46 - When Being WOKE Looks a Lot Like Elitism Mar 30, 2021
    Show notes

Are we really woke or awakened or pretending? Are we using it as a weapon to judge others? Believe me when I say that there are many arenas in this world where elitism shows up. And I've been there. I've been the one being judged and I have been the one doing the judging. Most of the time it comes from a good place, but when your ego becomes involved, you have to be careful.

In this episode, we take a look at what it means to be "woke" and how our newly found passion can come across as elitist to others. In true Be You Podcast fashion, I'm using myself as an example because, like I said, I've been judgmental and have used my awakened state as a weapon to condemn others. I know by listening to this episode, you will think of someone in your life. You might even think of yourself. But listen on to find out how you can spot the signs, acknowledge the good, and be the change.

Have you started that inner work on yourself? Do you feel like you've messed up too badly to ever make positive growth? I'm here to tell you that it is never too late to get started on loving yourself.

Today I share an experience that opened my eyes to what today's episode needed to be about. 44 - Why is She Always Late? - 3 Ways Chronically Late People are Self-Sabotaging Mar 23, 2021
    Show notes

Can you relate? I have a reputation of always being late. I don't like the feeling, but somehow I wind up late every time. Now, I'm better about this in the last year or so, but because I've discovered why I am chronically late. It is a form of self-sabotage.

We know it is rude and it doesn't land well for other people and while it may seem like a passive aggressive attack on the other person, in reality, we are doing this to ourselves. Even if you are not a chronically late person, listen to this quick episode on the topic. Odds are, you have someone in your life who is chronically late and you may look at things differently when you know why. Start off your week with something to chew on and we will dig deeper into this topic in another episode.

43 - Coming Home to Your True Self Mar 18, 2021
    Show notes

As I was contemplating this episode and deciding on the topic of discussion, it was given to me. We already know about triggers and our inner child and looking inward. We know about all of that. But why are we doing this? Why are we going through coaching and personal development? We don't need to be improved.

We talk a lot about excavating the true self here on the Be You Podcast. That's the real work we're doing. Because typical coaching is an attempt to improve the false self. That self isn't really us and we wind up on a hamster wheel. It's like putting whipped cream on shit and in the end, we've learned nothing about our true selves.

So in this episode, we're putting it all together. We're taking every experience, good and bad, and learning the lesson and coming home.

Sometimes our intuition tells us something we don't want to hear. Sometimes signs lead us to where we are meant to be and we don't want to listen. I know, because I am there. In a previous episode, I explained how signs were leading me to something that I never considered for myself. Today I dive deeper into that topic because I decided to go for it and I was absolutely terrified.

In today's episode, we get to talk about the reward of following your intuition. More specifically, we will talk about following your intuition when it leads you to doing something new and that completely tramples your ego. It's scary. It's uncomfortable. But when you follow your intuition down a specific path that you know nothing about, you will learn so much about yourself and grow into the goddess you are meant to be.

Today, I show you the good, the bad, and the ugly. I'm going through it right now and it is not easy. But I know that the end result and the reward waiting for me is all worth it.

41 - Ellie Shepley Montgomerie: Unlocking Power Through Desire Part 2 Mar 11, 2021
    Show notes

Welcome to Part 2 of Women on FIRE! I am so excited to have Ellie Shepley Montgomerie back on the Be You Podcast today for more on the topic of pleasure. In Part 1, we learned so much about Ellie and her journey to becoming an intimacy coach through vulnerability. In that episode, we opened a lot of doors to some possible topics to talk about today, but we ultimately decided that we would discuss the topic of pleasure today.

Ellie Shepley Montgomerie is a Pleasure and Intimacy Expert and Co-Founder of her company Desire on Fire. Through her retreats and programs she teaches women how to create confident intimacy and fulfilling relationships. She's personally trained with some of the top Intimacy and Sensuality teachers in the world. Together with her business partner Aimee Batuski, Ellie has created a remarkable sisterhood of women who allow their desires and pleasure to lead the way as they step into a whole new world of freedom, manifestation, and ease.

In today's episode, we talk about the trigger word for a lot of women - pleasure. There's so much to unpack here, but in today's episode we begin that conversation. What is pleasure? What does it look like? How can a self-pleasure practice change your life? You may be surprised by how powerful a woman's body can be.

    Show notes

You know at the Be You Podcast, we're laying it all out on the table. Getting uncomfortable is important and sometimes that means we talk about taboo topics. Today's guest is so amazing that this is just Part 1 of two episodes on pleasure and desire with Ellie Shepley Montgomerie.

Ellie Shepley Montgomerie is a Pleasure and Intimacy Expert and Co-Founder of her company Desire on Fire. Through her retreats and programs, she teaches women how to create confident intimacy and fulfilling relationships.

In today's episode, Ellie describes her journey to being an intimacy coach and how opening herself up to being vulnerable has completely changed her life. She explains how our culture and upbringing could be getting in the way of true alignment and how the connections we have with our body are crucial in understanding ourselves and what's getting in the way of true pleasure.

39 - Playing Roles and Losing Our Identity Mar 04, 2021
    Show notes

Oftentimes we take on a role and it becomes our identity. Moms, especially, do this all the time. Fill in the blank for yourself here: "What am I if I'm not a ___?" Well, I'm here to tell you that regardless of the roles you play in this life, you are so much more.

In today's episode of the Be You Podcast, we're discussing the difference between identity and toles. We take on roles that we're told to take on and sometimes we choose a role, but more often than not, we don't give ourselves permission to grow beyond those roles and put ourselves first. We get lost in those roles and our true selves are buried beneath them.

Remember that roles are not who you are deep down and that you are in more control than you realize.

    38 - What if I'm Wrong? Mar 02, 2021
    Show notes

As I've gone on this journey, I have gotten really uncomfortable. At this point, you know that I embrace that. But along the way, I've learned that one thing that can be extremely uncomfortable is considering that I might be wrong about something. It can be a hard pill to swallow, but think about it. There are so many things out there in this amazing world that we don't know. There are things I know that I don't know. I know I don't speak Chinese. But what about the things I don't know I don't know? That's where the magic is.

In this episode of the Be You Podcast, we ask ourselves the question, "What if I'm wrong?" By asking yourself this question for literally every topic in your life, you will be opened up to new possibilities and will learn a tremendous amount about yourself, others, and the world. If I had never asked myself that powerful question, I know I wouldn't be experiencing this journey and my life to its fullest potential. So listen on to find out how these four words can change how you look at life.

37 - Valeria Jaramillo: Why Women Settle and Shut Down Feb 25, 2021
    Show notes

Today I have the very highly sought after Love Coach Vale. She is young but so very wise and she is getting results with her clients. This interview is so impactful for all relationships and I am so excited to have Valeria Jaramillo on the Be You Podcast.

Valeria is a successful entrepreneur who stepped into her power at the very young age of 26. She's a successful Love Coach who helps women of all ages to find love. And she knows that in order for them to do this they have to first find love within themselves. She helped women to break through the barriers of codependency, let go of painful experiences from their past, and open up to a whole new way of living. Valeria's story is no fairy tale. She came from a very poor family in Columbia. None of the women in her family had any education past high school. None of them had healed from their past wounds and traumas. None of them understood finances or even discussed finances. And none of them had a healthy relationship with themselves or with others. Despite having these circumstances, Valeria graduated from college with honors and began her own healing journey. She has now become a very successful businesswoman. As a Love Coach, she is determined to spread her wisdom and be a light of hope for other women. She wants all women to see that no matter how you started, no matter what cards you were dealt, you can heal, change, and love.
