Put your business growth into hyperdrive: learn how to go live

Learning how to go live on Facebook, YouTube, or Instagram – or even learning how to go live on all three platforms at the SAME TIME! – can be the difference of growing your business slowly or putting the proverbial business-petal to the metal. And when it comes to accelerating your CEO Teacher® business growth as fast as possible, I am soooooooo here for it, friend. In fact, that's why today we're talking all about how to livestream with my guest, Michelle Williams. Surprisingly, not many teachers are in the livestreaming space. And for some, they don't even know where to begin. Lucky for you, Michelle is a master at livestreaming and she is going to share with you just how to livestream on all of the channels.

But watch out — when you learn how to go live, you may find your business growth in overdrive…

Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education and a Master of Science degree in curriculum, instruction and technology. She is certified to teach grades 1-8 in both Texas and Louisiana. Moreover, she is licensed to lead schools, though the classroom is, admittedly, where her heart remains. Not to mention, Michelle's YouTube channel is AMAZING and she's certainly going to talk you through how to go live on YouTube. Did I mention her Facebook page is AMAZING, also? Naturally, she's going to share how to go live on Facebook, too. I am so excited for you to hear everything that Michelle has to offer. So get ready to turn your livestreaming engines on, watch for the checkered flag, and listen to this episode.

In this episode, you will learn:

    • How to go live with an outline that'll help you look professional, so that your audience will continue to take you seriously
    • What role livestreaming can play in your business
    • Tips and Tricks that you can use to start livestreaming on Instagram today
    • How pre-recorded videos are the best training ground for how to livestream
    • Why you don't need to buy a bunch of fancy gear when you're starting off and, if you do want to buy some gear, why your first items could be as simple as a pair of earbuds and/or lightbulbs
    • When to make your livestream background simple and when to make it as dynamic and as exciting as your teaching

What are the best stock photo sites for CEO Teachers?

As a teacher selling online, you may not realize it — but after today's interview you're going to see why — to make a beautiful online teacher business you need the best stock photos available. But where does one find the best stock photo sites? And why is it so important to get started with product photography today for your teacher business? Additionally, even if you are lucky enough to stumble upon the best stock photo sites according to google, you may not find the best stock photo sites for educators. For example, I vividly remember looking for the best stock photo sites for my teaching products and resources back in the day when I was still teaching in the classroom and starting online. And, consequently, I would always draw a blank. Now, there is a new niche evolving in the world for the top stock photo sites specifically for educators like you. And my guest today is the founder of one of them.

The best stock photo site for Educators

Today, I'm chatting with Brett Redgate, one of the best stock photo site creators for educators. In the first place, Brett is the owner of MollyBrett Photography and Founder of The Styled Stock Market Membership. Additionally, Brett is passionate about her faith, coffee dates with her favorite guy, hiking trails, eating ice cream with her 3 adventurous sons, and helping teacherpreneurs — like you — take their business to the next level with show-stopping images. Whether teaching skills to create their own fantastic images without the frustration in her Photography for Teacherpreneurs online course, or getting a custom look with her teacher-inspired stock photos and mockup images, Brett is here to give Teacherpreneurs what they need to confidently market their products and increase sales with ease! Listen to this episode to learn how stock photos will transform your teacher business and why seeing IS truly believing!

In this episode, you will learn:

    • How you don't need a fancy set-up to start making your own eye-catching stock photos and product images
    • Why having awesome, stand-out images is a must for your business
    • How to stage a simple, reusable stock photo with props from the dollar store
    • What to do when you don't have the time to take your own photos and can't hire a custom photographer
    • What the difference between stock photos and mock-up image are and how you can become great at using both
    • And, of course, where to find the best stock photo sites for selling for teachers

How to Use Pinterest for Marketing Your Business

Hey CEO Teachers! As you wade through all of the noise out there about which social media platform is best to use to market your business, it can often seem like Pinterest…well, shouldn't be one of them. But, as you'll hear, a lot has changed on Pinterest. As a result, we're covering how to use Pinterest for business today. And let me get a little vulnerable here. My Pinterest marketing strategy tanked this past year! TANKED. But with the help of today's guest, you're going to hear how to better use Pinterest as a business, why this happened to me, what we can do to fix it, and why we still think that, in spite of my experience, Pinterest is a strong marketing tool for beginners and veterans alike.

