From Startup to 7 Figures in One Year Using TikTok w/ Dr. Ashley Kisling Jun 14, 2022

If you’ve always wondered how you can use TikTok to attract more patients and grow your practice, today’s episode is made for you.

We have a young orthodontist who has grown her practice to 7 figures in one year using TikTok.

As Dr. Ashley Kisling puts it, TikTok is not all about singing and dancing.

We can use it to inspire and educate our followers. This has worked out pretty well for her practice based on the numbers she is pulling.

But getting here was not a walk in the park. Graduating Ortho residency in 2019 and struggling to find her path in Ortho, Ashley had to quickly decide what to do.

Opening her own practice was daunting enough, but then Covid struck. But she gathered enough courage to do it anyway. Her practice, SOCO Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics is in San Clemente, California.

In addition to the astronomic growth of her practice, Dr. Ashley Kisling has become a social media influencer for major Orthodontic brands due to her huge engagement. This has helped her leverage these partnerships to offer discounts in her practice.

Purple Velvet Suit Syndrome | 5-Minute Fridays Jun 10, 2022

One of the greatest life lessons that changed how I look at life came from one of my patients.

He was a bona fide lead singer in a lead band who came to his appointments in a crushed purple velvet suit with his gorgeous girlfriend in tow.

He looked very dapper in his cool suit and exuded swag.

The suit got me thinking….

As much as I loved it and would have liked to wear it, did it fit my personality?

This is the lesson I’m sharing with you today in this 5-Minute Friday episode.

In orthodontics, we often come across some cool ideas we could implement in our practices. They could be tech, marketing strategies, office design ideas, etc.

But they might not fit the culture of your practice, your personality, or even your goals. You can emulate them, but you have to make them yours.

How Dr. Bob Skopek Doubled His Revenue Despite Going From 15 To 3 Team Members May 24, 2022

In this episode, I am joined by one of the POWERHOUSES of the orthodontic practice, Dr. Bob Skopek.

He has practiced orthodontics for over 20 years in North Barrington, Illinois. His practice focuses on customer experience, exceptional clinical care, and business efficiency.

Talking of efficiency, he transitioned from a practice of 15 team members and 11 chairs to 3 team members and 3 chairs.

And guess what happened to his revenue after the transition….. it DOUBLED.

This is HUGE from an efficiency perspective, but how did he achieve this.

He credits a few things:

✅Learning to move teeth with plastic – (he is a top 1% Invisalign provider)

✅Remote monitoring through DentalMonitoring App

✅OrthoFi to do the heavy lifting (insurance and patient processing & collection, finance, follow up with patients, etc.)

✅Transitioning to an almost text-only office with the help of the Rhinogram App

Today on the show, we have one of the true North Stars in our profession. One of the incredible women shaping the future of Orthodontics.

Dr. Amanda Gallagher is always striving to provide the best results for her patients, giving back to the schools and communities she serves, and inspiring a lot of Orthodontists.

She has grown her Practice, AG Ortho, to 4 locations in 9 years with the help of her husband Ben.

Talking of her practice offices, they resemble more of a high-end salon than an orthodontist office. Each location with its own unique theme and a welcoming aura. She describes herself as an office design addict.

Dr. Gallagher received her DMD degree from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA, and graduated at the top of her dental school class with Summa Cum Laude recognition. She then proceeded to the University of Maryland for her residency.

Amanda is a recognized leader in Aesthetic Orthodontics. She is leading the way in looking at cosmetic options for patients to go in conjunction with orthodontic treatments.

Things like fillers, Botox, and other cosmetic injectors can be part of our treatment planning. Patients are more likely to trust an orthodontist with their face harmony than anyone else.

When you meet Dr. Alyssa Carter, you can’t help but love her enthusiasm for life and her overwhelming positivity.

Most of you have met her in CE courses, summits, and other orthodontic meets all over the country. How she manages to do all those CEs is just impressive. She is the most well-traveled orthodontist in North America. 💯

But she is always trying to learn new things that can help drive efficiency at her practice, help her staff perform better, and improve the overall experience of her patients. Little wonder then that her practice is very successful.

Dr. Alyssa was born and raised in the small town of Sherman, Texas. She proceeded to Oklahoma State University for undergrad. And then Texas A&M Baylor for Dental School and the University of Florida for residency.

She returned to practice in her hometown and is now a partner at Stokes & Carter Orthodontics.
