Did Keffe D Just Refuse To Apologize For Tupac?! Aug 25, 2026
    Show notes

In a 2017 recording played for the jury on Day 6 of the Tupac Shakur murder trial, Duane "Keffe D" Davis described the shooting β€” the gun, his nephew, the Cadillac, Combs. Then the interviewer asked him a question that exposed the crack in his defense.

The recording from the Death Row Chronicles production captured Davis discussing his relationship with Sean Combs, claiming Combs wanted Suge Knight dealt with and then stopped returning calls after the shooting. Davis said Combs was trying to "wash his hands" of them. The defense tried to block the recording over references to other crimes. The judge allowed it β€” the fiction defense weakens each time the jury hears another version of Davis telling the story he now claims was invented for money.

Filmmaker Michael Dorsey took the stand as the prosecution's witness, testifying about his phone recording of the interview and his decision to contact Las Vegas police after the documentary aired. His recording was potentially broader than the official production version. Combs has denied involvement and has never been charged.

Lindsay Clancy Trial: Psychiatrist Details 11 Hours of Interviews and the Voice She Heard Pt 1 Aug 25, 2026
    Show notes

Eleven hours. That's how long forensic psychiatrist Dr. Gregory Saathoff, who's worked with the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit, spent interviewing Lindsay Clancy over Zoom across May and June 2026 β€” and today he told a Plymouth Superior Court jury what came out of it. Clancy, 34, of Duxbury, Massachusetts, is accused of strangling her three children β€” Cora (5), Dawson (3), and Callan (7 months) β€” with exercise resistance bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023. She faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation, has pleaded not guilty, and her attorney Kevin Reddington is arguing she was in the grip of severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication.

Saathoff isn't a stranger to this specific horror β€” he testified he's diagnosed and treated five to seven women in the prison system who killed their children, and co-authored a 1980s paper on postpartum psychosis with four colleagues. He explained to jurors that psychosis itself isn't a disease but a symptom, and distinguished Serious Mental Illness like schizophrenia and bipolar I from the broader Any Mental Illness category that covers things like anxiety disorder and PTSD.

Then came the substance: Saathoff testified Clancy described an external voice that started while she was making the kids' dinner, right after a call with Patrick Clancy β€” telling her this was her last chance, that she had to kill the children and then herself. The voice, he said, stopped after she strangled Callan, her youngest β€” though it had already gone silent before her own suicide attempt. He called it unusual that this was the first time she'd ever heard it. He also noted inconsistencies between Clancy's account and collateral witness statements, pointing specifically to the Three V takeout order and Clancy allegedly asking her husband to run an errand to a particular drugstore.

Did Patrick Clancy Ignore The One Warning That Mattered Aug 25, 2026
    Show notes

If Lindsay Clancy killed someone because of mental illness, she'd be under the jail like anyone else. That's one comment. She should be in a hospital, not a prison. That's the reply. Both are closer to right than most of the thread, and this is what each verdict actually does.

Guilty of first-degree murder in Massachusetts carries mandatory life without parole. Not criminally responsible means commitment to a state psychiatric facility with periodic court reviews on whether she could ever be released. Lindsay has been held at Tewksbury State Hospital since May 2023, so the hospital outcome is already her daily life. The insanity defense is open to every Massachusetts defendant, juries rarely accept it, and the burden here sits on the prosecution to disprove it beyond a reasonable doubt. Either way she's confined. The jury decides where, and whether the door ever opens.

The segment's spine is a line from Lindsay's nurse practitioner. Rebecca Jollotta testified she raised bipolar disorder with Patrick and Lindsay in the weeks before the killings, and Patrick answered, "My wife is not bipolar." Defense psychologist Paul Zeizel and Dr. Phillip Resnick later diagnosed bipolar disorder. So did Dr. Kirk Heilbrun, testifying for the prosecution.

The rest of the segment: what Patrick did to get her help in December 2022, dated by testimony. His move to Manhattan in May 2023 and the timeline to his remarriage. The profiler commenters call FBI, who never was, and the difference between psychopathy and psychosis. And the thirteen medications, which are documented in his own lawsuit.

Five comments about Patrick Clancy and the system around his wife, each one checked against the record. The verdict belongs to the jury. The consequences are written into the law, and I read them out.

Nolan Wells' DA Left One Word Out of Her Statement Aug 25, 2026
    Show notes

The word is "phone." Jackson County DA Angel Myers McIlrath has told the public a grand jury will get everything her office gathered in the Nolan Wells case, and she hasn't said that word since the family put the device on a four-day window. Jennifer Coffindaffer, a 25-year FBI veteran, joins Tony Brueski on the evidence nobody has opened.

Everything loud about this case rests on it. Nolan's mother says his July 4 texts and pictures had been wiped when she got the phone from his friends. The friends insist no one touched it. An extraction would expose deletions, timestamps, and any login around the hours he went missing. Seven weeks on, the phone sits with the family and no examiner has touched it.

A joint exam at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College lab was agreed July 15 and never scheduled. A 48-hour deadline from the DA followed on August 12, with the parents away. The family countered on August 17 with August 18 through 21. No exam has been announced.

