#152 The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) Mar 29, 2024

Show notes

Did this movie deserve the beating it got from critics and audiences? The Lost World:Jurassic Park followed up one of the most beloved movies of all time, and it split audiences and critics down the middle. Jeff Goldblum was the only star that returned, and adding in Julianne Moore and Vince Vaughn was a big swing. We walk through this movie scene by scene, as always, roasting the bad and trying to find what was done well before giving our final verdict on Steven Spielberg's The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Make sure to let us know what you thought!

#151 Dragonheart (1996) Mar 22, 2024

Show notes

Knights of the Old Code! It is time to travel back to 1996 and revisit Dragonheart again to see if it still holds up. This is one of those movies that you either saw as a kid and loved it with all your heart, or you didn't see it until later and maybe it didn't hit quite as hard. How does it hold up 28 years down the line? Featuring Dennis Quaid and his disappearing accent, along with Sean Connery giving his all as the voice of Draco, this one had audiences and critics split. Let us know what you think about Dragonheart!

#150 Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) Mar 15, 2024

Show notes

You either love this movie and have been defending it for the last 8 years, or you checked out back in 2016 as soon as you heard the word, MARTHA!! Either way, people have strong opinions on Batman vs. Superman and our hosts are no different. This film has been hotly debated among our group since before we even had a podcast, which is why it made perfect sense to save this one for one of our big episodes, number 150! The gloves are off and we are going to go through this movie and defend it or destroy it, so no matter what side you're on, you'll be represented here.

#149 Dragon Wars (2007) Mar 08, 2024

Show notes

Ratings wise this may be the 7th lowest film we've covered, but I'd rather watch almost anything else than this again. Dragon Wars is one of the worst movies ever made, and yet at the time of release was one of the most anticipated Korean films ever to come out. It somehow cleaned up at the international box office, and now it lands in our laps on Bad Movies Rule. Hopefully, you didn't watch it and you just listen to us nuke this thing from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

#147 Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (1999) Feb 23, 2024

Show notes

While not the first ever made, chronologically first in the saga, and if we had started here we may never have received 8 other sequels. For some that's a good thing, for others, it would be a tragedy. The prequels have been equally praised by the younger generation and destroyed by the older ones, but at its heart is it actually a terrible movie? We go through it scene by scene to see if it deserves the title or not. Not a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, but right here and now.

#146 Laserblast (1978) Feb 16, 2024

Show notes

This is one of those classic bad movies that's been skewered by the best (MST3K), and it's time that we had our crack at it! The patrons voted for this one and so we're off to the desert to follow Billy as he stumbles around blowing up everything he can with his arm cannon while avoiding bullies and attacks from giant shell-less turtles! Explosions galore, very few answers, and even a couple of shots at Star Wars, it's Laserblast!
