Episode 231: Healthy Food Doesn’t Give You Permission To Eat It All Jul 13, 2021

Healthy Food Doesn't Mean Eat as Much as You Want

You’ve heard about my mind-reading ability, right?
My uncanny skill of knowing just what you are thinking?
    Well, I’ve done it again.

I happen to know that at some point, you probably have thought that you could eat as much food as you want as long as it’s ‘healthy’.

    Am I right?
Have you ever complained about how you’re eating ‘so good’ and you’re not losing weight?

    I know, I know…. I’ve been there.
    I’ve watched my calories.
    I’ve watched my carbs.
I’ve watched my sugar and my flour.
And I’ve used so many other ways of judging food as good or bad.

And those tricks didn’t give me weight loss.

I was still eating too much food.
I was still eating when I was upset, instead of hungry.

So, are you kidding yourself if you think ‘healthy’ foods = weight loss?
And you can eat as much of them as you want?
Listen to this episode and find out whether I give you a hall pass to eat as much as you want if a food is a healthy food.

Episode 229: How Can Weight Loss Be Easier? Jun 29, 2021

How Can Weight Loss be Easier

    Hello my friend!
Have you ever asked yourself why losing weight is so hard?
And why can’t it be easier?

Questions like these usually lead us to search for quick solutions…solutions like a 5-day diet, or a list of ‘do and don’t’ foods.

Shortcuts usually don’t work long term.
But there are real ways to make weight loss easier.

Here are some of the things we will uncover in this coaching session today that could make weight loss easier for you:

    • Learning how to care for yourself without food as an emotional blankie.
    • Learning how natural eaters eat, not how good dieters eat.
    • Learning how your mind works: what creates your moods and how to not let them lead you to overeating.
    • Making very clear decisions on exactly what needs to change for you.
    • Having a plan to help that change happen.
    • Making choices that feel good in the moment AND in the long-term picture of your life.
    • Getting support when your resolve falters.
    • Learning to see yourself as a whole, deserving, capable person.
    • Having compassion for yourself as you do the best you can with what you know.
    • Learning to fall down and get right back up.
    • Learning to benefit from your failures.
    • Being open to new concepts from brain science, coaching and psychology.
    • Wanting to change from the inside to the outside.

If you are listening to this today, I hope you join me in the Freedom Group where real change takes place. We close at midnight tonight, 6/29/21.

Episode 228: Melissa Used to Believe that if She was Thinner She’d Be Happier Jun 22, 2021
    Show notes

    Are you a perfectionist?
If you think you need to be a certain weight to be acceptable, I hope you tune in to today’s coaching session.

What happens when you grow up feeling like you are never ‘good enough’?
If you’re like most of the women I work with, you develop coping strategies.
And many of these coping strategies involve eating.

    Yup, eating to feel better.
Eating because you think you are not good enough.
Eating because you just can’t handle that feeling of not being enough.

This is a common way of thinking. And it’s not really helpful.
We all tend to try to be better, do better, and many of us think the way to do that is to lose weight.
Be better = be thinner. So you go into the world of dieting.
    And what happens then?
    If the diets don’t work?
Then you assume it must be you, right?

Listen to Melissa. She was a Freedom Group member who graduated to the highest honor and became a mentor to other members.
She did so well on her own journey that she is now a member of our beloved Freedom Group Team, helping other women on their own journeys.

Melissa is smart and has great insight. To the world she was living a successful life. But inside she was struggling.
And now the inside matches her beautiful outside.

Join me and Melissa as we share her journey, her struggles and her triumph.

    Then join the Freedom Group!

Episode 227: Why Your Weight Loss ‘Aha’ Moments Don’t Lead to Weight Loss Jun 15, 2021
    Show notes

    Aha Moment, Insight

This used to happen to me all the time.
I was trying to lose weight and not struggle with food.
So I’d read the latest book and have a major ‘aha’ moment.

I’d get some big insight and get really, really excited.
    Wow!
    This is it!
I can see exactly what the solution is and why I’ve been struggling!
I now know what to do and starting tomorrow, my problem will be gone.

I’d go to bed excited and confident that I finally figured out what to do.
I couldn’t wait to wake up the next day and get started.

Boy, was I ever surprised to find that the next day was just another repeat of all the other days.
    Make a plan.
Try to eat in a new way.
Fail, give up, and beat myself up.

    I was so disappointed.
I really thought this was it.
    I had the insight.
    I had the understanding.
    So why couldn’t I change?

This coaching session will show you what I learned the hard way.
The insight, the ‘aha’ moment is great and feels motivating.
But you need to know what to do after you get that lightning bolt of insight.
And that is what I will teach you today.

Episode 226: Why It’s So Hard To Stop Eating Jun 08, 2021
    Show notes

Why It's So Hard to Stop Eating

    You set an eating goal.
You decide ahead of time what you will eat.
    When you will eat.
    And when you will stop.
But when the times comes, the stopping part doesn’t happen.
It happens, but often not until the food you were eating is gone.
And by the time the food is gone, you are overly full. You ate more than you needed.
So why is it so darn hard to stop eating once you’ve started?

    Sometimes it’s your biology.
You are wired to get as much of the good stuff as possible.
Sometimes you wait to be hungry to start eating, and then zone out and again, keep eating until your plate is clean. You simply stop paying attention to your hunger.
And sometimes it’s your faulty thinking.
If you’ve ever thought these things, this is what you need to work on.

    I’ll start tomorrow.

    Just this once.

I don’t want to waste food.

And on and on and on.

So join me in this coaching session where we uncover the three big reasons it’s so hard to stop eating even when your body has had enough.
This is a solvable problem. Let’s do this!

Episode 224: Getting and Staying Motivated May 25, 2021
    Show notes

    Getting Motivated

I’ll bet you think I’m a good motivator.
Someone who can pump you up and get you excited to move toward your goals.

The fact is, people can inspire you.
People can help you light that initial flame to help you get started.
But for the long haul, to change your weight, your eating and how you think, being motivated is really something you need to create for yourself.

    It’s truly an inside job.

When you need to be motivated to get yourself to do certain things, you start by thinking about how you will feel once you reach your goals.

That helps you know WHY you are doing what you’re doing. And that is what allows you be pulled toward your goals instead of pushing yourself toward them.

    SO much easier!

This is what we’ll work on in this coaching session today.
    How to get motivation.
    Why you need it.
What it feels like when your motivation starts to fade.
What happens when you are NOT motivated?
And, how to keep your motivation fresh.

Join me as I teach you to become your own best cheerleader, who always has your best interests at heart, and will always have your back.

Episode 223: Stop Practicing Being Overweight May 18, 2021
    Show notes

    Being Overweight

You are here because you want to lose weight, end all the drama around eating, or maybe both.

But in pursuing these goals, what are you likely to do?
If you’re like most of the women I’ve had the honor of working with, you do what all the other overweight women do.

You practice being overweight and seeking a magical solution.
Instead, you should be practicing what natural eaters do…not what overweight women do.

I know this is surely not your intention.
You want to lose the weight AND the whole problem.
But if you are approaching it like a dieter, then you are creating more of what you don’t want:

    • The thoughts of overweight women
    • The feelings of overweight women
    • The actions of overweight women

And…you are stuck in the struggle.

I know you don’t do this on purpose.
I know that creating more extra weight is the opposite of what you want.
So, let’s look at this today.

If you want something different than what you have, you need to stop trying to do what overweight women do, and start doing what natural eaters do.

    Are you in?
Let’s start changing, one thought at a time.
This is weight loss for the thinking woman.
    And that is you!