Coffindaffer's 25 years in the Bureau aim the questions at the system. The sheriff announced no foul play on day two, ahead of any autopsy, and never requested the phone. A congressional caucus, the NAACP, and Al Sharpton all moved before a single test was run. The three friends gave the FBI their own devices without being asked twice.

The family's subpoenas to Snapchat, Meta, TikTok, WhatsApp, and Life360 seek login and IP histories. Those logs may answer the wipe question before the phone does.

No one has been arrested. The friends deny erasing anything. The state has its autopsy and its toxicology. The last piece is the one nobody will pick up.

Lindsay Clancy's Prosecution Witness Gave the Jury a Motive They Can't Unhear Aug 25, 2026
    Show notes

Two prosecution rebuttal experts took the stand in Lindsay Clancy's murder trial and agreed on one thing: she wasn't psychotic. They disagreed on nearly everything else, including her diagnosis.

Forensic psychologist Kirk Heilbrun scored Clancy's account of hearing a commanding male voice against clinical benchmarks and found three indicators pointing toward fabrication. No accompanying delusions. No attempt to stop it. And an auditory experience that appeared for eighteen minutes during the killings and was never reported before or after. Approximately 88 percent of genuine command hallucinations come with delusions. Clancy reported none.

Heilbrun's theory for why she killed Cora, Dawson, and Callan landed harder than any clinical finding. He called it "suicide combined with altruistic filicide" β€” a mother who planned to end her own life and took her children with her because she was convinced they would suffer without her. When Patrick asked what happened, she didn't mention a voice. She said she tried to kill herself.

The day ended early after the prosecution's own witness raised Clancy's Catholic upbringing and asked her about mortal sin β€” the second time in eight days faith entered the trial through the prosecution's side. Judge Sullivan denied a defense mistrial motion but sent the jury home. Closing arguments are expected Wednesday.

Lindsay Clancy Trial: Forensic Psychologist Says No Signs of Psychosis Were Ever Reported Aug 25, 2026
    Show notes

The insanity defense in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial took another hit β€” or held its ground, depending on who you ask β€” as forensic psychologist Dr. Kirk Heilbrun returned to the stand as a prosecution rebuttal witness. Clancy, 34, of Duxbury, Massachusetts, is accused of strangling her three children β€” 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 7-month-old Callan β€” with exercise resistance bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023. She faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation, has pleaded not guilty, and is being defended by attorney Kevin Reddington on grounds of severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication.

Reddington resumed his cross-examination after a morning recess, still pressing Heilbrun on why he's never written specifically about postpartum psychosis, and running through a symptom list that Heilbrun agreed matched postpartum depression β€” all of it symptoms Clancy had reported. Heilbrun clarified on redirect that the same symptoms also apply to major depressive disorder, general depression, and bipolar II, and said he'd received more information on this case than any other in his career. He also drew a distinction that mattered: Clancy wasn't thought broadcasting, she believed her own vivid, unwanted thoughts were somehow heard by others. Then came the part prosecutors clearly wanted on record β€” Clancy never disclosed to any provider that she wanted to harm her children, repeatedly denied suicidal ideation, and had no observed or reported psychotic symptoms. On re-cross, Heilbrun testified there was no evidence she lied, faked, or malingered any of her reported mental health issues or suicidal thoughts.

Prosecutors are expected to argue Clancy understood the nature of her actions despite the defense's mental-health claims. After the killings, Clancy allegedly attempted to take her own life by jumping from a second-story window, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. Her husband, Patrick Clancy, was out of the home running errands at the time and has since relocated to Manhattan. The trial, underway in Plymouth Superior Court, is expected to last several weeks.

Lindsay Clancy Trial: Defense Exposes Gaps in Prosecution Psychologist's RΓ©sumΓ© Aug 25, 2026
    Show notes

Cross-examination turned into a credibility audit in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial this week. Clancy, 34, of Duxbury, Massachusetts, faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation in the deaths of her children β€” Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 7 months β€” allegedly strangled with exercise resistance bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023. She's pleaded not guilty, and defense attorney Kevin Reddington is arguing insanity: severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication.

Reddington took his shot at Dr. Kirk Heilbrun, the prosecution's forensic psychologist, and didn't waste time. First point: the evaluation happened about three years after the killings β€” and Heilbrun himself agreed that sooner is better for assessing someone's mental state after an offense. Second point: Heilbrun's direct experience treating mothers who killed their children came from roughly 44 years ago, four or five patients total. Not exactly current caseload material.

Then Reddington opened the CV β€” about 70 pages of it β€” and read the gaps into the record. Plenty on juveniles, on prisoners reintegrating into society, on sexual abuse. Nothing on pregnancy. Nothing on postpartum depression or psychosis. Heilbrun confirmed he's coached both prosecution and defense on how to present expert testimony, but Reddington made the point that his actual career has run mostly through prosecutors and corrections. Heilbrun also testified he never met co-evaluator Avram Mack in person until they crossed paths at Tewksbury Hospital, and that his total contact with Clancy amounted to 10.5 hours spread across three days.

