    Toby Hadoke's Who's Round: 195: Jonjo O'Neill Oct 04, 2016
    Show notes

One of Toby's favourites this one. The second part of our anniversary celebrations covers that very special episode aired on Doctor Who's 50th birthday. Forget your returning Doctor and your War Doctor and your surprise Fourth Doctor: there's illustriousness in the guest cast too, as this fine actor proves. He's played lead roles for the RSC, he's been in some of the most talked about television series to come out of the UK recently and he's got lots of interesting insights into the lot of the modern actor. He also makes Toby laugh more than any previous interviewee, which is worth the price of admission (if there was one) alone.

    Nominated charities: Amnesty International

    Toby Hadoke's Who's Round: 194: Jeremy Young Oct 03, 2016
    Show notes

Who's Round is bookending this week's Doctor Who birthday with two celebratory editions. In this first one, we go right back to the beginning for a unique insight into the very first adventure. Our interviewee has done more than one stint in time and space though (in another adventure that qualifies for unique status) but also has also been at the receiving end of Brian Blessed's tall stories, had his phone tapped whilst under the gaze of the secret service abroad, and spent time in prison with a soap legend. So let's make magic (or, failing that, fire).

    Nominated charities: Action Aid

    Toby Hadoke's Who's Round: 193: Tony Caunter Oct 02, 2016
    Show notes

An actor who has the distinction of being in Doctor Who three times but being most famous for playing a character in a soap who had the same name as a different actor who has also been in Doctor Who three times (cryptic). He talks with great modesty about an enviable CV which includes doing battle with three different Doctors, playing the same character in a major TV show for nine years and never being out of work.

    Nominated charities: DEBRA

    Toby Hadoke's Who's Round: 192: John Atterbury Oct 01, 2016
    Show notes

The latest interviewee popped up a couple of times at the end of the Troughton era and has had a long career that has taken in working with Doctor Number 9 in his early acting days and rubbing shoulders with British acting royalty on the big screen. But it's not all glitz and glamour, as there's a certain amount of gardening leave - literally - in this particular actor's life.

    Nominated charities: The Church Army

    Toby Hadoke's Who's Round: 191: Stephen Thorne Sep 04, 2016
    Show notes

This charming man knows a thing or two about Gods and monsters. He's appeared as the lead villain in a couple of iconic stories and the not-so-lead villain on another two occasions. But Doctor Who is not the only thing he has lent his considerable vocal talents to: he carried Charles Laughton's Lear, practically lived at the BBC radio studios for about a decade and has recorded a vast number of talking books: so you know, he's going to be easy to listen to....

    Toby Hadoke's Who's Round: 190: Stephen Churchett Sep 03, 2016
    Show notes

Another one of those amazing people who has contributed to Doctor Who in what could be described in modest terms but whose extra curricular activities include playing the same character on and off for over 25 years in one of Britain's biggest television programs and writing the final episode of another of TV's legendary series and whose first play was produced at the West End. So there's quite a lot to talk about, and Cybermen too.

    Nominated charities: The Psoriasis Association

    Toby Hadoke's Who's Round: 189: Ricky Newby Sep 02, 2016
    Show notes

This one has it all - Jesus, Jeremy Corbyn, the Queen, and an eclectic life that has involved a lot of comedy greats, a certain amount of travel, and some close encounters with all sorts of kinds. Then there's the small matter of playing some of Doctor Who's most memorable monsters: not all of them memorable for the same reasons.

    Toby Hadoke's Who's Round: 188: Wendy Danvers Sep 01, 2016
    Show notes

She may have only been in once scene but she's one of a very few performers to have said a particular and iconic set of words in Doctor Who. But what a life she has lived, crossing paths with big personalities from Fanny Craddock to Russell Brand - proving once again that only a brief dalliance with a famous Time Lord is no barrier to a fascinating conversation, which also encompasses improvisation, Mr Blobby and Chris Evans (and a dog!).

Nominated charities: RNLI and Cancer Research

    Toby Hadoke's Who's Round: 187: Rob Edwards Aug 05, 2016
    Show notes

He was in two consecutive Doctor Who voices, bit involving mechanical things getting ideas above their station. He was only taking his very first steps into the profession when he crossed paths with the Doctor, but since then has been a leading man for some of our most illustrious theatre companies, scoring major successes with Shakespeare in particular. So as well as meeting a sticky end and getting an extra fee for doing so, he also chats about being up close and personal with Kenneth Branagh, working with a Time Lady and playing a Disney villain for five years at the West End.

    Nominated charity: NSPCC

    Toby Hadoke's Who's Round: 186: Andrew Cartmel Part 3 Aug 04, 2016
    Show notes

The last of a three part interview with one of the shapers of the show. The use of his name conjures up a particular style of story and an ambition to move the programme in a different direction. He was also on the front line as the show endured some of its most difficult battles - and he has plenty to say about his producer, his writers and the BBC's attitude towards the show.
