    I’m Lance Essihos, and I sit down with athletes, bestselling authors, doctors, entrepreneurs, spiritual teachers, and everyday warriors to have real conversations about adversity — the kind that strips away the surface and forces us to face who we really are.

    We go deep into the mindset shifts, emotional breakthroughs, and practical tools that helped them rebuild. Not just to survive, but to come back stronger, clearer, and more aligned.

    104. L.T. Bourne - A Mentorship on Becoming an Inspiration to Others Sep 30, 2019
    Show notes

    In this episode, Lance and L.T. Bourne talked about the importance of having a father figure in our lives and how big the change was when he received a mentorship from his best friend’s father. L.T also talked about mentoring others and helping them take shape and become better persons.

    L.T. “Leo” Bourne, an author, speaker and mentor, grew up in a small island of South Caicos. He discovered in his early 20s his gift of inspiration and leadership. He founded Open Thought, a non-profit organization created for youth development in the Turks and Caicos Islands, to give the youth a voice and an outlet to express themselves. L.T. believed creating Open Thought would inspire youth to overcome any circumstances they are facing by creating a platform that displays like-minded individuals who have risen above similar circumstance. It is a vision he carries in his heart to this very day as he is still building the outlet. Apart from his work with Open Thought, L.T. is a writer, filmmaker, speaker, and philanthropist.

    He is passionate about problem-solving, collaboration and engaging young people in fighting the common threats of their environment such as violence, poverty, and abuse. L.T. shares his vision of a united community that uses love, open-thinking, and commitment to make a difference. Weaving a tapestry of his lifetime of experience, L.T. plans to inspire youth with his personal story and lessons learned about personal development, leadership, and the power of using open-thinking to live a more fulfilling life.

    103. Kayla Adams - The Importance of Building a Foundation to Support Your Dreams Sep 27, 2019

    In this episode, Lance and Kayla Adams shared the struggles in reaching personal goals and of everyday life situations. Kayla shared the perfect mindset and also gave tips on how to achieve the desired results. Kayla also talked about the benefits of making daily journals and how it improved her daily life.

    Kayla Adams was born and raised in a small town outside Vancouver BC, Kayla grew up fascinated with storytelling. Her weekends were spent alongside her best friend creating and shooting movies with her 8mm camcorder. As Kayla grew up, she quickly realized she could not ignore her curiosity for acting. This curiosity led her to Vancouver Film School where her first formal training began.

    Since moving to Los Angeles, Kayla has dedicated her life to the arts and landed her first lead role in the feature film "HEX" shot on the outskirts of Los Angeles. Since then, she's worked alongside Brad Pitt and Donald Sutherland in the upcoming feature film "AD ASTRA," filming "ROGUE WARFARE" summer of 2018, and written and starred in the short film “BOUND" which has been accepted into multiple Film Festivals and garnered Kayla a nomination for Best Actress.

    Destined to expand, ask deeper questions and constantly challenge herself, Kayla’s future in the arts will undoubtedly be meaningful and magical!

    In this episode, Lance and Matt Hamilton talked about how nothing is beneath you even when you feel that you are already successful.

    Matt Hamilton was born and raised in Victoria, BC and is currently residing in Vancouver, BC.He graduated from Vancouver Film School for Writing for Film and Television and has his B.F.A. in Writing from the University of Victoria. He received numerous awards such as 2019 Leo Award Winner for Best Male performance in The Actress Diaries, and 2018 Best Male Performance nominee at the International Academy of Web Television, to name a few. His screenwriting has places in numerous contests and festivals including Praxis Fellowship, LA International Screenplay contest and many more.

    101. Lyn Delmastro-Thomson - How to Pursue a Healthier You Sep 23, 2019

    In this episode, Lance and Lyn talked about how self-awareness, spiritual cleansing, and mastering your own body from the inside out can help heal your ailments, find your own balance, and achieve one’s inner peace.

    Lyn has a master’s degree in somatic psychology and is pursuing training in biofeedback and therapeutic yoga. In 2004, she was misdiagnosed with leukemia and had faced a great deal of fear and overwhelming depression. Through therapeutic yoga, and biofeedback sessions she overcame these adversities, and is now a mentor and an advocate of this practice.

    Erin is the founder of Raw Beauty, a non-profit organization promoting the mental and physical health of girls and young women. She was greatly influenced by the media’s limited portrayal of beauty and the value that it held. Throughout her recovery she was forced to dig deep and rebuild a positive relationship with herself so that she would be able to accomplish her biggest goals.