Afterward, Clancy allegedly attempted suicide by jumping from a second-story window and is now paralyzed from the waist down. Husband Patrick Clancy, out running errands that day, has since relocated to Manhattan.

Lindsay Clancy Trial: Mistrial Motion Denied, Then the Real Testimony Started Aug 25, 2026
    Show notes

There was a near-derailment at the end of testimony Monday. In the Lindsay Clancy murder trial at Plymouth Superior Court, defense attorney Kevin Reddington moved for a mistrial Monday after the concept of "mortal sin" surfaced for the second time from the prosecution's side. Judge William Sullivan denied it β€” but told jurors to disregard any comments about sin or religiosity, and made clear the prosecution needed to rein in its own witness before he got back on the stand.

That witness was Dr. Kirk Heilbrun, a forensic psychologist testifying for the prosecution's rebuttal. Clancy, 34, of Duxbury, Massachusetts, is charged with three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation in the deaths of her children β€” 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 7-month-old Callan β€” allegedly strangled with exercise resistance bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023. She's pleaded not guilty, and Reddington is arguing insanity: severe postpartum psychosis compounded by psychiatric overmedication.

Heilbrun didn't dispute that Clancy has bipolar II. What he disputed was the psychosis framing. His read: this was a serious suicide attempt paired with altruistic filicide, and peritraumatic dissociation β€” the trauma response during the act itself β€” isn't psychosis. He testified she understood the legality of her actions and could have conformed her conduct to the law, which in a courtroom is the whole ballgame for criminal responsibility. He called her calling her husband back mid-event unusual, but not evidence of self-interest β€” evidence of a mother already grieving.

Clancy allegedly attempted suicide afterward by jumping from a second-story window and is now paralyzed from the waist down. Husband Patrick Clancy was running errands at the time and has since relocated to Manhattan.

Lindsay Clancy Said This to the Doctor Sent to Doubt Her Aug 25, 2026
    Show notes

Prosecutors in the Lindsay Clancy trial called Dr. Avram Mack to tell the jury she was responsible. He did. He also told them she described a laughing male voice, cried during his interview, and said she doesn't want to be alive. Jennifer Coffindaffer, a 25-year FBI veteran, joins Tony Brueski for the credibility fight that now defines this case.

The guilt camp has moved off the evidence and onto the witnesses, and Tony takes the attacks in order. Resnick, 88, examined her at four months; Mack got his one interview in April 2026. The rules kept the Commonwealth's experts out until the insanity defense was filed, but the jury still heard who got there first.

The chaplain, Sheila Cavanaugh, isn't a clinician, and her notes don't mention the voice. She testified Clancy described it in the first week of January 2023 hospitalization, off a breathing tube, and that she's visited about two hundred times. The malpractice lawsuit the voice was supposedly invented for was filed in January 2026.

Courtroom face-reading meets Dr. Paul Zeizel's roughly sixty meetings and Mack's own account of her tears. The bipolar denial meets two examining doctors who diagnosed it and the clinical reality that sick people deny being sick.

The family blame meets December 2022, when Clancy told them about harm thoughts and they got her admitted to McLean Hospital. McLean's psychiatrist saw no safety concerns and sent her home. The children died nineteen days later. Her providers had the harm thoughts in their records too.

Clancy has entered a not guilty plea and argues she lacked criminal responsibility; prosecutors allege premeditation and a staged suicide attempt. She can't be a mastermind and an obvious danger at the same time. The jury gets to pick.

What Lindsay Clancy Told Her Doctor One Day Before Aug 25, 2026
    Show notes

On January 23, 2023, Lindsay Clancy told her psychiatrist she felt numb, had no motivation, and was forcing herself out of bed. She denied any thoughts of hurting anyone. The next day she killed Cora, Dawson, and Callan. That visit is the hinge of the Lindsay Clancy trial, and ex-FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer argues with Tony Brueski that it proves she was responsible.

Tony argues the opposite: a woman in treatment the day before, cleared by a hospital nineteen days before, calling suicide hotlines a month before, is not a woman hiding her illness. The defense rested on August 21, 2026, with Dr. Phillip Resnick, who testified she was psychotic and following a command voice. He's the psychiatrist whose testimony helped acquit Andrea Yates.

The conversation runs the guilt camp's claims through the testimony. Planning: Yates planned and was acquitted. Sociopath: the Commonwealth's own testing showed no faking and a pattern of downplaying symptoms, which is backwards for a faker. Staged jump: neck wound, cut wrists, a second-story fall, permanent paralysis, and an ongoing suicide watch at Tewksbury Hospital.

Then the rebuttal. Dr. Avram Mack, called by prosecutors, met Clancy in April 2026 and testified she understood the wrongfulness of what she did. Mack also told the jury she said "go to God" to the children. A chaplain testified that on January 31, 2023, the first thing Clancy said to her was that she was glad her children were safe. Resnick said she told him her death would've put the children in a terrible spot.

Clancy denies three murder counts on the ground that she wasn't criminally responsible. The jury has heard both sides' doctors. It hasn't heard closings yet.