Pinned to Pinterest: How to use it for marketing in 2021 and beyond

Meet Amber Peterson. As a Pinterest marketing specialist and the CEO of Pinwheel Strategic Marketing, Amber knows that carefully crafted content paired with an intentional Pinterest strategy is the key to long term visibility. Whether she is creating and managing Pinterest strategy for her clients or speaking on the value of these strategies, Amber leverages her marketing expertise to grow visibility and website traffic for business owners who want to reach a larger audience and book more clients. Amber will show us how we were still playing by the old rules, rules that you can now avoid. So listen here to find out what Pinterest can look like for your teacher business in 2021, what you need to stop doing, and what you can start doing to make sure that you are getting the traffic you deserve. Why Sales Drop during the Summer and What to do about it

Hey CEO Teachers! I see you, wanting to kick off your shoes, dip that one big toe in the water, and enjoy that long overdo beach day as you bask in the piercing rays of the summer sun. Then I see you checking your Teachers pay Teachers dashboard and *GASP* the anxiety sets in. There's been a drop in sales! What is going on?! Why did your sales drop? Does this sound familiar? I've been there, too, and, honestly, I'm no longer surprised. Unfortunately, the "Summers Sales Slump" is a real thing and, fortunately, it's normal and predictable. She is going to change your mindset and give you the action steps you need to turn your sales drop into your sales harvest. Friends, it is my pleasure to bring back on the podcast one of our amazing team members here at The CEO Teacher podcast — Allie Elliott.

By the end, you might even start to see that summer is, indeed, the time to shine. So relax, put your air-pods in, lay back in your hammock, and listen to this episode to learn how summertime can lead to a flourishing harvest.

How to Run a Teacher Membership like Netflix with Jess Massey Jun 30, 2021
    Show notes

Start a membership like Netflix in 2021

Hey CEO Teachers! Today I am interviewing an online membership maven and, yes, someone who only recently started her online membership platform AND is running her membership like Netflix within one year of starting it! If you don't already know Jess Massey, I have no doubt that you are going to love her. Friend, meet Jess — a grad school drop out turned planner designer, podcast host, and founder of the community-centered productivity brand, Hustle Sanely. Hustle Sanely planners and courses use the 5 Keys to Hustling Sanely to teach busy women how to pursue their goals without feeling burnt out, overwhelmed, or sacrificing their mental health and relationships. While Jess is going to offer you a master class on online membership management, Jess is also passionate about helping women manage their time and energy so that they can kiss their overwhelming to-do lists goodbye and peacefully live productive lives. If you don't already follow Jess on Instagram (I would recommend that you do!), you're going to hear why we love her so much.

Running an online Membership like Netflix is easier than you think

Jess runs a very successful online membership or, as we like to call it, a teacher membership. But whether your an educator or not, Jess loves to help anyone lucky enough to be within earshot to succeed. So if you're thinking, "Kayse, there's no possible way I could start an online membership in 2021…" well, my friend, it might be time to think again. Jess is going to share all of the ways that you can manage your content while serving your community. And to get started…it's as easy as clicking play. You're going to hear the tactical inspiration that you need to start and run an online membership — this year — the way that Netflix runs Netflix! Put down your self doubt and pick up this episode!

