The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 4th study session on Harriet A. Washington's remarkable text, Medical Apartheid: The Dark History Of Medical Experimentation On Black Americans From Colonial Times To Present. Washington's historic work uncovers hundreds of years of deliberate pillaging of black bodies under the guise of "science." Washington's research should change how black people interrogate the scientific breakthroughs of whitefolks - like the "crispr" gene editing technology and DNA tracing websites that hoard genetic material. Last week's session investigated the tradition of showcasing the suffering and molestation of black people for Racist throngs. Washington includes the public degradations of Ota Benga, Joice Heth and Saartjie Baartman to contextualize how black misery became entertainment for Whites. Medical butchers continued this tradition, surgically mutilating black bodies in front of audiences with complete disregard for the suffering or humanity of the black person being molested. Dr. Tommy Curry returns to The Context of White Supremacy. An Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Texas A&M, Dr. Curry's work spans across the various fields of philosophy, jurisprudence, Africana Studies, and Gender Studies. His primary research interests are in Critical Race Theory and Africana Philosophy. We're eager to hear Dr. Curry's thoughts on the group of aspiring black scholars who were racially terroroized earlier this year at Dr. Curry's A&M. We also hope to hear Dr. Curry's thoughts on the increasing possibility that Donald J. Trump will be president. It seems a growing number of furious Whites are voicing their frustrations at the ballot box in support of a Trump White House. Joseph R. Gibson returns to The Context of White Supremacy. An educator, author and founder of KITABU Publishing, Mr. Gibson has written an impressive array of books dedicated to sharing information on what White Supremacy is and tactics for countering it. Some of his previous work that we've investigated includes Trapped In Rainbows and The Monsters We Make. His latest offering is: How Racism Has Changed the Human Brain: Neuroplasticity and the Chronic Stress of Everyday Racism in Contemporary America. Mr. Gibson writes that centuries of Racist thoughts, speech, actions, symbols, and iconography have altered humanity on a neurological level. He explains that the ceaseless onslaught that suggests black people are chumps re-wires our brain-computer and makes it more likely that our future thoughts, speech and actions will conform to the idea of black inferiority. We encourage non-white listeners to dial in with their codified concepts, new terms, observations, research findings, workplace problems or triumphs, and/or suggestions on how eeest to Replace White Supremacy With Justice ASAP. We'll use these sessions to hone our use of words as tools to reveal truth, neutralize White people. We'll examine news reports from the past seven days and - hopefully - promote a constructive dialog. #ANTIBLACKNESS A horrendous 2016 continued for black people with the death of former Black Panther member and mother of Tupac Shakur Dr. Afeni Shakur. She purportedly died from a heart attack at the age of 69. Author John Potash posed two questions: "Why, when someone calls 911 about Afeni feeling very ill, would police immediately come to the scene, versus just EMT workers?" "Secondly, why would you say there was no foul play and nothing suspicious, unless there was originally something that might suggest that?" Racist necrophilia continues to devour the legacy of deceased music icon Prince; this week speculation abounded that the entertainment icon had AIDS, and was in desperate need of drug rehabilitation. Sinead O'Connor even branded Arsenio Hall as Prince's narcotics supplier. The only bit of good news was Ted Cruz and John Kasich withdrawing from the GOP race, leaving Donald J. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 3rd study session on Harriet A. Washington's remarkable text, Medical Apartheid: The Dark History Of Medical Experimentation On Black Americans From Colonial Times To Present. Washington's historic work unearths centuries of deliberate pillaging of black bodies under the guise of "science." Washington's research should affect how black people interrogate the scientific discoveries of whitefolks - like the "crispr" gene editing technology and DNA tracing websites that hoard genetic material. Last week's session provided additional evidence of the institutional rape of enslaved black females and males; being unable to reproduce or engage in sexual activity reduced a slaves value. Washington also does a remarkable job detailing the extensive medical knowledge and healing traditions that black people transported from Africa. Whites actively suppressed this information and/or plagiarized the medical wisdom - as Racist often do. We also got more examples of Whites - like President Thomas Jefferson - utilizing vague language to deceive others about their torturous experimentation on black people. Renegade took the time to address the history of police terrorism against black people globally - including the 2011 London Riots, and the weekly eruptions that instigated numerous uprisings throughout the 1960's. We'll also review the Donald Trump's vice grip on the 2016 Republican nomination for the presidency. There appears to be no doubt he'll be vying for the White House come November. We'll also devote time to discussing workplace Racism and the importance of acknowledging anti-blackness. Washington's historic book documents centuries of deliberate pillaging of black bodies under the guise of "science." Amy Louise Wood visits The Context of White Supremacy. An associate professor of history at Illinois State University, Wood is a U.S. cultural historian of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. We'll review her 2009 publication, Lynching and Spectacle: Witnessing Racial Violence in America, 1890-1940. This book was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Award in History. Wood investigates how Whites bearing witness to the mutilation of black bodies helped solidify the White race and legitimized, sanctified the barbarism White Supremacy required. She details the significance of the 1915 masterpiece, Birth Of A Nation, lynching postcards and photographs, and the ritual scavenging of body parts by Racist spectators. We'll compare this barbaric practice to the 21st century montage of footage of enforcement officers brutalizing and slaughtering black citizens. Dr. Ama Mazama visits The Context of White Supremacy. Director of the Graduate Programs of the Department of Africa American Studies and Associate Professor at Temple University, Dr. Mazama is also the managing editor of the Journal of Black Studies. She is internationally recognized as an educational consultant with a distinguished reputation for implementing African content within educational curriculum. She published a brilliant essay dissecting the struggles black children encounter withing U.S. classrooms dealing with White Supremacy and how this is leading many parents to choose homeschool. We'll ask for suggestion for black parents who decide to keep their children in public schools. We'll also ask Dr. Mazama what should parents do to minimize the likelihood of their child being suspended.
