116: Magic Month: Melinda Lim on witchcraft, shadow healing, the Tarot and decolonizing your spiritual practice Oct 10, 2021
    Show notes

Hi Soothers, and welcome to another interview of Magic Month, where I'm interviewing people to help us better understand what magic is, how it works, and how you can begin engaging with it in the world. Today I interview Melinda Lim. Melinda is a multi-disciplinary witch who focuses on shadow healing and also helping the witch-curious decolonize their spiritual practices. She is also a lawyer who teaches witchy business owners the legal side of business. We have a wide-ranging convo on everything from her definition of magic and being a witch, to the importance of shadow work, her Tarot and ancestral practices, how she's integrating being both a lawyer and a witch, and so much more!
You can find Melinda on Instagram @the.melinda.lim
Here is the anxiety vs. intuition training I mention in the episode as well.

115: Welcome to Magic Month! Redefining, understanding, and applying magic in practical ways in your life Oct 03, 2021
    Show notes

Hello Soothers, happy October, and happy MAGIC MONTH!!! That's right, on the Sunday Soother, October is a theme of magic. Over the next few weeks, I'm going to dive deep into magic. What do you think of when you magic? Harry Potter shooting bolts out of his wand? A magician drawing a rabbit out of a hat? A witch stirring over a cauldron deep in the woods? Chanting spells in a dark room with a coven?
As somebody who deeply believes in and uses magic in her life I wanted to redefine magic, help you to understand it practically, and why it's really not that different from topics you're already learning from me: intention, authenticity, inspired action, intuition.
Tune in to today's episode to hear how I define magic, how and why I use magic in my life, my experiencing learning to trust in magic, and some simple ways you can start to practically apply magic in your own life (no, you don't have to identify as a witch or do complicated spells with complicated ingredients).
I'll also preview the three amazing witches I'm interviewing the rest of the month.
Even if you don't believe in magic or are skeptical about it, I encourage you to tune in, the exercises and approaches I'll be teaching today can be used by anybody, whether or not you believe they're "magical."

114: How to unhook from the self-pity cycle and victim mode for good Sep 26, 2021
    Show notes

Hi Soothers! Today I offer you several practices and exercises to step out of the self-pity cycle and step into your intentional, authentic power. Sensitive women often are stuck in self-pity as a mode of staying safe, and it can be hard for us to release it because it often feels scary to do so and step into our power. I'm here to offer you gentle perspectives and exercises on how to begin to unhook from self-pity, and step into your authentic self.

113: Why the "how" of your goal does not matter, and what you should do instead Sep 19, 2021
    Show notes

In today's podcast episode, I'm talking about something a little wacky sounding: the "how" of your goal or desire actually literally doesn't matter. I teach you three approaches that show you energy, thoughts, identity, and being the person who already has the goal is the best way to go after your heart's goals and desires, not to mention more efficient and effective. Stop trying to go after your goals from the "how" and action approach, and instead try on shifting your identity first.

112: The thorn, shadow work, and healing your core wounds Sep 12, 2021
    Show notes

In today's episode, I talk about the concept of "the thorn" from spiritual teacher Michael Singer: the core wound around which, consciously or unconsciously, we build our lives to ensure that the thorn and its wound is never touched.
While keeping our thorn safe is ultimately and originally an act of protection and salvation, as we grow, it becomes a limiting way of living, and I discuss how we can begin to actually be with and heal the thorn and its wound instead through shadow work.

110: Moving into partnership with your emotions, your thoughts, and your nervous system Aug 08, 2021
    Show notes

Hi Soothers! Inspired by a woman who did a discovery call for Soothe who asked me, "Where do you want to see the women in this group in a year?" (thanks Sarah!) I answered: "In partnership and allyship with their thoughts, emotions and nervous system, instead of in denial or shame about them, or at the mercy of them."
So that is the topic of today's episode! I discuss what it means to be in true equal partnership with these areas of ourselves, instead of in denial (repressing or blaming ourselves for our nature) or at the mercy of (victimized and reactive to these parts of ourselves).
Stewardship and partnership in these areas will be a cornerstone of my upcoming mastermind for sensitive women, Soothe. You can read all about Soothe here, and book a discovery call about it here. Enrollment closes in the third week of August and we kick off in September!

109: How to stop outsourcing your emotions to others and reclaim emotional agency Jul 25, 2021
    Show notes

In today's episode I talk about how we as sensitive people can stop outsourcing our emotional states and emotional power to other people and reclaim emotional responsibility and agency in our lives. I talk about why emotional outsourcing develops in sensitive people; what true emotional agency is and isn't about; and strategies for how we can more consciously choose to accept, regulate and respond from different emotional states.
Emotional resiliency, regulation and agency will be a cornerstone of my upcoming mastermind for sensitive women, Soothe. You can read all about Soothe here, and book a discovery call about it here. Enrollment closes in about a month (mid-August) and we kick off in September!

    Show notes

In today's episode, I explain one of my core approaches to healing for highly sensitive women: inner child work. You may have heard of this concept, but not fully understand what it is, how it works or how you can begin, so I break it all down for you today.
Inner child work and healing will be a cornerstone of my upcoming mastermind for sensitive women, Soothe. You can read all about Soothe here, and book a discovery call about it here. Enrollment closes in about a month (mid-August) and we kick off in September!

107: How to increase emotional resiliency as a sensitive person Jul 11, 2021
    Show notes

Hi Soothers! Today's podcast is audio from a recent IG Live I did, all about how you can increase your emotional resiliency as a highly sensitive person. I think many of us sensitive souls assume emotional mastery and resiliency will never be a possibility for us because we just feel SO deeply and so much and, like, all the time, but let me tell you: it is not so! Emotional resiliency is well within grasp for you, with a little patience, learning, mentorship and creativity.
Learning emotional resiliency so you can achieve the life of your dreams is a cornerstone of my upcoming mastermind for sensitive women, Soothe. You can read all about Soothe here, and book a discovery call about it here.