In this episode, you will learn:

    • How making the decision to drop out of grad school led Jess to becoming a full-time entrepreneur
    • How you can use one piece of content and repurpose it across all of your platforms — whether inside OR outside of your membership
    • Why it's sometimes most difficult to see your natural gifts
    • Why you don't need a huge community to have a successful online membership
    • And where, when, and how to use your entire catalog of content to provide value, on-board new members, and sell…without feeling sell-y or inauthentic

What Teacher Maternity Leave Actually Looks Like & How to Navigate it

For all of you mamas, soon to be mamas, or anyone who hopes to start a family of their own one day, here's a little bit about my FIRST fully planned teacher maternity leave. You're not going to believe this, but I only took my first teacher maternity leave with my fourth child (that's right, child number FOUR). I'd never taken maternity leave for a teacher before child number four because...well...I was a slave to my job. Friend, I don't want this to be you. So today, I want to share what I've learned after 3 failed maternity leaves and what I'm doing this time to make it better. By the time you're reading this, my very own baby number 5 should be here! And, regardless if you're a teacher, a CEO Teacher, or somewhere in between, there's something here for everyone.

Your Teacher maternity leave checklist revealed

I want to be very real -- teacher maternity leave is very different than most jobs. I've had students ask me before, "do teachers get maternity leave?" Well, yes, but it requires a lot more work and preparation. It's not as easy as, ok guys - see y'all in 6-8 weeks! I hope it works out! Instead, you've got an entire room of students, other teachers, parents, and administrators wondering, "how long is this teacher maternity leave going to last and did she write a teacher maternity leave letter?" among many other things. Also, even after I left the classroom, I launched my first course 2 months before my most recent baby was born and, although I said I was on maternity leave, I wasn't. I was working around the clock on my laptop to help students. I didn't set myself up for success. So this time, I have vowed to make sure my hiney sits in that rocking chair for a million miles so I can enjoy every. Single. Second. Listen here to learn what you can do to prepare to get the most out of your teacher maternity leave!

In this episode, you will learn:

    • What steps you need to take to enjoy the most out of your maternity leave
    • How to prioritize what needs to get done before you take your first day of your maternity leave as a teacher
    • What your teacher maternity calendar might look like
    • Why you don't want to wait until the last minute to find out your local requirements for Teacher Maternity Leave and/or Paternity Leave
    • The importance of a well crafted teacher maternity leave letter to parents and students

How to run your own race as a Teachers pay Teachers Top Seller

Hey there CEO Teacher friend! I want to take you back in time and, no, I'm not talking Marty-McFly-Back-to-the-Future in time, but instead I'm talking back to the Teachers Pay Teachers days of yore. Back then, Teachers pay Teachers top sellers could be listed on a coveted "top 100" list. Ahhhhhh yes -- each week, TpT sellers would break out their pencil and paper and take notes on where they stood in the Teachers pay teachers rankings. And once upon a time, I even watched my face slide from page 18 to page 1 on the Georgie list and, eventually, into the top 10 in the state. And let me tell you - I was relentless. I kept notes, dates, timelines, goals, and...you get the idea. Am I still competitive? Yes. Am I still obsessed about where I stand? Ew, no. Nor do I care. And a lot has changed for the Teachers pay Teachers top sellers list, also. A few years back, TpT decided to do away with their teachers pay teachers sellers list altogether. This decision left some people in a tizzy. Some people were happy. Some people were sad. Me? Well, I was indifferent. A year or so prior, I had already made the decision to to keep my head down and run my own race. And interestingly, the year I decided to stop fighting for first place on a silly leaderboard was about the same time my business hit a million dollars in just 10 months…

Stop searching for the Teachers Pay Teachers Top Sellers List and start selling on Teachers pay Teachers

In today's episode, I'll give you what I did to make it as a teachers pay teachers top seller...with or without the list. Because it's still a coveted thing that a lot of you are searching for (I did my SEO homework!). Most of all, I encourage you to remember this - when you're trying to beat everyone else, you usually come in second place. So run your own race and get ready to sell even more on Teachers pay Teachers with these seven steps!

In this episode, you will learn:

    • What product creation means for you and why it's the number one thing you can do to move higher up as a Teachers pay teachers seller
    • How SEO will help you create relevant and successful TpT products
    • The necessary ingredients to a winning product description.
    • Why blogging will continue to power the flywheel of your Teachers Pay Teachers sales
    • How to find the underserved areas in your specific teaching niche
