The Context of White Supremacy hosts our once a month Global Sunday Talk On Racism. This program is designed to inspire participation from non-white listeners beyond the United States and/or non-white people who cannot dial in during our usual broadcast time. With the reported slaughters in France, we look forward to speaking with less confused Victims of Racism who've observed events unfold in Europe. There are many questions, but it's abundantly clear that this event will be used to fortify the System of White Supremacy and rationalize increased White aggression. "ISIS" and "Radical Islamists" may just be code words for non-white people. We'll relate the Paris attacks to the Charlie Hebdo assault from earlier this year and the 7/7/05 London bombing. We'll examine news reports from the past seven days and - hopefully - promote a constructive dialog. #ANTIBLACKNESS Unrest on the campus of the University of Missouri captivated the nation when black football players withheld their million dollar labor. Former president Timothy Wolfe resigned and Chancellor R. Bowen Loftin will conclude his tenure at the end of the year. Black students of #Mizzou insist that the problem of Racism has not been solved, and students at Emory University, Yale University, University of Michigan and other campuses are voicing their rebuke of the White Supremacist "ivory tower." Not surprisingly, there has been an rapid, violent backlash from Whites in Missouri and at the historically black Howard University in Washington, D.C.. The C.O.W.S. KATRINA: AFTER THE FLOOD Part XI Nov 13, 2015

The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 11th study session on Gary Rivlin's Katrina: After The Flood. Mr. Rivlin is a White man; while on staff for the New York Times he reported on the cataclysmic engineering failure and negligence that obliterated New Orleans in August of 2005. His 2015 bestseller documents a decade of asymmetrical "recovery." To make it plain, ten years of black New Orleanians being racially dislocated and deliberately blocked from rebuilding their lives. Rivlin inspects all areas of people activity: the institution of charter schools, the destruction of public housing, and the looting of funds designed for flood victims. Last week's installment documented the unabashed arrogance of White New Orleanians as they took direct control of post-Katrina New Orleans. Rivlin describes the The New Orleans Tribune's checklist of the White elites agenda: getting rid of black district attorney Eddie Jordan and taking over public schools. Stacy Head, a white female attorney, "ousted a black incumbent in a majority-black district that hadn't had a Caucasian representative in more than thirty years." In 2007, Head and her City Council cohorts voted unanimously to destroy public housing. As black citizens challenged the decision, they were pepper-sprayed, Tasered, and shackled. Head blew kisses to the crowd. We hope this text will offer a more complete understanding of Hurricane Katrina and it's aftermath as a meticulously planned campaign of genocide against black New Orleanians. Dr. Tommy Curry returns to The Context of White Supremacy. Dr. Curry is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Texas A&M. Dr. Curry's work spans across the various fields of philosophy, jurisprudence, Africana Studies, and Gender Studies; his primary research interests are in Critical Race Theory and Africana Philosophy. We're eager to hear Dr. Curry's anaylsis of the recent data suggesting rising death rates for middle-aged Whites. We'll also get his thoughts on the current trial of accused sexual predator and former officer Daniel Holtzclaw - who allegedly used his badge to stalk and rape black females of Oklahoma City. Gary Rivlin visitis The Context of White Supremacy. While reporting for the New York Times in 2005, Rivlin was assigned to cover the historic destruction of Hurricane Katrina and the levee failure in New Orleans, Louisiana. Rivlin looked forward to what would become of the eviscerated metropolis and dedicated years of time and energy to compiling the bestselling book, Katrina: After The Flood. Rvilin is White, but his book stresses that this storm was disproportionately catastrophic for black New Orleanians. We'll discuss why he began the book with the infamous Crescent City Bridge conflagration, and why Liberty Bank president Alden McDonald became a central figure for the book. Grace Franklin returns to The Context of White Supremacy. Ms. Franklin is a founding member of OKC Artists For Justice. She visited with us in the spring of 2015 to hightlight the case of alleged sexual terrorist and former Oklahoma City enforcement officer, Daniel Holtzclaw. Holtzclaw was arrested in August of 2014 and is charged with 36 counts of sexual assaults exclusively targeting black females. Even with all of the bevy of attention on police terrorism against black people, this case has been widely tuned out. Ms. Franklin and colleagues have worked tirelessly to bring attention to this case, while insisting that black mothers, black sisters and black daughters be valued and protected. We'll get her views on the trial's opening week. We'll examine news reports from the past seven days and - hopefully - promote a constructive dialog. #ANTIBLACKNESS The trial of former officer and suspected sexual terrorist Daniel Holtzclaw commenced this week; all of his alleged victims are black females. The jury determining his fate is all White. Ironically, the Supreme Court at this very moment is reviewing the standard practice of excluding black citizens from juries. Holtzclaw's case continues to receive paltry attention, which would be the complete opposite if he was black or if his victims had been White. While black females in Oklahoma receive no sympathy, Whites are singing a different tune about the "war on drugs" now that throngs of Whites are languishing with heroin, prescription medication and methamphetamine addiction. For nearly a half century Whites have offered no compassion but lots of jail time for black people suffering from substance abuse issues. Whites also invested a sizable chunk of time sulking about recent data showing rising death rates for middle-aged Whites. His 2015 bestseller reviews a decade of asymmetrical "recovery." To make it plain, ten years of black New Orleanians being racially dislocated and deliberately deterred from reconstructing their lives. Rivlin explores all areas of people activity: the institution of charter schools, the destruction of public housing, and the looting of funds designated for flood victims. Last week's installment chronicled the phenomenal efforts of Doris Hicks, a black educator and New Orleans native. She was the principal of King Elementary school in the Lower Ninth Ward; the facility was inundated by the levee failure. She and her staff demonstrated #BlackSelfRespect and unwavering dedication to providing education to black children in the face of purposeful opposition. Rivlin provides a plethora of examples on how White people got a much easier "road home" than black people. We'll examine news reports from the past seven days and - hopefully - promote a constructive dialog. #ANTIBLACKNESS South Carolina riveted the nation again, as multitudes feigned astonishment about a black female student being brutalized by former White officer Ben Fields. Race Soldier Fields has a history of alleged misconduct and was formerly fired earlier this week. Mr. Fields' behavior should be analyzed within the historical context of South Carolina luminaries like Governor Ben Tillman, Senator Strom Thurmond, Dr. J. Marion Sims, and Dylann Storm Roof. While much was said about the contemptable and common abuse of a black South Carolina child, nothing was said about the upcoming trial of Daniel Holtzclaw, which is slated for Monday, November 2nd. Alleged predators like Holtzclaw prompted one black male to seek sanctuary north of the U.S. border in Canada.
