    The People’s Court Podcast

    The honorable Judge Marilyn Milian presides over the four-time Emmy award winning “The People’s Court.” For more than two decades, Milian has dispensed justice and provided legal insight in the courtroom where justice and reality collide. And now, you can take the show on the go with “The People’s Court Podcast.”

    “The People’s Court Podcast” draws on ordinary people who have filed grievances in civil court and have opted to have their cases heard and mediated by Judge Milian. Running the gamut from disputes between neighbors and family members, to dissatisfied customers suing businesses, Milian’s decisions – based on current law – are final and binding.

    Joining Milian is multiple Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter Harvey Levin, who serves as the series’ host and legal reporter. In the courtroom, Milian is joined by court officer Douglas McIntosh. Doug Llewelyn interviews litigants after a decision has been rendered in their cases.

    The plaintiff hired the defendant to airbrush a specific mural on his Corvette. He claims the defendant made tons of mistakes and now he hates it, so he’s suing for damages. The defendant argues he has a great reputation and the plaintiff was too nitpicky. He’s countersuing for harassment.

    The plaintiff hired the defendant to fix her roof because it had a leak. She claims the leak never went away even after he fixed it twice, and the third time he was supposed to come, he didn’t show up. She’s suing for the cost of a roof. The defendant argues he went to the plaintiff’s house multiple times to fix the roof, but she was never there. Plus, she hired a new roofer and that voids his warranty, so he doesn’t owe her a thing.

    The plaintiff’s daughter rented an apartment with the defendant. She claims it was a bug-infested unit, so the daughter moved out. She says the defendant won’t return the security deposit, so she’s suing. The defendant argues the plaintiff’s daughter left after two weeks, so she left the defendant without a roommate.

    Being a Rotten Roommate Dec 28, 2023

    The plaintiff rented a room in the defendant’s house and says he didn’t get along with the defendant and the other roommate. He claims the defendant eventually locked him out of the house, so was forced to move out. He’s suing for prepaid rent. The defendant argues the plaintiff left behind a huge mess, so he doesn’t think he owes anything. He’s countersuing for loss of time and a cleaning fee.

    Then, the plaintiff is a professional baker. She hired the defendant the fix a mixer after it burned out, but she claims the defendant only made things worse. She’s suing for the cost of the mixer and lost wages. The defendant argues the mixer is 30 years old. He says he took the mixer apart and ordered the parts, but she moved it and parts went missing.

    Plus, the plaintiff purchased a used car from the defendant. She claims the vehicle is mess and it was totaled in an accident previously. She’s suing for the cost of car repairs. The defendant argues he financed the car several years before she brought him to court, so he doesn’t owe her anything.

    Trucking Around with a Driver Dec 26, 2023

    The plaintiff was hired to drive a truck for the defendant but hasn’t been paid yet, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant claims during the first delivery, the plaintiff damaged the goods, and during the second job, he disappeared on the road for three days. The defendant insists he lost money because of the plaintiff, so he shouldn’t have to pay him.

    Then, the plaintiff rented an apartment owned by the defendant, but when he moved in, there were items left behind from the former tenant. The plaintiff claims he asked the defendant to remove the belongings, but he refused, so the plaintiff is suing for storage fees. The defendant says he tried to remove the washer and dryer left behind, but the plaintiff would never give him access to get them out, so the defendant denies owing anything.

    Plus, the plaintiff brought his car into the defendant’s repair shop but claims the defendant caused problems and made it worse, so the plaintiff is suing for a refund. The defendant says the plaintiff self-diagnosed the car’s problems, and he fixed everything he was hired to do, so the defendant denies owing anything.

The defendant insists he did not injure the plaintiff on purpose, and he was just passionate about the game. The defendant is countersuing for malicious prosecution and abuse of civil procedures.

    Then, the plaintiff hired the defendant to monogram his dress shirts with his initials on the cuffs. However, when the plaintiff picked them up, he says the monograms were plastered on the front of the shirts instead, so he’s suing. The defendant argues the plaintiff never explained that he wanted the monograms on the cuffs, so he denies owing anything.

The defendant argues she left the plaintiff because he strangled her. She says she removed her own property and not his, so she doesn’t think she owes him.

She says she had to start evicting the defendant and she damaged it, so she’s suing for roof repairs, floor repairs, and inspection costs. The defendant argues she didn’t damage a thing and the plaintiff was just jealous of her. She’s suing for lost catering jobs and harassment.

    Plus, the plaintiff moved to the United States from England to take care of her sick uncle. She bought a used car from the defendant but claims it was a lemon. She thinks he’s taking advantage of her, so she’s suing for a refund. The defendant argues he swapped out the first car, and she just can’t be satisfied.

They claim the defendant partied the whole night instead and they didn’t even get to choose the pictures that went into the album. They’re suing for a partial refund. The defendant argues the plaintiffs loved the album.

    Plus, the plaintiff purchased a car from the defendant. He claims the defendant told him the car was in good condition, but it ended up being a piece of junk. He’s suing for his money. The defendant argues the plaintiff knew the car needed work and he was upfront about that.

    The plaintiff and defendant dated on and off for the past five years but still live together. The plaintiff says the defendant owes him for five months of rent, so he’s suing. The defendant claims the plaintiff once threatened her with a hammer, and she called the police. The defendant insists she’s been actively trying to move out and find a safe place to live, so she denies owing a dime.

    Then, the plaintiff hired the defendant to find her a housekeeper, but she claims the woman failed to find her a person she liked, so the plaintiff is suing for a refund. The defendant insists she found the plaintiff a housekeeper she initially approved of. However, after two months, the defendant says the plaintiff wanted someone new. Per their contract, the defendant agreed to find another housekeeper, but she says the plaintiff decided to file this frivolous lawsuit instead.

    Plus, the plaintiff was driving when the defendant sideswiped his car, so the plaintiff is suing for damages. The defendant insists the plaintiff abruptly changed lanes without looking, and he’s the one who sideswiped her. In fact, the defendant says the plaintiff’s insurance already admitted he was at fault.

    Bailing on a Loan Dec 19, 2023

    The plaintiff loaned the defendant money to bail him out of jail and help him purchase an engagement ring. However, the plaintiff says the defendant won’t pay him back, so he is suing. The defendant insists he never asked for the money, and he believes the plaintiff only gave him the loan because he has a weird obsession with his girlfriend.

    Then, the plaintiff loaned his stepdaughter money for a new transmission for her car. The plaintiff claims his stepdaughter agreed to pay him back but went on vacation to Hawaii instead, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant admits she didn’t pay back the loan in full, but that’s because the plaintiff added on illegal late fees.

    Plus, the plaintiff purchased a car from the defendant, but when he went to put gas in the vehicle, the plaintiff noticed there was a hole in the tank. The plaintiff brought the car into a shop, and they told him it was unsafe to drive, so the plaintiff is suing the seller for a refund. The defendant, a certified mechanic, insists the plaintiff knew what he was getting when he purchased the 17-year-old vehicle, and he denies owing anything.

The defendant argues he did the work that he was paid to do, and the plaintiff told him everything looked fine.

    Plus, the plaintiff rented an apartment to the defendant, who signed a one-year lease. She says the defendant claimed the apartment caused her health problems, then she disappeared after two months. She’s suing for lost rent. The defendant argues she and her son were sick the entire time they lived in the plaintiff’s apartment.
