#29. How to Stay Sane in Amongst the Political Craziness Jan 30, 2017
    Show notes

The world has gone a little loco in the last couple of weeks - well that is how it feels from where I am sitting! And I know I'm not alone in my feelings of uneasiness and concern.

As we appear to be becoming ever more divided, I want to put a little break in the political hysteria and encourage you to do three things:

    • Look for the good
    • Commit to re-centering yourself
    • Turn your emotional energy into meaning

If we can be conscious about how we are approaching the current political situation, we will come through it feeling less drained and beaten up and more empowered and clear. This podcast will help you focus that and remind you how to come back to what matters rather than being distracted by the noise that constantly surrounds us these days.

I mention a TED talk in the episode. It is by Robb Willer - How to have better Political Discussions

#28. Common Habits that are Undermining Your Happiness Jan 13, 2017
    Show notes

In this week's episode, I'm talking through 4 habits that commonly get in the way of people's happiness, as well as strategies to help get a handle on them. They're things that often come up in my Life Coaching sessions and having noticed a definite trend around these points I thought it is something worth talking too.

The New Year is often a time when we think about what we want, but many of us neglect to consider what we don't want. This podcast focuses in on the question of:

    • What do I want less of?

I ask this question in my Free Life Planning Kit. If you'd like to download your copy, head over to my website and pop in your details: www.thrive.how/2017

#22: Putting Your Life Back Together - How to Recover from Burnout Nov 25, 2016
    Show notes

In this one I'm talking about the 3 phases that can help you put things back together after you've reached your rock-bottom or feel truly burned out and exhausted. Burnout is no fun, but even when you're feeling low, there are ways to keep moving forward.

In this episode I specifically address the 3 phases of personal recovery:

    • Being Gentle with Ourselves
    • Reevaluating Things
    • Restructuring

When we're proactive and make sure we move through each of these phases, we set ourselves up for a more sustainable life that leads us to being happier and healthier humans.

I pose a few questions in this episode. If you want to come back and reflect, they include:

    • When was the last time you did something for the pure enjoyment of it?
    • How did I get here?
    • What is out of balance in my life?
    • What needs to change?
