The Intimates Brand that Sold for $320 MILLION and Completely Disrupted the Category, with Joanna Griffiths, Founder and President of Knix Sep 14, 2023
    Show notes

“I came up with this concept to change the way that people thought about underwear.” Joanna Griffiths, founder and president of Knix, created a billion dollar category within the intimate apparel industry when she designed leak-proof period underwear.

Joanna's commitment to designing products for genuine bodies and real-life situations led to incredible success for a brand that champions diversity and inclusivity. Through comprehensive research and testing, she developed high-quality, comfortable period underwear tailored to authentic needs. Beyond product development, Joanna’s intuition guided pivotal business choices, including her fundraising approaches and her decision to part ways with retail partners who didn't align with Knix's core values.

Joanna’s story is both enlightening and raw. Unlike many polished tales of entrepreneurship, she honestly shares challenges she faced, dispelling the misconception that business success happens instantaneously.

    Key Takeaways:

    • When you have to make a decision that's going to impact your business, good or bad, you have to trust your instinct.
    • Believe in yourself and set your own parameters. It's your company and your rules, so set them.
    • Find a tribe of female founders that are going through it, too.

    Quotes:

    • “I look back and there were certain moments and I have distinct memories of moments where I should have said something back, like something so rude was said to me that I should have walked out and I didn't. And I wish I had, because when you just sit there and you eat it and you accept it, I know for sure that person has gone on to say bad things to multiple people, you know? Because they felt like it was totally appropriate.” (33:55 | Joanna)
    • “I think you're nervous in the beginning to say no, because you're never sure if another opportunity is gonna come around. And one of the things that I've realized, like, you know, now being at this for a while and being a female founder for a while, is if we wanna see change, we all have to hold the power of no. And we have to reward the people who are good actors, and we have to say, fuck off to the ones that aren't.” (36:53 | Joanna)

Part 1: 31 Days to Ignite Your Brand Sep 05, 2023
    Show notes

Today Award-Winning Entrepreneur and Host of Dear FoundHer...Lindsay Pinchuk, is sharing with you 31 actionable steps that you can start taking TODAY to Ignite Your brand.

In this episode, Lindsay's sharing many of the exact steps I share with her consulting clients, coaching clients and the students in the classes she teaches.

You don’t need a million dollars or a million followers to have a viable business. But you do need a strategy and a plan that you can put to work for you each and every month.

Marketing your brand, business or company can feel like e a lot…why? Because it is. Especially if you’re a small business trying to juggle it all.

But there are a few keys to success when marketing your brand:

    1. Put your community first….always.
    2. Put processes in place. Each of these steps we are outlining today will help you get to a place where you can have a regular action plan in the future. Memorialize your processes and stick to them.
    3. Just get started. Today is Day 1—follow these steps to get to a place where you have a plan moving forward. You have to start somewhere…and honestly, there is no better place than here and now.

Before you take any of these steps, you're going to want to identify your target customer and who you want to be in your brand’s community. Very clearly write out who they are—create an avatar for them. Most important, identify what their problems are and how you and your product/service/brand/company can solve them. Lindsay talks more about how to do this in today's conversation.

    Are you ready? LFG!

How to Add a Digital Product or Course to Your Offering, with Molly Keyser, Founder of Freedom Creator Aug 31, 2023
    Show notes

"Think about what's a really painful problem you can solve for your ideal client. And then you can ask yourself, what do I think is the best delivery method for getting them that result?" says Molly Keyser.

Molly began her journey with a photography studio in her teens and evolved to master the art of creating and selling digital products, boasting seven-figure annual revenues. In this episode, Molly shares the skills that have helped her create this success - the art of learning from your following, using that knowledge to craft products that they will love, and the power of pre-selling courses.

Molly explains how to persuade prospects by describing your product with the language your ideal clients use themselves. And she shares how she uses tools like Canva to amplify your product’s appeal, making it not just informative but visually captivating.

Molly’s insights will guide you in crafting products that don’t just sell, but meaningfully impact your ideal client!

    Key Takeaways:

    • When creating digital products, focus on solving a painful problem for your ideal client rather than getting caught up in the type of product to create.
    • Before creating a course, send out surveys or host group chats to gather feedback and understand the specific needs of your audience.
    • Pre-sell your course by offering live teaching sessions and creating a sense of exclusivity and access to you as the expert.

    Quotes:

    • "If you don't have an email list, start building one yesterday. Your email list is going to be the lifeblood of your online business. (20:02 | Molly)
    • “Here’s the thing, if you feel uncomfortable charging a certain amount, it will never sell.” (35:44 | Molly)
