The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 12th and final study session on Edward Baptist's 2014 book, The Half Has Never Been Told: Slavery And The Making Of American Capitalism. Baptist, a Racist Suspect, created this text to concentrate the enslavement and desecration of black bodies as essential to the foundation and success of the United States. He confirms that the torture and forced labor of black people was an extraordinarily efficient industrial system and would not have ended naturally on its own. The book chapters are named after body parts to emphasize how the White slave system embodied complete war on black bodies. Last week's installment covered the infamous Dred Scott decision. Eliza Emerson (a White Woman) refused to allow Dred and Harriet Scott to purchase themselves from her. Baptist stresses how Emerson's interest was beyond money; she wanted a universal declaration of White dominion over black bodies. Baptist also explained how despite John Brown's terrorist efforts, Whites in the north who opposed slavery also hated black people. Asadah Kirkland visits The Context of White Supremacy. A black mother with more than twenty years experience working with children, Ms. Kirkland's unconventional academic settings allowed for the freedom to teach her own curricula and deliver her own messages that nourished black students. We'll discuss her 2009 publication, Beating Black Kids. She investigates why large numbers of black people believe in and resort to physically hitting black children as a normative form of discipline. She connects this practice to our traumatic experience with White Supremacy and offers an abundance of alternative concepts and child-rearing strategies to rear healthy, creative, well-behaved black children. She was called on to share her views on the recent controversy surrounding football player Adrian Peterson whipping his young son. Ms. Kirkland was highly recommended by Ms. Lorne Cress Love - Dr. Frances Cress Welsing's sister. James Walvin visits The Context of White Supremacy. Mr. Walvin is a Professor of History Emeritus at University of York. He's written and edited thirty books, including Black Presence: A Documentary History of the Negro in England and Black and White: The Negro and English Society. We'll review his 2011 publication, The Zong: A Massacre, The Law & The End Of Slavery. Gus learned about this book while reading Edward Baptist's The Half Has Never Been Told. Walvin's text explores an 1781 slave ship financed by a Racist Liverpool consortium. The slave ship, the Zong, allegedly ran perilously low on water before reaching its destination in Jamaica. The Whites on board decided the best remedy would be to toss approximately 150 black people overboard to their death. This included children and females. There was nothing unusual or abnormal about this act. Slaughtering black people on the high seas was a predictable, standard procedure. What established this extermination as infamous was that the White financiers pursued compensation for their murdered negroes. The trial drew widespread attention and galvanized a movement that ended the British slave trade in less than thirty years. This obviously did not end White Supremacy or British "colonization" and "imperialism." The Context of White Supremacy hosts our monthly Global Sunday Talk On Racism. This broadcast is constructed to encourage participation from Victims of Racisms beyond the United States and/or non-white people who are not able to call-in during our normal broadcast time. This broadcast coincides with The C.O.W.S. seven year anniversary of returning to airwaves. We're anxious to hear international perspective on the reported outbreak of the Zika virus. This professed health crisis will likely accumulate increased attention with the approach of the 2016 Olympics in Brazil. We'll also address the death of Sarah Reed. Much like the death of Sandra Bland and Kimberly Randle-King, Ms. Reed died under suspicious circumstances while being held in greater confinement in the United Kingdom. We'll also make time to ask our international listeners about the United States presidential election. We'll see which White person they think will take the reigns from Pres. We'll use these sessions to hone our use of words as tools to reveal truth, neutralize White people. We'll examine news reports from the past seven days and - hopefully - promote a constructive dialog. #ANTIBLACKNESS Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia picked the middle of Black History Month to perish. The Supreme Court vacancy has reconstructed the 2016 presidential election and Pres. Obama's last year in office. Justice Scalia's death has also provided an excuse for Racists to further torment Justice Clarence Thomas and the president. Echoing the pathologies of convicted sexual terrorist Daniel Holtzclaw, two LAPD officers have been arrested and charged with repeatedly raping four women over the course of several years. The racial classification of the victims has not been released. Like Beyonce's Super Bowl demonstration, Kendrick Lamar used his Grammy recital to call attention to the ongoing war against black people. Speaking of terrorism, synchronized with the PBS presentartion of Stanley Nelson's documentary on the Black Panther Party, Albert Woodfox was finally released from Angola penitentiary in Louisiana. