We're back for another show of television talk. Last month, we announced that we're launching a new format for Next Best Series. Much like Next Best Theatre, members of the NBP team get together once a month to talk about what television shows they're currently watching or re-watching. This month's show is unique due to the Presidential Election we just went through. We talk about the experience of watching non-stop news coverage for a week , including new shows such as "The Queen's Gambit," "The Undoing" and more! Joining me for this episode we have Michael Schwartz, Nicole Ackman and Dan Bayer. We encourage everyone to give us feedback on this new format and let us know what you think. Enjoy!

Show notes

THIS IS A PREVIEW PODCAST. NOT THE FULL REVIEW. Please check out the full review on our Patreon Page by subscribing over at - https://www.patreon.com/NextBestPicture

Our 2016 retrospective continues as we attempt to cover a few missing podcast reviews which we did not complete the year the site launched. This will culminate in NBP Film Community Awards and awards voted on by the staff. Next up is our review of "Florence Foster Jenkins" starring Meryl Streep, Hugh Grant & Simon Helberg. Based on a true story and directed by Academy Award nominee Stephen Frears ("The Queen" & "Philomena"), the film is a delightful piece of entertainment, hoisted up by its main trio of performances. What did we think of it though? What did we think of the film's awards season run which resulted in Meryl Streep's 20th Oscar nomination but left Hugh Grant on the sidelines? Tune in to find out all of this and more in our review. Joining me for this podcast retrospective review I have Amanda Spears, Dan Bayer & Ryan C. Showers. Also check out our previous 2016 reviews of "20th Century Women," "Paterson," "Captain Fantastic," "Hail, Caesar!" & "The Handmaiden." Thanks!
