186: The difference between setting ego goals and aligned, heart-centered goals Nov 27, 2022
    Show notes

If I know anything about my Soother audience, it's that you love to set you some goals. And I'm with you! Goal-setting is one of my talents. And, at the same time, as I've delved more deeply into alignment, energy, and connecting with my heart's desires, there are some things about goal-setting I've discovered that can actually be blocking us from achieving our heart's and soul's desires.

In today's episode, I'm delving into the difference between setting goals from your ego, and setting goals from your soul and heart's truth; how this can impact the goal achieving process; how to know if you are setting a goal from ego or from the heart; and share personal stories of when I was setting goals from ego and how I've moved more into heart-centered goal-setting.

Ready to set your goals in a heart-centered, aligned way? Join me for my annual Intentional and Intuitive Goal-Setting Workshop, Wednesday, January 4th, 8-9:30pmET (lifetime replay provided). Settle in with your candles, tea, cozy music and journal for 90 minutes of presentation on intuitive and intentional goal-setting, and tuning into your themes and goals for 2023. This workshop will be a mix of me teaching, live exercises, and a custom workbook to help you align to your word of the year and heart goals for 2023. Sliding scale from $22-$66, get your tickets here.

185: Exploring time off from alcohol with Jillian Anthony of Cruel Summer Book Club Nov 20, 2022
    Show notes

Hey Soothers! As you might know, I'm wrapping up 90 days off alcohol (and caffeine and gluten as well). I've talked about this previously on the podcast and written about it on the Sunday Soother newsletter, and today, I invite on past Soother guest and all around delightful person Jillian Anthony, who recently did six months without alcohol, for a conversation around this topic.

Jillian and I share our previously complicated relationships with alcohol, what made us both decide to do these extended periods of sobriety, tips we used to navigate this time without alcohol, how or if we plan to return to alcohol, and lots more.

Jillian runs a wonderful newsletter and podcast, Cruel Summer Book Club, about exploring change and living well. You can also find her on Instagram @jillathrilla.

184: How and why energy work is important for highly sensitive people with Missy Toy Ozeas Nov 13, 2022
    Show notes

Hi Soothers! Have you ever heard about energy work, energy clearing, grounding or protection and wondered exactly, uh, what it is, how it works, and how you can start doing it? Today your questions are answered, as I have a lovely, in-depth interview with Missy Toy Ozeas, an energy worker and intuitive I work with on a regular basis and who teaches energy work and protection methods to highly sensitive people and empaths.

Missy and I dive into what exactly energy is; how you can clear and protect your energy; what an energy worker can do for you; how, when Missy is working on me and my energy in DC, from her place in California, how that works and what it looks like. It's a very cool and practical episode that explains how this intangible and hard-to-describe process of energy healing really works.

Hey, Soothers! This week I dive deep into one of my favorite self-reflective and spiritual practices: Reading and connecting with Tarot cards! On today's podcast I share a little bit of my journey to discovering Tarot; how exactly I use it these days; and how you can begin or deepen your relationship with Tarot too, whether you do it for spiritual reasons or simply as another tool to add to your self-discovery toolkit.

Want to learn more after listening today? You're in luck. On Saturday November 12th I am hosting a two-hour workshop: Tarot for Beginners.

182: The power of retreats for highly sensitive people Oct 23, 2022
    Show notes

Hi Soothers! Today I'm joined by my upcoming New Year's Eve retreat co-host, Kelly Barrett. This will be the third retreat that Kelly and I have led, and we'd thought to celebrate, we'd share our own transformative experiences with retreats we've been on, the reasons it's so lovely and nourishing for hyper-responsible HSPs to go to a retreat where literally everything is taken care of for you, the power of intentional rest and time dedicated to your own self-discovery and goal-setting, and more. We also go into exactly what we'll be doing at the retreat, soothe any worries our fellow introverts or socially anxious people might have, and just have a good chat!

181: Getting into right relationship around money as a way of healing our ancestors who were women Oct 16, 2022
    Show notes

Happy Sunday, Soothers! This week, I had a massive realization, which was also like, obvious, but sometimes it lands different, ya know? Anyways, the realization: I am the first female entrepreneur in my entire lineage (that I'm aware of). I am also the first unmarried woman in my entire lineage (that I'm aware of). I paired the two realizations and it hit me like a ton of bricks: I am meant in this lifetime to achieve what my mother, grandmothers, great-grandmothers, great-great-grandmothers and beyond could not because of the patriarchy: earn my own money from my heart's work, make that money MINE and MINE alone, learn to expertly manage the money on my own without the support (or interference/exploitation) of a man, and then share and teach this with others.
I don't know about you, but the majority of the women in my lineage were stay-at-home-moms and housewives, who, if and when they did enter the career field, it was to support their husband's work and visions. And I'm here to birth a new possibility.

Anybody who is interested in career, entrepreneurship, money management, and you need an extra boost of motivation and understanding, tune into this episode to reflect on what your ancestors who were women might want you to understand and learn about money in ways that they were not permitted to.

    Show notes

Hi Soothers! This week, I and the 26 women in the first-ever cohort of Soothe close out our year together. Whether or not you're interested in signing up for Sothe, I think you'll walk away with some of your own wisdom and lessons for your own healing.

177: What the hell is a mastermind and why would a highly sensitive woman want to join one? Sep 25, 2022
    Show notes

Today I explain what a mastermind is and why especially highly sensitive women should consider joining one as part of their healing process. We can often be hyper-independent -- we can do it all alone! We don't need help! -- and groups like masterminds, where we come together with other like-minded souls for healing and growth and accountability and love and BEING SEEN as we ARE, not as we think we need to be or should be -- can be a critical and powerful part of our healing process, of understanding that we can show up human, that we get to ask for help, that we get to be seen in our full emotional spectrum and that it is now safe to do so.
