In this podcast, Dr. Berg talks about the missing food in the most ketogenic diet plan. The big category of food that should be included is Vegetables. Most of the time, people deduct consuming vegetable carbohydrate to try to come up with the carb macros which you shouldn’t include the vegetables because leafy greens and other vegetables are low in a glycemic index. Vegetables are mostly fiber and fiber even though it is a carbohydrate does not influence insulin at all. Ketogenic Diet Plan Macros • Carbs: 20-50g per day • Protein: Moderate • Fat: 70-80% of total categories Here’s why it is recommended to Consume More Vegetables: 1. Faster Transition – Potassium and Magnesium 2. Less Side Effects 3. Fiber

    In this podcast, Dr. Berg explains the real problem why a person who is in deep ketosis and are tested positive in ketones but still no weight loss. Ketosis is shifting glucose metabolism into ketones and the amount of ketone you’re burning is about 40% and the rest are fatty acids. Insulin resistance is the root cause for slowing the metabolism and stubborn weight loss. It was created by two things;

    1. Amount of insulin that is been stimulated through the diet.

    2. Time this occurred – exposure of insulin in a period of time.

Causes of No or Slow Weight Loss

    1. Eating TOO much fat

    2. Slow metabolism

    3. Severe Insulin Resistance – it takes a lot of time.

    DATA: http://bit.ly/2X8vINh

In this podcast, we’re going to talk about the ketogenic diet and navy seals. I’m going to cover why the navy seals are now doing a ketogenic diet plan.

Deep diving increases the risk of seizures. But, doing the ketogenic diet plan is very effective for epileptic seizures.

The military is now funding research on ketosis. They’re finding that keto is not only good for reducing seizures but that it also helps navy seals hold their breath. It’s not because keto increases oxygen, it’s because keto decreases CO2.

Ketosis is a better and more efficient fuel source. Ketosis puts out more sustained energy, but it produces a lot less CO2, which allows a diver to maintain their oxygen underwater.

I think they will also soon start to notice how keto benefits cognitive function (increased focus, memory, and concentration).

If your metabolism is slow and or you need and want to lose more weight in less time, you may want to do this. Start out gradually and then go longer and longer without eating. 3. Decrease inflammation

Important Point: WHEN you eat is more important than WHAT you eat.

    Insulin Resistance:

    http://bit.ly/2SfbQug

    http://bit.ly/2xiEFsH

In this podcast, can just looking at sweets and carbs cause a spike in blood sugar?

Or will it trigger an insulin response? That’s exactly what we’re going to cover in this video.

The answer is no – not in a fasting state. Looking at sweets and carbs will not cause an insulin spike.

The primary triggers of blood sugar are glucose and things that turn into glucose. But, anything you eat has the potential to trigger insulin just for the fact that you ate it. If it’s more carbohydrate, it will trigger your blood sugar more. If it’s less carbohydrate and more fat, it will trigger your blood sugar less.

Chronic high insulin can lead to insulin resistance.

Other triggers that can cause a blood sugar spike:

    • Cortisol – Stress

    • GIP

    • Protein – especially if it’s low fat
