Dr. Umar Abdullah Johnson makes his 10th visit to The Context of White Supremacy. Dr. Umar is a proud descendant of author and freedom fighter Frederick Douglass and also nationally recognized School Psychiatrist. He authored Psycho-Academic Holocaust and was featured in the documentary series Hidden Colors. We're excited to gett his views on the passing of third generation physician Dr. Frances Cress Welsing as well as the more recent loss of musical prodigy Prince - and the rumors about him being a no count drug addict. As Dr. Umar maintains that destructive medication of black people represents one of the more important stages of White Supremacy, we'll get his thoughts on whether legalizing cannabis would be constructive for black people. We encourage non-white listeners to dial in with their codified concepts, new terms, observations, research findings, workplace problems or triumphs, and/or suggestions on how eeest to Replace White Supremacy With Justice ASAP. We'll use these sessions to hone our use of words as tools to reveal truth, neutralize White people. We'll examine news reports from the past seven days and - hopefully - promote a constructive dialog. #ANTIBLACKNESS The first quarter of 2016 has been a time of colossal loss for black people. First Dr. Frances Cress Welsing, Natalie Cole, Dr. Delbert Blair and Maurice White all died at the beginning of the year. Now, musical prodigy Prince passed away suddenly at the age of 57. Questions surround his cause of death and the value of his estate; Whites again are clamoring to display their regard for a dead black person - who notoriously compared himself to being a "slave" to White music magnates. Speaking of slavery, Whites announced that counter-terrorist and black liberator Harriet Tubman will be the new face of the U.S. twenty dollar bill - black enslaver, White Supremacist and former President Andrew Jackson will be relocated to the back of the bank note. Speaking of Racist elected officials, criminal charges have been filed against several White Michigan officials for the poisoning of the predominantly black city of Flint; Governor Rick Snyder was not one of the officials indicted. Speaking of accountability, former NYPD officer and convicted killer Peter Liang was sentenced to zero days in jail for the 2014 shooting death of Akai Gurley. While black people die world wide with few tears or adequate redress, Whites spent much of the week hand-wringing news from the Centers For Disease Control, which reports that the life expectancy of White Women declined. Washington's landmark publication, Medical Apartheid: The Dark History Of Medical Experimentation On Black Americans From Colonial Times To Present. Washington's historic work investigates centuries of deliberate pillaging of black bodies under the guise of "science." Washington's seminal publication should affect how black people interrogate the scientific breakthroughs of whitefolks - like the "crispr" gene editing technology and DNA tracing websites that hoard genetic material. The C.O.W.S. Racism In Ontario, Canada Apr 21, 2016

The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Justine Turner and Mark Drewe live from Canada. The duo combined to make the documentary film Finding Freedom In The Forest City. Part of Turner's motivation for this project was her "biracial" identity - she has a White mother and a black father. She's also invested years of time and energy organizing Black History Month events as well as local Emancipation Day celebrations. Finding Freedom explores the history of enslaved black Americans escaping to Canada in hopes of having a better life. Turner and Drewe do not focus on 21st century White Supremacy in Canada - which has been heavily spotlighted by Black Lives Matter Toronto this year; the filmmakers instead display a litany of black Canadians who've thrived in London, Ontario and made Canada better with their success. The Context of White Supremacy welcomes an attempted black mother and father to consider the rigors of raising black children. Our guests are willing to share their experiences on how their parenting has evolved as they increased their understanding of what Racism is and how it works. We're excited to review what problems they've encountered since infusing counter-racist logic into their child-rearing practicies. Being truthful, discussing Racism with your child is not always an easy - or enjoyable - task; we'll hear what resistance their child has offered. It seems television - Empire specifically - has had a alarmingly destructive impact on their offspring. As the educational system is designed to nourish White Power, we'll ask what obstacles their child's school has presented. This broadcast is devoted to encouraging participation from Victims of Racisms outside the United States and/or non-white people who are unable to call-in during our regular broadcast time. The Toronto Canada division of Black Lives Matter has been actively protesting the Police Terrorism against black citizens. Much like US enforcement officers, Canadian officials allege that they take these concerns seriously and are working on the problem. One of our listeners in the United Kingdom made note of the BBC's new series Undercover. Speaking of black athletes, Racist Suspect and documentary filmmaker Ken Burns debuted his latest project on the life and times of baseball giant Jackie Robinson. After almost a century, Whites continue issuing mea culpas for the Terrorism Robinson was subjected to - which may have killed him early. Speaking of killers, an independent investigation of the Chicago Police Department concluded that there is an institutional lack of regard for black life. Laquan McDonald and Bettie Jones are rolling over in their graves. And speaking of grieving black families, presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton is using fried okra, pork chops and the race card to compel black people to vote for her. Yes, fried okra. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the concluding study session on Leanita McClain's posthumously published A Foot In Each World. McClain was an extraordinarily skilled black journalist in the 1980's. She had essays published in the Chicago Tribune and The Washington Post. She made a habit of using words to reveal how White Supremacy impacted black people. She committed suicide in May of 1984 at the age of 32. Her suicide note illustrates the degree to which White Supremacy compromised her mental health. She wrote: "Do not try to pull me back into this world. I will never live long enough to see my people free anyway." A Foot In Each World is an assembly of her poetry and essays that was edited by her former husband and journalist Clarence Page. Studying her work chronologically offers insight on her evolving thoughts on Racism as well as her personal depression. It seems her fear of being rejected or vilified by other black people was a regular source of agitation. She also seemed to harbor hopes and heartache over a few "Good Whites." Last week we discussed her articles which detailed the dynamics of black fear of police - McClain wrote this essay during Chicago Police commander Jon Burge's reign of terrorism against black citizens. The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Professor Vernon Burton. In addition to being the Director of the Clemson Cyberinstitute, Mr. Burton is the Creativity Professor of Humanities, Professor of History, Sociology, and Computer Science at Clemson University. South Carolina has been at the center of national conversations on White Supremacy since Dylann Storm Roof's 2015 terrorist rampage at Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston. Mr. Burton's comprehensive knowledge of South Carolina history may help us better understand Roof's thoughts, speech and action. We'll review Professor Burton's Pulizter Prize nominated publication, In My Fatherâ??s House Are Many Mansions: Family and Community in Edgefield, South Carolina. The text offers a wealth of information on South Carolina culture and what it has meant to be White in this state. Professor Vernon Burton was our scheduled and confirmed guest for the program. He failed to honor his agreement. Two hours after our agreed upon broadcast time, he emailed to say that he turned his phone off and neglected to turn it back on. We were scheduled to discuss the history of Racism in South Carolina from Ben Tillman to Dylann Storm Roof. In his absence, Gus highlighted a few portions of Butler's book and discussed the corrosive impact of a non-white person having a White parent. Speaking of tragic arrangements, we also discussed the recent controversy regarding New York Mayor Bill de Blasio and presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton. They were involved in a tacky, Racist joke this past weekend.
