    Yoga Strong

To be “Yoga Strong” is to pay attention to not only your body, but how you navigate being human. While combining strength and grace creates a powerful flow-based yoga practice, it is the practice of paying attention in the same ways off-the-mat that can be equally impactful.

This podcast is a guide for yoga teachers, practitioners and people trying to craft a life they’re proud AF about. This is about owning your voice. This is about curiosity, bravery, sensuality, and building a home in yourself.

053 - Meditation to Stay Open and Soft Nov 26, 2020
    Show notes

Staying open to give and receive requires us to release tension in our body. Relax your forehead. Relax the space between your eyebrows. Feel the way it softens your face and neck. Feel how that affects the way you respond to high stress situations when you keep your face soft.

    052 - Breath & Exposure with Kimmy Moss Nov 24, 2020
    Show notes

Do you hate cold water? Love it? Can you feel a difference when you breathe fast and breathe slow? When we breathe slow we activate our parasympathetic nervous system that tells our brain we are safe. When we breathe quickly, we activate our sympathetic nervous system that tells our body to fight or flight.
In this episode, Kimmy Moss, a breath and exposure coach, shares some reasons this is a good practice and how to begin the practice of cold exposure and breath practice in your own home. This is an activity that combines both physical and mental exercise into one experience.

    051 - Sanskrit or English? Nov 19, 2020
    Show notes

What barriers are there for people to begin practicing yoga? Is one of them learning a whole new language? Even if it's poses in English names, that's still a new language. What and why do we title yoga classes like we do? Does calling a class "yoga for spine mobility" instead of "Vinyasa" give more clarity to people? Especially new people? Is Sanskrit bad to use? Namaste? I share some of my ideas and would love to hear yours.

    050 - What Women Want: Let's Talk About Sex with Taylor-leigh Nov 17, 2020
    Show notes

We begin this one talking about the song WAP. Yep. This is a full on party! Taylor and I speak directly from our female-identifying experiences. What do women want to give to their partners? How does surrender come to play? What about the word honor? What do we want? Do we get turned on by the end again?? Do you??
This episode is part of an ongoing series called "Let's Talk about Sex" with my friend Taylor. Our goal is to normalize conversations like this to encourage others to do the same. We believe it will create stronger and more enjoyable relationships with ourselves and partners if more people are talking about sex.

045 - Do You Pause Between People? Oct 29, 2020
    Show notes

It is easy to jump from one task or activity to the next, to message one person, have a meeting with another, then call a friend. What kind of intention do we bring to these interactions? If we took a moment after each to reflect, writing just ONE sentence, what would we notice?

In this episode, I'm sharing my experience this past weekend when I thought this, how it has already changed how I show up with my kids, and an invitation for you to pause between people with me.

This is the kind of paying attention that makes a difference in our lives.
