Happy Thanksgiving everyone! For this week's main review, I am joined by Nicole Ackman, Ryan C. Showers, Daniel Howat, Cody Dericks & Danilo Castro. This week we're discussing Ron Howard's latest film "Hillbilly Elegy" starring Amy Adams and Glenn Close. After receiving a negative reception from critics, what did the NBP team think of it once we saw it on Netflix? "Sound Of Metal" is one of the best films of 2020 and we have a treat for you all today. We conducted three separate interviews talking with key people involved in the making of the film. First up is supervising sound editor Nicolas Becker, who takes us into one of the year's best soundscapes. Then we have writer/director Darius Marder who tells us about the screenplay, working with the deaf community and the actors of the film. And then we have someone who is part of both groups, actor Paul Raci who plays Ruben's mentor Joe in the film. All of them have a unique perspective to lend in these fascinating conversations. Interview With "The Nest" Writer/Director, Sean Durkin Nov 18, 2020
    Show notes

"The Nest," starring Jude Law and Carrie Coon, premiered earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival to positive reviews. For director Sean Durkin, this was his first film since his successful 2012 debut feature film "Martha, Marcy, May, Marlene." Why was it such a long wait between projects? Interview With "The Climb" Filmmakers, Michael Angelo Covino & Kyle Marvin Nov 16, 2020
    Show notes

It's been over a year since the premiere at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival but now, the dark-indie comedy "The Climb," was finally released in theaters this weekend through Sony Pictures Classics. The film tracks the toxic friendship between the two over the course of many years in long and elaborately staged sequences. Michael Angelo Covino and Kyle Marvin co-wrote the script and star in the movie together with Covino serving as director. Michael and Kyle were kind enough to talk to me back in March about their film before its previously scheduled release in the Spring got pushed back due to Covid-19. That interview is finally available for you to listen to and please do seek out the film if you can! Enjoy!
