Ep. 156 The Bachelor: Shanae is Being Shellfish (Season 26, Week 4) Feb 01, 2022

Show notes

We are bringing back the tarot readings for every episode of Clayton’s season of The Bachelor. This week Megan asked the Final Rose Tarot cards what we can expect from this season of the Bachelor. Megan pulled the Free Spirit card, AKA the Page of Roses. This card is all about being in touch with your playful and carefree side. Megan thinks this card is lying to us, but maybe Danielle sees something, do you?

We are back to Shrimp Gate 2022 aka the crustacean kerfuffle. We watch grown ass women fight over shrimp and hot tubs. It’s enough, we cannot keep doing this. Please save us from this torment. We see Clayton make a dumb ass decision and send Elizabeth home. The women travel to an exotic, “international,” and exclusive destination, Houston, Texas. We see Clayton’s “black voice” come out. We see a date with Rachel and more drama after the tackle football date, where Marlena doesn’t get the shine she deserves. We hate this season.

This week we again say goodbye to our BIPOC highlight. This week we are highlighting Doctor Kira! Kira has been calm, cool, and collected on the show. Off the show, she has been using her platform for good, think Doctor Joe, relating what we have seen on the show to some medical facts like body diversity/inclusion, CPR and ADHD. Did we mention she is STUNNING (watch her reel of trying on dresses for the show). Follow Kira on Instagram! We also say goodbye to Melina, keep hopping sis.

Ep. 155 The Bachelor: This Show is White and Stupid (Season 26, Week 3) Jan 25, 2022

Show notes

This week we are joined again by friend of the pod, Renise, of the Black Bachelor Babes!

We are bringing back the tarot readings for every episode of Clayton’s season of The Bachelor. This week Megan asked the Final Rose Tarot cards what we can expect from this season of the Bachelor. Megan pulled the In your Head card, AKA the Eight of Mirrors. This card is all about building up insecurities in your head and playing the victim. We definitely see that play out in this episode… Hello, Shanae.

We start the episode with the remaining drama from the last episode, including last week’s rose ceremony. We also get a trauma porn group date, a naked scavenger hunt one-on-one date with Sarah, and a Baywatch-themed group date. We also get another extreme amount of Shanae foolishness. Some may say too much. Who is some? Us. We say it’s too much.

This week we say goodbye and highlight Ms. Asset, Tessa! We are really sad to see her go but knew Clayton wasn’t really her type anyways. Follow her Tessauce! We also say goodbye to Ency!

Lastly, we all share our Crime and Rose of the episode!

Ep. 154 True Crime: The Murders of Brendan Mess, Erik Hacker-Weissman, and Raphael “Rafi” Teken Jan 20, 2022

Show notes

Last week’s episode of The Bachelor gave Megan MANY potential themes to explore in the true crime world, however, Megan decided to center her story around Ziwe, comedian, writer, and host of one of the week’s group dates. Ziwe is from Lawrence, Massachusetts, so Megan tells a story from nearby Waltham, Massachusetts.

This story is a wild ride from start to finish. This really gruesome triple murder from September 11, 2011, really doesn’t have any kind of lead until April 2013. And where that lead leads us, is simply… confusing and maybe leads us into a bigger conspiracy? We still have so many questions about this story, tell us what you think! (Story starts at: 6:55)

Ep. 152 Bach: Battle of the Blonde Ambition (Season 26, Week 2) Jan 11, 2022

Show notes

We are bringing back the tarot readings for every episode of Clayton’s season of The Bachelor. This week Megan asked the Final Rose Tarot cards what we can expect from this season of the Bachelor. Megan pulled the Here to Make Friends card, AKA the Three of Flutes. We thought this card was mocking us, but this card is all about surprising connections and bonding, which we definitely see.

This season we are changing things up a little bit. We are hitting the highlights of the episode. We are highlighting the women, the dates, roses and kisses. We’re also giving our “Crime and Rose” episode.

In this episode, we saw a birthday party group date hosted by Hilary Duff, a luxurious one-on-one date for Susie (Danielle can’t spell half of the thing they did), and an obstacle course group date hosted by writer and comedian Ziwe. We see the rise of two blonde villains and we hate it. Cassidy won’t help with the group project unless she gets paid, and Shanae, who gives herself a nickname we hate, outs another contestant’s disability and tries to embarrass her, but really, it’s just embarrassing for Shanae.

BIPOC Highlight this week Danielle was very disappointed with the lack of diversity shown on the screen. We see the second group date rose go to Sarah, and Melina had some good commentary during the date, but we weren’t shown the connection between him and those lovely ladies. With that being said, we did enjoy seeing a black woman host the group date. Comedian and writer, Ziwerekoru "Ziwe" Fumudoh was very entertaining on the group date and taught us about some of the new trendy red flags in dating.

Ep. 151 True Crime: The Murder of Mengqi Ji Jan 06, 2022

Show notes

We are getting ready for Clayton’s season of the Bachelor, and although we don’t know a ton about our newest lead, we do know that he’s from Missouri and went to college at the University of Missouri in Columbia. Megan focuses in on Columbia, Missouri this week and tells us about Mengqi Ji, who was a hard-working new mother when she was murdered in her home in 2019. We will also have real-time updates on the case next episode as well. (Story Starts at: 8:31)

Ep. 150 Bach: It’s Not the Vibe (Season 26, Week 1) Jan 04, 2022

Show notes

We are bringing back the tarot readings for every episode of Clayton’s season of The Bachelor. This week Megan asked the Final Rose Tarot cards what we can expect from this season of the Bachelor. Megan pulled the Opening Up card, AKA the Strength (VIII) in a traditional major arcana. This card is all about courage, vulnerability, and compassion.

This season we are changing things up a little bit. We are hitting the highlights of the episode. We are highlighting the women, the dates, roses and kisses. This week we started working on being able to tell the blondes apart and get to know the women. We’re also starting a new segment that we totally named after ourselves, the “Crime and Rose” of the episode, and we talk about our least favorite and most favorite moments.

This episode we saw a few intro packages, limo entrances, and a rose ceremony. Salley and Claire threw in a little bit of drama as well, Salley rejected Claycol before the show began, and Claire thought Claycol “was not the vibe” and went home before the rose ceremony.

We highlight BIPOC contestants because their love stories matter! This week we are highlighting Daria Rose! You know we love a lady lawyer. Daria has overcome a lot of adversity and is a bad bitch, we love her energy and wish we could have seen more of her on the show, but not with Claycol, we feel good about them not having a connection.
