Bad Movies Rule!

Latest Episodes:

#145 Silent Rage (1982) Feb 09, 2024

Show notes

Silent Rage is a cross between your standard Chuck Norris beat'em up and a slasher movie, starring one of the inmates from Shawshank Redemption. Chuck Norris finds himself in a full-blown horror movie here, so it's time for BMR to go through this movie scene by scene and see if Chuck pulls it off, or if this one deserves to stay dead and buried!

#144 Double Dragon (1994) Feb 02, 2024

Show notes

One of the original side-scrolling beat'em ups of the 1980s was turned into a movie, so you can probably guess how that turned out. Mark Dacascos and Scott Wolf star as Jimmy and Billy and they (kind of) kick their way through the gangs of a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles. You've got rampaging mutants that look like part of the male anatomy, Alyssa Milano as a gang leader, and renegade mailmen, but is it a bad movie that rules or just straight-up bad? Double Dragon is on the block!

Mailbag #39 - Arnold Sings Enter Sandman Jan 30, 2024

Show notes

On this mailbag we debate Batman vs. TMNT, give love to all the truckers out there on the roads, draft a BMR football team and field more hate for Bob, but it's the call that comes in from Arnold singing the hits of yesterday that inspires one of our best performances ever.

#143 Black Moon Rising (1986) Jan 26, 2024

Show notes

Tommy Lee Jones has 72 hours to steal back a rocket car, and he wastes 98% of that time rolling around with Linda Hamilton. Does this heist movie deserve a second look from audiences, who have it rated at a 29% audience score? Or does this rocket car need to drive off a cliff never to show its face again? Nicole, Clint, James, and Bob dive into a scene-by-scene analysis (roast) and take through the entire thing!

#142 Runaway (1984) Jan 19, 2024

Show notes

In an alternate future 1984, Tom Selleck is a beat cop chasing down runaway robots. Gene Simmons (yeah, the dude from KISS) is wreaking havoc with killer robo-spider, and only Tom Selleck and his bulletproof mustache can stop him. Featuring a fantastic performance by Cynthia Rhodes as Tom's partner, Karen Thompson. Does this Michael Crichton-directed thriller pass muster, or is it just another cheesy 80's sci-fi flick?

Mailbag #38 - Say Hi to Your Mother For Me, Okay? Jan 16, 2024

Show notes

Bob, Nicole, and Clint join James for another mailbag answering your emails and phone calls as we touch on everything from a little girl's love of Ernest, a call from a Star Wars character, Reindeer Girls, Smart Sharks, and Bob's new outlook on child actors.

#141 Jaws 2 (1978) Jan 12, 2024

Show notes

Jaws 2 has been largely rejected by audiences as a cash grab at worst or a low-rent retread of the original at best. The audience's scores are low, but does Jaws 2 deserve a second look? Bob, Ryan, Pat, and James go scene by scene through the sequel to one of the biggest blockbusters of all time to see if it's really a bad movie that rules! Plus a shark eats a helicopter and that's cool, no matter where you're from!

#140 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze (1991) Jan 05, 2024

Show notes

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Secret of the Ooze has been blasted by critics, and while it was beloved by children back in the 90s, what do those kids think now? Michelangelo, Leonardo, Raphael, and Donatello take on the Shredder (or spoiler alert: they don't) and try to save New York one more time, while also learning where they came from! Let's imagine a Ninja Turtle movie where they never use their weapons, but are sticklers for observing the traditional pre-fight donut.

#139 Delta Force 2: The Columbian Connection (1990) Dec 29, 2023

Show notes

Clint, Mel, James, and Bob are back with Chuck Norris as he face-kicks his way through South America taking on the cartel. Billy Drago plays the perfect early 90s slimeball cocaine mogul as he sends his endless supply of henchmen to take on Chuck before he seizes his mountains of coke. The movie is a complete departure from Delta Force 1 which tried to say something important, it failed, but at least it tried. What do you think of Delta Force 2? Let us know in the comment section below.
