your core using Simon Sinek's idea of Starting with Why.

Here's the blog post I reference of mine:

Linds Reeding - A Short Lesson in Perspective

    http://www.businessinsider.com/its-not-worth-it-linds-reddings-short-lesson-in-perspective-2012-11

The questions I challenge you to answer:

    • What matters most to you?
    • What do you believe in?
    • What would make you so very proud of yourself?
    • Finally, are you living in alignment with these things or getting closer to them?
    • Why? Why are you doing what you do? Why does it matter to you?

If you enjoyed this and haven't yet listened to April Seifert's recent episode - #81. Stop Living by Default - listen to that to really hit this message home! https://www.thrive.how/podcast81/

#85. Tahlee Rouillon (Sonesence): Peace, Brainwaves + Following Your Bliss Mar 23, 2018
    Show notes

This episode with guest Tahlee Rouillon is full of magic. It was so juicy, and I was so engaged I totally forget to ask her my standard set of questions!

The conversation is one part inspiration and one part the geeky and fascinating science behind binaural beats (or Meditones as Tahlee refers to them). In the first half of the conversation we talk in depth about Tahlee's finding her way to her soul's calling, and how she took anything but the direct route. Her journey is inspirational as it is so real, and you can also see the thread of magic that wove through it and brought her right back to where she was supposed to be.

The second part is a fascinating discussion about the power certain types of music have to deepen our states and change our brainwaves. Tahlee makes her music, Meditones, which are designed to help people go into slower brainwaves states much more frequently. We also discuss just how meditation can make us feel calmer and more present in our waking hours due to neuroplasticity and our brain's ability to create new pathways.

Honestly, I was mesmerized. If you're fascinated by any of the following, don't miss this episode:

    • The idea that if you don't struggle you never build resilience
    • What a Saturn Return is, and how it shows up much like a quarter-life crisis (and how Tahlee experienced hers hard and heavy!)
    • How we can live lives that are just 'fine' or dare to feel true joy
    • How the biggest adventures in our lives often stir simultaneously feelings of terror and excitement within us
    • An explanation of the 4 different brainwaves states we experience
    • Benefits of listening to music at particular frequencies
    • How binaural beats or Meditones can induce instant calm, remove anxiety and so much more
    • How Meditones are perfect for people who struggle to meditate
    • How exactly meditation works from a brain perspective and makes us happier humans in our waking hours
    • An awesome explanation of neuroplasticity
    • How it is we get stuck in habits and repeat the same behaviors even when we don't want to.

Tahlee mentions her free Meditones which you can access yourself here: http://www.sonesence.com/freemeditones/

#84. Are You Reactive or Proactive? Mar 16, 2018
    Show notes

I'm playing it again, because this concept is important, yet super simple.

Are you reactive or proactive in life?

This isn't necessarily a cut and dried question. Depending on what is going on in our lives we will often slip back into functioning very much in a reactive state, even if we're naturally more proactive people.

It's about getting stuck on the treadmill of life and forgetting to step back for a second.

In this episode I will talk through ways in which you can get yourself out of a rut and start living life from your front foot again.

#83. Katie Dalebout on Wellness, Recovery + Journaling Mar 09, 2018
    Show notes

Katie Dalebout is the women behind the podcast and book - Let it Out. She is a woman in Wellness, yet she has been on quite a journey with it. She professes to like a Green Juice as much as the next girl, but over the years her approach to wellness has widened and deepened.

As she journeyed through the world of Wellness, Katie also found journaling, and one of the reasons I love her is that she believes that getting to have those real and honest conversations with ourselves is one of the most empowering things we can ever do.

    In this episode we talk:

    • How not everything in the Wellness world is always well and good
    • When Wellness can become problematic, and what signs you should be looking for
    • What Orthorexia is
    • How journaling is one of the best tools to get to know ourselves better
    • Why Katie prefers a legal pad to pretty journals when she is letting it all out
    • and so much more.

Katie can be found over at katiedalebout.com. Her book, Let it Out: a Journey through Journaling is on Amazon or other places epically awesome books can be found.

I also mentioned the upcoming release of her Podcasting School. Check back here for a link once it is LIVE.

#82. PEP TALK: A Positive Manifesto for the Tough Days Mar 02, 2018
    Show notes

This is a little pep talk that you can listen to over and over again. The type of listen that I hope you will come back to when you need a reminder of your strength and of your power.

    It's for:

    • The days and the times when you feel like life has kicked you in the guts
    • When you feel uncertain about your future
    • For soothing your heart when it's broken
    • Reminding you that perfect isn't the goal, you're not behind, and that you're more powerful than you think.

It is a positive manifesto, but real, heartfelt and not glossy. Life isn't easy some days, but you've got this.

I reference Lucy Kalanithi in this episode. I heard her statement in her interview with Kate Bower on the podcast - Everything Happens.
