Protein In Foods You'd Least Expect | Christopher Gardner, PhD. Oct 10, 2023
    Show notes

Protein can be found in the foods you'd least expect.

Nutrition researcher Christopher Gardner, PhD, explains that virtually all fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes contain all 20 amino acids that are the building blocks for the protein your body needs to function at a high level. Those options are widely believed to be healthier cholesterol-free options than what are considered traditional protein sources.

Gardner also compares the quality of protein found in various sources and why getting enough is like a big game of scrabble.

He joins "The Weight Loss Champion" Chuck Carroll on The Exam Room Podcast to share his findings and a new view on protein.

This episode was recorded at the International Conference on Nutrition in Medicine in Washington, DC.

From Satanic American Diet to Minister of Wellness | Nathaniel Jordan Sep 12, 2023

Nathaniel Jordan watched his father, a minister, die of complications stemming from an unhealthy diet. Ditto for three uncles who all died in their mid-60's or younger. His grandparents also died of preventable chronic diseases.

Nathaniel almost suffered the same fate. He was 100 pounds overweight and suffering from prediabetes and heart complications, before he had an epiphany following his father's passing. Vegan Diet Is $500 Cheaper Than Eating Meat | Dr. Hana Kahleova Sep 09, 2023
    Show notes

Going vegan may not just improve your health. It could also improve your financial bottom line.

A study finds that eating an exclusively plant-based diet saved shoppers 16% on their grocery bill or roughly $500 per year, according to a study by Dr. Hana Kahleova.

She joins "The Weight Loss Champion" on The Exam Room Podcast with the surprising results. While shoppers obviously spent more on fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, the expense was more than offset by the savings from no longer purchasing eggs, meat, and dairy which tend to be higher priced items.

If you think eating a plant-based diet is too expensive, this study shows it's time to think again.
