A Mystery in Miami Part 1 Jun 01, 2023

Show notes

Inna Budnytska was living temporarily in a Miami hotel when, on February 21, 2005, she was found dumped on the side of the road, viciously beaten, raped, and left for dead. The investigation into her attack quickly hit a dead end when no one could figure out how she left the hotel in the first place. She was seen on camera going up to her room, and then never seen on camera again. The case went cold, until Inna filed a lawsuit against the hotel, and the hotel hired private investigator Ken Brennan to look into the matter. And there was nothing Brennan loved more than a good mystery.

The Burke and Hare Murders Apr 27, 2023

Show notes

What happens when a medical school needs cadavers to dissect, but they lack a supply of bodies? In the early 19th century in Edinburgh, Scotland, this was the issue plaguing doctors and anatomists who wanted to study the human body. Gravedigging became a popular and lucrative way to close the gap in the market, but it wasn't foolproof on account of having to wait for a person to die to sell their bodies. William Burke and William Hare decided the best way to get rich quick was to speed up the process themselves.

The Kidnapping of Miche Solomon Apr 20, 2023

Show notes

In 2015, Miche Solomon was just a typical 17 year old whose biggest concern was what she would wear to the upcoming end of year ball. That is until January of that year, when Miche started getting flooded by people telling her how much a new 8th grader at the school looked exactly like her. The new girl's name was Cassidy Nurse, and Miche had to see for herself. She was shocked when she met Cassidy - the resemblance was uncanny - but the girls just thought it was a funny coincidence and quickly forged a sisterly friendship. However, Cassidy was not your typical 8th grader. She had grown up in the shadow of her older sister, Zephany, who had been stolen from their mother's hospital room just days after she was born.

The Murder of Marty Duram Apr 13, 2023

Show notes

It was May of 2015 when a neighbor of Marty Duram's found his body on the floor of his bedroom, lying in a pool of blood. He had been shot 5 times in the chest, back, and arm. It looked like the house had been tossed, so police were thinking a possible robbery gone wrong, but they couldn’t seem to find anything that had been taken, and there were no signs of forced entry. It was a piece to a puzzle that would take months to solve, with the help of some very unusual witnesses.

The Murder of Marion Miley (by Mogab!) Apr 06, 2023

Show notes

We're flipping tables AND roles over here for this one! That's right, Mogab's telling the story this time! For this episode, Mogab tells Kristin about the murder of Marion Miley in 1941. 27 year old Marion was an amateur golfer, busy winning championships and awards as a woman in a very male dominated sport (and time period) when she and her mother, Elsa, were brutally murdered at the country club they lived in in Lexington, Kentucky. This whodunnit had Kristin on the edge of her seat! Originally released as a mini creep on our Patreon, we thought this episode deserved its day in the spotlight.
