Philosophy Friday: The Evolutionary Argument Against Naturalism with Dr. Stephen Napier Aug 09, 2019
    Show notes

Pat Flynn is joined by Dr. Stephen Napier (professor at Villanova University) to discuss a variety of topics, including a particularly interesting (and provocative) argument aimed at showing the rational incompatibility of modern evolutionary theory, on the one hand, and metaphysical naturalism, on the other. This is commonly known as the evolutionary argument against naturalism, developed prominently by Alvin Plantinga (see below for more). After that, Pat and Dr. Napier exchange ideas on the problem of evil and divine hiddenness.

Sunday School: Did Thomas Aquinas Really Prove the Existence of God? With Dr. Robert Delfino Jul 28, 2019
    Show notes

    In this episode:

    • What did Aquinas mean by "proof"?
    • The argument from possibility and necessity for God's existence and transcendent nature (Aquinas's famous 3rd way)

Sunday School: How Reason Can Lead to God with Dr. Josh Rasmussen Jul 21, 2019
    Show notes

Is it possible -- like really possible -- to know not only that God exists, but something about God through reason alone? Pat is joined by at least one professional philosophy who says yes: Dr. Josh Rasmussen.

Not only does Dr. Rasmussen hold that we can know that God exists, but that we can establish as much through pure logic. From there, we can even learn something about what God must be like, simply by working our back from our own experience to a necessarily existing, and conscious, foundation to reality.

How Reason Can Lead to God

Congrats to Dr. Rasmussen for his new book, which releases the end of this month, already ranking as a #1 new release in religion and philosophy. Be sure to snag your copy here.
