The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 4th study session on Dr. Llaila O. Afrika's Nutritional Destruction Black People (Nutricide). Dr. Afrika is an internationally acclaimed author, naturopathic healer, certified acupuncturist, nutrition counselor and addictionologist. His surprising death in March of this year saddened and stunned many. He was 74. We were scheduled to read Dr. Afrika's work at some point this year, but there was no urgency to select a time. The coronavirus changed everything. Seemingly days after many around the world joked that black people are immune to "the rona," an avalanche of reports announced that black people in the U.S. are dying at alarming numbers from the so-called coronavirus. The history and continued practice of #MedicalAprtheid, abusing and experimenting on black patients, is one theory to explain the high number of fatalities. But obesity, cigarette smoking, high blood pressure, diabetes and a host of other diet-related health problems seem to be correlated with a higher risk of dying from the coronavirus. The current health crisis demanded that we open Dr. Afrika's work immediately. Unfortunately, our first three installments yielded little reward for cracking Dr. Afrika's book. There's a hefty amount of name-calling and blaming of black people - who are not in control of their food choices. Last week's session saw Dr. Afrika compare the U.S. military army to the "African Liberation Army." Gus T. Renegade describes being terrorized by a White man for checking the mailbox. With a key for the mailbox at the house where I'm allowed to reside, I thought I could lazily collect my packages and go about my business. A Racist Suspect in a black jeep parked next to the mailbox and changed everything. This White man made no effort to introduce or identify himself and immediately assumed Gus T. was some sort of criminal mastermind out looting mailboxes. I'll detail how I handled this situation - which may not be the best way to handle these sort of random confrontations. We'll also emphasize how dangerous Whites are. There have been a bevy of reports about increased gun sales since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. Racistman and Racistwoman bragged about being well armed years in advance of the current health crisis. The Context of White Supremacy hosts our Friday weekly forum on neutralizing Workplace Racism. A number of regions around the globe are beginning the process of re-opening and allowing certain businesses to reopen. All areas of people activity have been disrupted, and workers in all industries are struggling to deal with daily adjustments and new safety hazards. A number of meat processing plants have reported outbreaks prompting closures and fears of meat shortages and/or a major contamination of food sources. Concern has also been raised about produce pickers who are crowded into tightly packed buses and lacking protective and sanitation equipment. A number of essential workers have also rebuffed symbolic applause and platitudes from the general public and made a more poignant call for hazard pay, sick pay and routine compensation that reflects the essential nature of their duties. The Context of White Supremacy welcomes the return of Dr. Vanessa Grubbs. A "kidney doctor (nephrologist), former primary care doctor, patient (kidney donor), and someone who loves somebody living with kidney failure," Dr. Grubbs visited Seattle in 2017 to discuss her freshly published book, Hundreds of Interlaced Fingers. The book examines what she learned while on the journey to marrying her husband, who suffered from kidney failure. She loaned him one of her extras on the way to the alter and made note of the awful treatment doled out to black patients in need of a kidney transplant. In fact, she changed her career focus to nephrology after all she observed. Fast forward to 2020, and the world continues to grapple with the coronavirus. Last week, reports indicated that the virus may cause damage to kidneys, and Dr. Grubbs was the first person on Gus's mind. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly Compensatory Call-In. We encourage non-white listeners to dial in with their codified concepts, new terms, observations, research findings, workplace problems or triumphs, and/or suggestions on how best to Replace White Supremacy With Justice ASAP. We’ll use these sessions to hone our use of words as tools to reveal truth, neutralize White people. We’ll examine news reports from the past seven days and – hopefully – promote a constructive dialog. #ANTIBLACKNESS As the world continues to war with the coronavirus, the United States grapples with ongoing protests against the stay at home orders, hodge-podge efforts by some states to re-open, and incompetent suggestions from the White House. Thousands of Whites across the country stormed the streets to demand that they be allowed to return to work, defying shelter in place orders with signs reading: "Sacrifice the weak." In Georgia, Governor Brian Kemp allowed important businesses (tattoo parlors and barber shops) to re-open in Georgia. The Mayor of Atlanta, Keisha Lance Bottoms, cautioned residents of her city to remain at home in spite of the governor's proclamation. The mayor and her child were subjected to racist texts and demands that she re-open the city. Commander in chief Donald J. Trump failed to inspire confidence when he suggested that "injection" of some sort of disinfectant may be help stop Covid-19. He also described using "ultraviolet or just a very powerful light" to hit the body. This appalling lack of scientific logic has fueled substantial skepticism, protests, and reckless disregard for the spread of the coronavirus. In fact, a number of C.O.W.S. listeners have concluded there is no coronavirus, masks are "ridiculous," and there's no need to follow recommendations about social distancing or sheltering in place. The Context of White Supremacy hosts our Friday weekly forum on neutralizing Workplace Racism. The global suspension of activities in response to the so called coronavirus continues. All areas of people activity have been disrupted, and workers in all industries are struggling to deal with daily adjustments and new safety hazards. In the U.S., a number of states are beginning plans to reopen businesses and end the stay at home orders. This is forcing workers to navigate new procedures to maintain safety. A few C.O.W.S. listeners have discussed creating new rules to ensure social distancing and updating workplace policy to allow for more workers to remain at home. We'll also if their jobs have a public policy on how to proceed should an employee report that they are positive for the virus. It seems a number of employers are doing little to nothing to inform employees of potential health threats. He also details why he chooses not to include references.
