    The Lindsey Elmore Show

    What changes us?

I’m Lindsey Elmore: pharmacist, educator, author, and speaker. For more than a decade I’ve helped people understand their health and make more informed decisions, on stages in about 35 countries and in hundreds of long-form conversations. I’m endlessly curious about what changes a life — what we learn, what we believe, what we survive, and what we choose to do next.

On this show I talk with physicians, researchers, authors, clinicians, and people whose experience has something to teach the rest of us. We get into medicine and pharmacology, mental wellness, hormones, longevity, and what the evidence actually says. We also get into the parts of life that no study fully explains: faith and doubt, grief, forgiveness, sobriety, the books that rearranged us, and the ordinary decisions that add up to a life.

My training taught me to examine evidence, ask precise questions, and respect how much there is still to learn. My own life has given me plenty of chances to practice that last part. So I read the research so you don’t have to, I ask the questions I’d want answered myself, and I come ready to be taught.
Hundreds of episodes in, the thread hasn’t changed: bigger questions, better conversations, and a willingness to reconsider what we thought we knew.

This show is for education. It isn’t medical advice, and it isn’t a substitute for care from your own clinician.

Welcome to this very special edition of The Lindsey Elmore Show. Do you feel like you've tried everything to lose weight, decrease stress, increase energy, and just feel better? Maybe it’s not your fault. It could be your microbiome. Your microbiome is connected to every single body system as well as your overall physical and mental wellness. Imbalance in the microbiome (dysbiosis) could be the cause of a slew of health issues that may surprise you. Contrary to popular belief, simply popping a probiotic supplement is not enough to support this intricate network that makes up the microbiome. The truth is, if you’re not engineering your microbiome, you’re leaving yourself vulnerable to an imbalance that can negatively affect your physical and mental health. Back in September of 2022, I hosted an event with over 40 experts who shared about the role of the microbiome in overall health and wellness. We are now sharing many of these interviews as a part of a podcast series. We’ll explore the ever-evolving science of the human microbiome and its impact on health. You’ll hear from experts about the latest research and how to apply this in your daily life. If you’ve struggled with health issues and feel like you are out of options, I encourage you to tune in as we investigate the complex interplay between nutrition, lifestyle and the microbiome, and discover new ways to engineer a healthier, happier life. From exploring cutting-edge treatments to learning about the power of probiotics, this special series of The Lindsey Elmore Show podcast is sure to open your eyes to the world of microbial engineering. From Sick Care to True Healthcare: CBD's Medicinal Benefits without the High | Atul Kaushal Jul 04, 2023
    Show notes

Dr. Atul Kaushal is a physician, startup cofounder, consulting veteran, and innovator with 20+ years of experience across the healthcare industry. His mission is and has been the pursuit of true 'health care' and how to get there from our current 'sick care’ model. He believes that payment reform, technology, and empathy are essential components of the future of healthcare. He has spent the past 20 years working at the intersection of: Humans, Technology, and Healthcare. His focus is on healthcare innovation, which is manifest in value-based care, health equity, holistic medicine, digital transformation, and experience management. To augment his skillset, he earned an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management in 2015, majoring in Strategy, Marketing, and Organizational Management. Dr. Kaushal has recently joined AmourCBD in the role of Medical Director. In an effort to determine the efficacy of AmourCBD’s revolutionary new pain-relieving cream, he provided samples to his own mother who suffers from degenerative joint disease (DJD) and is in some degree of constant pain. To his delight, and hers, daily use of AmourCBD’s pain-relieving cream for a few days allowed her to reduce her prescription medications by half. Knowing the possible adverse effects of these powerful prescription medications, he was convinced of the significance of this new product formulation and the importance of getting it out to the market for those suffering from pain and not wanting the physical and mental side effects of prescription pain medications, including opioids. In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his wife & two young daughters. Together they enjoy cooking, reading, investing, working-out, and personal development.