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 11th study session on Edward Baptist's 2014 book, The Half Has Never Been Told: Slavery And The Making Of American Capitalism. Baptist, a Suspected Racist, constructed this publication to concentrate the enslavement and desecration of black bodies as essential to the foundation and success of the United States. He confirms that the torture and forced labor of black people was not an inefficient industrial system, nor would it have ended naturally on its own. The book chapters are named after body parts to emphasize how the White slave system embodied total war on black bodies. Last week's installment outlined how a puny number of northern Whites began to oppose the southern system of slavery/White Supremacy. Baptist states that Whites who opposed the "Slave Power" mostly "hated black people." The antislavery advocates were primarily concerned with Southern bullies bogarting national politics and dictating affairs to northern Whites. Baptist explains how this conflict between northern and southern whites dominated pivotal events like the Mexican War and the theft and statehood of California. Lorne Cress Love visits The Context of White Supremacy. Ms. Cress Love has invested her life in countering the System of White Supremacy. She was a member of SNCC during the 1960's and established multiple radio programs to offer constructive media programing for black audiences. She also happens to be the sister of third generation of physician and author of The Isis Papers, Dr. Frances Cress Welsing. C.O.W.S. listeners and black people globally continue to grieve over the loss of Dr. Welsing at the beginning of this year. We'll get Ms. Cress Love's thoughts on her sister. We'll also discuss the significance of Dr. Welsing's natural hair and how each sister transitioned away from chemically mutilating their hair. Ms. Cress Love will also discuss the significance of so many black people who are familiar with Dr. Welsing's work, but have not read and comprehensively studied her writing or applied her suggestions. In the subsequent days, Whites invested equal time rejoicing over Newton's defeat and admonishing his Trayvonesque press conference as well as Beyonce's halftime performance of her new single "Formation." Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and others branded the Grammy-winning vocalist a "racist" and protested in front of NFL headquarters for allowing her to perform an homage to the Black Panther Party. Speaking of the Big Apple and police terrorism, NYPD officer Pete Liang was found guilty for the 2014 killing of Akai Gurley. Liang could face up to 15 years in prison. The Gurley killing took place within weeks of the non-indictment of Michael Brown Jr.'s killer in 2014. This week Attorney General Loretta Lynch and the Department of Justice announced their plan to sue the City of Ferguson for failure to comply with federal guidelines for reforming the police department that terrorized and financially extorted black Missourians. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 10th study session on Edward Baptist's 2014 text, The Half Has Never Been Told: Slavery And The Making Of American Capitalism. Baptist, a possible Race Soldier, crafted this work to concentrate the enslavement and slaughter of black bodies as fundamental to the foundation and prosperity of the United States. He verifies that the torture and forced labor of black people was not an inefficient industrial system, nor would it have ended naturally on its own. The book chapters are named after body parts to accentuate how the White slave system embodied complete war on black bodies. Last week's session described how lying, corrupt, enslavers absconded to Texas when their farms went bust. Baptist momentarily includes how White Women "dramatically" increased their public support of slavery during the 1840's - contrary to the commonly praised Harriet Beecher Stowe. We also pondered on one of the more provocative sentences in the book: "Historians have repeatedly confused 'manhood' and 'resistance' when they have written about slavery." Ned and Constance Sublette visit The Context of White Supremacy. Mr. Sublette is an award-winning author, celebrated musician and producer of the 18 part Cuba Connection series on PRI's Afropop Worldwide. He and his wife, Constance, co-authored the master-crafted the book, The American Slave Coast: A History Of The Slave-Breeding Industry. This awesome volume asserts that the proliferation and profitability of slavery required the forced rape and impregnation of black females. They provide a gargantuan amount of evidence that White Terrorists like Thomas Jefferson deliberately and methodically anticipated the cash value of the offspring of black rape victims.
