#38. Future You + Why That is Even Important Mar 31, 2017
    Show notes

This episode I'm talking why it's important to consider a Future Vision for yourself. Change is a constant, and yet most of us underestimate how much we do change! If we're not in the driving seat, setting our course, life has a tendency to just happen to us.

    Here I'm going deeper into:

    • How it's easy to look backward, but looking forward requires us to look inside
    • The difference between Therapy vs. Coaching
    • What life is like when you're on the Offense rather than on the Defence
    • And how taking the time to think about your future breeds possibility (and possibility contains a spark of magic in my mind! ;))

I reference Dan Gilbert's TED talk, The Psychology of Your Future Self: https://www.ted.com/talks/dan_gilbert_you_are_always_changing

I also refer to an article I find useful in describing the difference between Therapy & Coaching by Patrick Williams. You can download a copy of that here: http://www.cce-global.org/Assets/BCC/Resources/CoachingvsPsychologyTheGreatDebate.pdf

#37. How I Marry the Mystical with the Practical Mar 24, 2017
    Show notes

I’m getting personal and talking about my struggle to integrate both the Mystical & Practical sides of myself. I now recognize that it was through finding a way to do so, that I have ultimately been able to find my sense of wholeness.

    Specifically, I’m discussing:

    • What Mysticism is
    • The Left Brain/Right Brain divide
    • How we mainly live in a Left Brain world (and how Science may have screwed us)
    • And how Action is the key to bringing the mystical stuff into the real world

I’ve also got 3 questions for you to ask yourself to help you integrate what is coming up from your mystical side:

    · What is rising in me that wants to be expressed?

    · What can I do to bring this to life?

    · What are my next 3 simple steps?

In this episode, I mention Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor and her book, My Stroke of Insight. You can also watch her TED talk here: http://www.ted.com/talks/jill_bolte_taylor_s_powerful_stroke_of_insight

I also talk about a book that I found life-changing, A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle. It won’t change everyone's’ (I’ve decided no book ever really has!), but it turned up right when I was ready to read it and helped me look at my world differently.

#32. 3 Tips to Help You Improve Your Relationship Feb 17, 2017
    Show notes

We all want a happy relationship with our significant, but the reality is, relationships aren't always easy! Marriage counseling isn't always an option, and a healthy relationship does take two partners who want to make it work. But if you're wanting some tips on what you can do from your side to help your relationship thrive, I'm sharing 3 things that are within your control here. These 3 simple tips that can help keep your relationship feeling happy, healthy and insulated against the hard times, and stop you needing to cry out for marriage help!

And if you're single, but hope to one day be one-half of a successful pairing, this is also a must listen. If you start a relationship off with these three things in mind, you'll set yourself up right from the start.

In this episode I'm talking through:

    • The importance of recognizing how your happiness contributes to your relationship satisfaction
    • The 5.1 ratio that research indicates is all important in the health of your relationship
    • Relationship gratitude and how it can help you reframe things
    • And how to "nurture" your relationship and why that is even important

If you'd like to read more about the relationship research I mention, you can look up the researcher, Dr. John Gottman.

#31. A Matter of Mindset - A Simple Hack to Help You Feel More Empowered Feb 10, 2017
    Show notes

This episode I'm borrowing from psychology and talking through a simple concept that can have big impacts on how you approach the world. I'm taking the theory and making it relevant at an individual level to help you foster a positive mindset. I want to help you remember the power you have to create your own life.

This is modern spirituality mixed with self-help. I'm talking through the theory rooted in fact and contextualizing it deeply with my views on spirituality - because if I can buy into something at a soul level, I always find it more meaningful.

    This episode specifically goes over:

    • The difference between the world happening to you, and you happening to the world
    • A psychological concept called Locus of Control
    • How this one idea can have such a big impact on your mindset
    • Why your mindset matters anyway
    • How I believe Earth is a Soul-School and why that is relevant
    • And ultimately, tools that can help you change your mindset and feel more empowered

I talk through a story of a man Waiting For God to Save Him in this episode. If you'd like a summary of that in web-form, head over here: http://epistle.us/inspiration/godwillsaveme.html
